Expat Bloopers Night
Expat Bloopers Night
I will be sitting at the table with my two large dogs (golden retrier and a brown snd white dog) and table booking is under my name **We will start a tad earlier for two reasons, it might be easier for some to come straight from work. And Vintage Inn is having their last trad night of the year at 19:30 so if you feel like staying after for some trad music/want to share something musical you can. The date was created before trad night was confirmed so The Vintage Inn apologises for changing time. PS trad music is some of the best things about Ireland so hopefully this will be a great addition to our night. As the winter hols approach you may be feeling some big feels. So let's get together and feel them and walk together through them. ***bring something that reminds you of the people/places you miss Some things we will do: - acknowledge the feelings of aloneness/sadness during this time of the year when you think you should be happy - talk about ways of expressing their feelings - exploring your new identity away from people/places who shaped you - witness your grief/loneliness/pain - be with each other in this holiday time Doggos welcome. And also, let us take a moment to have a laugh: Sometimes, even with our best intentions, we make some funny and messy mistakes living abroad. Let's meet for an early evening socialisation to share the lighter side of expat grief as well, while still honouring our deeper feelings towards home.

DOG DAY AFTERNOON @ IFI (8:30pm) - "Late Late" Breakfast
DOG DAY AFTERNOON @ IFI (8:30pm) - "Late Late" Breakfast
Hi everyone, Ho, ho, hope you’ve having a good week - these weeks leading up to Christmas can be manic, so a ‘me treat’ to the cinema might be just what you need! The IFI have released their Schedule for Friday, so let’s go to see a 50th Anniversary Special rerelease - if I’ve ever seen this movie, I’ve forgotten - DOG DAY AFTERNOON in Cinema 2 at 8:30pm. *Nothing says Christmas like screaming "Attica! Attica!".* We will then have dinner beforehand in the IFI Cafe Bar at 6:30pm. Dinner is now closed for numbers. If you wish to join a Waitlist, please PM directly (Sueanne) to be included if any spots open up. DOG DAY AFTERNOON (124 mins) [Dog Day Afternoon | Modern Trailer | HBO Max](https://youtu.be/3STmwLDDBcI?si=KeStyzOmvgAk5o-A) *“Re-released on the occasion of its fiftieth anniversary, Dog Day Afternoon recounts the true story of an attempted bank robbery in Brooklyn, 1972. Sonny (Al Pacino, reuniting with his Serpico director) and Sal (the great John Cazale) go ahead as planned with their heist after being abandoned by the third member of their gang. Things immediately go wrong as the bank is almost empty of cash and a hostage situation develops very quickly. In the course of negotiations, it comes out that Sonny’s motive was to secure enough money to pay for the sexual reassignment surgery of his lover Leon (Chris Sarandon). Groundbreaking at the time for its thoughtful and sympathetic consideration of gender and sexuality, though of its time when viewed through a contemporary lens, Dog Day Afternoon is a gripping, funny, and moving film, a classic of 1970s Hollywood.”* **Dining:** Note that they do not split bills there so it’s **CASH ONLY** again for this one, and there’s a **12.5% service charge** on large table bookings.
