Bring your own clocks or use Chess.com's Chess Clock app. We generally meet in the blue room, which is to your right after entering. If we're not in the blue room we're at the far left near the beer tanks in the back corner.

We will be playing **Agricola** with up to 8 players. All experience levels welcome. Expect the game teach to start promptly within the first 10 minutes. Agricola is a worker placement game in which you're a farmer living in a wooden shack with your spouse and little else. At first, on a turn, your family gets to take only two actions, one for you and one for your spouse: plowing fields, collecting materials, building fences, etc. Each round a new action card is flipped over, offering one more possible action. Starting in June 2026 Sunday 7PM Chess, will be alternating every other week with Saturday Night 8PM Chess! Casual Chess: informal skittles games or optionally with Clocks (Blitz, Rapid, Quick, or custom time controls). Meetups of Ashburn Chess Club are held on 2nd floor of the Wegmans supermarket, 45131 Columbia Pl, Sterling, VA 20166, located in the Dulles Centre Shoppes Plaza which is just off the Waxpool Road Exit on Route 28 expressway. To find the chess games, take the elevator or stairs up to the 2nd floor mezzanine level. If there are RSVP the host will usually arrive a few minutes early to set up tables in the center mezzanine section located near the Kids Room with the TV. Guests, walk-ins, kibitzers are all welcome too; we request minor children to be accompanied by an adult, and we request only chess players RSVP, members and guests who are attending to play chess, so we have an accurate count of chessboards needed to set up.

We invite you to get acquainted with some popular board games, such as Ticket to Ride, Carcassonne, and Catan. They are easy to learn and are loved by a wide range of players. People will be available to teach newcomers how to play each of the games. Beginners are welcome. Feel free to bring additional games that you think people will enjoy. All are invited to come to the Elks Lodge as guests of Virginia Colin. Please make sure that she signs you in. Drinks and good quality bar food will be available for purchase.

We play a variety of games with a focus on high interaction Euros. Events will start with quick games while people arrive and eat lunch. We will start longer games between 1:30pm and 2pm.
