• What is it? - This class is for all levels from novice to advanced runners, where we will train you to run fast.

• When is it? - Running intervals runs every Tuesday at 07:15am (Barceloneta), Tuesday at 7.30pm (Glories), Wednesday at 8pm, and Thursday evening at 7pm. (both Barceloneta)
• Who runs it? - These classes are led by me! My name is Alan Urquhart and I am from Scotland. I am a Level 4 Advanced Personal Trainer and I have been in the health and fitness industry for 26 years. For 14 years I was a runner, taking part in road, hill, cross country, and track, in distances from 1 mile to marathon. I have been involved in Athletics coaching since I was 17.
• How much is it? - €10 a class however you can buy unlimited PB:Running classes for the calendar month for €40.
• Anything else? - Before you attend your very first class with me, you will be required to fill out a par-q which you can complete here.

Strength & Conditioning for runners (and other sports!)

We will use resistance bands in these classes. If you would like to bring your own then that is welcomed otherwise the coach will have sufficient quantity for each participant.
• What is it? - This class is designed to strengthen and condition the whole body. Aiming to prevent injury by strengthening those weak muscles and stretching those problem areas. This will be hugely beneficial to our runners all of whom who should do some strength and conditioning work at least once a week. By coming along to class you get to do this under the instruction of a experienced coach and in the company of your friends from running intervals.
• Where is it? - The class takes place in Park Glories. We will be located between the big white circle and the grassy area. Just look out for me in my blue PB:Running top.
• When is it? - Strength and conditioning classes take place on a Monday evening 7.30pm (Park Ciutadella),Tuesday evening at 6.30pm (Park Glories), and Wednesday evening at 7 pm (Park Barceloneta).

Barcelona Casual Runners Weekly Meetup

You can leave your stuff there and we will begin running from outside the bar.
A description of the route is below for your information. Before the run, we take a group photo and after we drink and/or eat at the bar (not mandatory).
We will chat a bit before starting to run. The distance is about 10 kilometers (\~6 miles). However, there are plenty of opportunities to turn back before and sometimes people run a shorter distance. Each person runs at her/his own pace. Most of the time people are talking/chatting so it's honestly a casual run. Mini groups tend to form according to pace.
Please note people run at their own risk and please if you have any medical condition make sure you let someone know and be sensible, run within your abilities.

We kick off by running into the Ciutadella Park via the main gate. We then take a right to exit the park and immediately take a left to run alongside the round wall of the zoo (Passeig de Cicumvallacio). We then turn right at Carrer de Ramon Trias Fargas and head towards the beach. We then take a left turn and run along the beach heading northeast. Along the coast, we cross the Passeig Maritim de la Mar Bella for a quick stop at the water fountain and then turn back. The main change on the way back is that we turn right at the tram station along the other wall of the zoo (continuation of Carrer de Wellington) and once we reach the end of the wall, we are back to Passeig Pujades where we end our run.

• What is it? - This class is for all levels from novice to advanced runners, where we will train you to run fast.

Las clases son dinámicas, divertidas y adaptadas para que cualquier persona, incluso sin experiencia, pueda empezar desde cero.
⚽ **Técnicas fundamentales**
Para jugar bien al futevóley, hay varias técnicas básicas que se deben dominar:
• **Control con el pie**: Es la base del juego, permite recibir y dirigir el balón con precisión.
• **Toque de pecho**: Muy importante para amortiguar balones y preparar jugadas.
• **Cabeceo**: Clave tanto en defensa como en ataque, especialmente cerca de la red.
• **Control con muslo**: Ayuda a mantener el balón en juego en situaciones difíciles.
• **Remate** (ataque): Movimientos acrobáticos como la chilena o la bicicleta son característicos del deporte.
• **Colocación**: El segundo toque que prepara el ataque, requiere precisión y visión de juego.

**What to Expect:** This is a challenging group ride designed for fit and experienced cyclists. We'll ride together as a group, either single-file or double-file depending on traffic conditions. This is an interval training ride, meaning we'll push above threshold on the ascents and take it easy on the descents and flat sections. While we wait a few minutes at key points, this is not a beginner ride. Please be prepared to be dropped if you can't keep up with the pace.
**Is This Ride for Me?** While this ride is open to everyone, we ask that you are comfortable riding in groups, have a road bike, and have done rides of similar distance and elevation before. We welcome all newcomers but everyone is expected to be self-sufficient, therefore please bring not only your bike but also sync the route, bring phone, cash and lights.
**Safety:** Ride leaders will do their best to keep the group together, moving smoothly and safely at all times. We'll stop at red lights and obey traffic rules. Ultimate safety starts and ends with everyone riding responsibly, and everyone will be responsible for their own safety. There's no commercial interest behind this event; it's just a bunch of people sharing a fun day out.

Hola, ¿Quién se anima a correr o caminar en Barceloneta mientras el sol nace?
**#¿Qué hacemos?**
Quedamos delante de Buenas Migas de Barceloneta. Después de un breve calentamiento, unos salimos a correr y otros van a caminar. Todos, nos reunimos al final para charlar mientras algunos aprovechan de un buen chapuzón en el mar (opcional - traer bañador y toalla si os animáis). Con los que no tienen prisa vamos a tomar un café/desayuno después.
**#¿Qué nivel necesitas?**
Ninguno, no importa si lo que te gusta es caminar, si estas empezando en el mundo del running o si eres un(a) campeón(a), estas bienvenid@. En general, somos entre 10 y 25 personas. Nos reunimos al principio y al final de la actividad, pero nos dividimos en 3 o 4 grupos más pequeños en función de nuestros ritmos y de las distancias que queremos hacer.
Los que caminan, los que corren tranquilamente (6 - 7,30 min por km), a ritmo medio (5 - 6min por km), y los que quieren ir más rápido (4 - 5 min por km).

Who’s in for a Sunrise run or walk in Barceloneta?
**#What do we do?**
After a short warm-up, some of us go running and the others go for a walk. We all meet again at the end to chat while some of us enjoy a refreshing splash in the sea (optional - bring a swimsuit and towel if you’re in). For those who are not in a hurry, we then go to have a coffee / breakfast close by.
**#What level of running/walking is required?**
None, it does not matter if what you like is walking, if you are a beginner runner or if you are a champion, you are welcome, and you won’t get lost. In general, we are between 10 and 25 people. We meet at the beginning and at the end of the activity, but we divide ourselves into 3 or 4 smaller groups according to our pace and the distances we want to run/walk. Those who walk, the “tranquilo” runners (6 - 7.30 min per km), those who go at a medium pace (5 - 6min per km), and those who want to run faster (4 - 5 min per km).

⛰️ Parque Nacional de Aigüestortes: senderismo en paisajes alpinos 🐿️ 🌲
🌊Apúntate a esta escapada inolvidables de **fin de semana** en los Pirineos catalanes, que incluye dos espectaculares rutas alpinas en el Parque Nacional de Aigüestortes (mínimo: 15).
**✅ La propuesta:**
El sábado por la mañana descubriremos Aigüestortes en una fabulosa ruta circular que explora paisajes geológicos más antiguos de Cataluña y de increíble belleza natural, con lagos glaciares y cimas escarpadas que quitan el hipo: Estanys de Sant Maurici, La Ratera, La Cabana, Gran Amitges, Barbs, Obagues de Ratera 🐿️ 🌲El domingo haremos una refrescante ruta por el Bosque del Gerdar, en las inmediaciones de La Bonaigua, donde nos adentraremos en los fascinantes bosques de avetos del parque y donde lxs más valientes podrán darse un baño en el riu Cabanes ⛰️🌊.
**🚗¿Cómo nos desplazamos allí?:**
Compartiremos coches particulares saliendo desde Barcelona (Palau Reial), el viernes 19 de junio a las 17:30h. Dividiremos los gastos de gasolina (65€ por coche) entre los ocupantes (menos el conductor!)
💪🏼 **Dificultad:**
Las rutas requieren moderada experiencia caminando por la montaña (con 800m de desnivel y 19 Km para el primer dia, y 500m de desnivel y 9 km el segundo), apta para personas con vértigo.
**🏠 Alojamiento y comidas:**
Nos alojaremos en habitaciones cuádruples de un albergue moderno y cómodo en Espot. Desayuno incluido. Pediremos los picnics para el sábado y domingo allí mismo. El sábado cenaremos en algún restaurante típico de la zona.
**🥾 Material a llevar:**
* Calzado de montaña (no bambas) y ropa adecuada para senderismo (botas y pantalones largos)
* Chubasquero por si nos pilla tormenta
* Bastones de montaña (MUY recomendado)
* Ropa de baño, chanclas, etc.
* Gafas de sol, crema solar, gorra o sombrero
* Neceser con productos higiene personal: tapones, ropa para después de la ruta, toalla, etc.

🐝 Crestas y picos • Pallars vs Val d’Aran ☀️2D/1N🌜
Como sé que sois gente apasionada y soñadora, con sensibilidad tanto por los paisajes llenos de lagos y perfiles afilados de roca como por la biodiversidad de los bosques y los prados, iremos a la frontera entre Aigüestortes y Val d'Aran en la mejor época del año. Anticipando el solsticio encontraremos abetos, hayas y robles con brotes de un verde irreal, orquídeas floreciendo con timidez y marmotas chillonas tomando el sol.
🍀El sábado haremos una flipante ascensión a 6 picos entre 2400 y 2600 m. Una excursión corta pero intensa, variando entre pendientes de hierba y algunos tramos de cresta.
Después de la fantástica cena de nuestro refugio iremos a visitar la impresionante cascada de Gerber.
🍀El domingo realizaremos una ascensión al poco conocido y muy espectacular Tuc de Parros (2731 m).
Nos sumergiremos en el territorio inhóspito y sublime del Parc de l'Alt Pirineu, con fascinación y con seguridad. Y como siempre, nos ubicaremos en el espacio y aprenderemos la orientación con mapa y brújula.
Descubriremos la increíble biodiversidad de este parque natural, territorio del oso pardo, de los ciervos que braman en otoño y de esos bosques donde siempre parece que algo se mueve entre las sombras.
🏰 Nuestro palacio será el refugio de montaña con comida casera de dioses ubicado en el abetal más mágico de toda Europa.

\ *Tiempo estimado con paradas: 7h
\* Dificultad: **MEDIA**. Ruta de alta montaña físicamente exigente y con desnivel considerable. Algunos pasos de trepada con piedra suelta.
🔔 Todo participante asume que está en condiciones de hacer la excursión y debe comunicar cualquier dolencia que pueda afectar al desarrollo óptimo de la actividad.
🔔 La ruta puede sufrir cambios acorde con las condiciones meteorológicas y estado del terreno (nieve, ríos con mucho caudal, etc).
📣Aviso: en caso de baja de ultima hora (menos de 96h) la persona que se dé de baja tendrá que pagar todo el importe de la excursión y del transporte (si no va en su propio coche). This is an in-person meeting.
Did you know that unwanted emotions like loneliness, sadness, hopelessness, anger, fear, anxiety, or feelings of irritation don’t just fall on you for no reason. They are not random occurrences that simply happen to people's minds. They are definitely not chemical imbalance in your brain due to some nebulous chemical reactions by chance.
Your negative emotions are the symptoms of the painful experiences that you have which are not healed, and which are still affecting you.
The effects of these painful experiences are exacerbated by the pressures or difficulties of the other problems in your life.
For instance, let's say you are already carrying a huge load on your back, then you cannot take on much more, but, let's say something else happens to you, such as the difficulties from the Pandemic, then the resultant combined weight on you can take you over the edge, kind of like the straw that break the camel's back. When this happens, people's attention usually goes to the straw that was added, but actually the majority of the weight had come from the huge load that were already there, holding a person down and causing a person issues.
So how do you remove the huge load that was already there? How do you lighten them up? Is it possible to get rid of them?
That is what this meeting will be all about.
