We will be playing the once hard-to-get, but now reprinted classic economic strategy game, **Container**. The rules for Container are simple: build factories and warehouses, manufacture, ship, and auction containers. But the strategy is complex: set prices, time the market, and maximize profits. With minimal luck and plenty of negotiation, Container offers a tense and interactive experience full of clever deals and surprising market swings. We will have multiple copies of the game. Let us know if you can bring yours. If we get more RSVPs than we have copies, we will play a second economic strategy game.

Join us for a training walk on the WO&D. For this initial walk, we'll strive to maintain a 20-21 minute mile pace. The goal is to begin ramping up in order to maintain a 16 minute mile pace with minimal stopping for 90 minutes. **Meeting Time & Location:** Meet us at 6:30 PM near Isaac Newtown square. Our route will follow a combination of the park's loop trails, offering a pleasant mix of forest scenery and easy-to-moderate hiking. If you like to sleep in on Sunday mornings, this magnificent hike at Catoctin Mountain Park close to Camp David in Thurmont, MD is for you. Our moderate-to-strenuous 8.5-mile circuit with 1370 ft. in elevation gain includes some spectacular views and attractions. Some of the sights we’ll enjoy along the way include Cunningham Falls (highest in Maryland), Hog Rock overlook, Blue Ridge vista, Thurmont vista, the Wolf Rock formation, and the Chimney Rock overlook. Meet at the Grovesnor-Strathmore Metro station by 1:30 p.m. and please answer the Meetup questions so we can organize carpools. The Big Slackwater section of the C&O Canal south of Williamsport, MD was completely closed for more than 20 years because the towpath, squeezed into an incredibly narrow corridor between the Potomac on one side and high cliffs on the other, got flooded out once too often. This section has reopened after a $15 million restoration project that should solve the flooding problem. Starting from the Canal's Dam #4, we will head upstream and soon reach the inlet lock that marks the lower end of the Big Slackwater section. The next few miles should be both unusually scenic and unusually interesting as we admire the sturdily-rebuilt towpath beneath our feet. We continue past quaint McMahon Mill and Howell Cave (no relation that we know of) to Lock 41, where the Canal as we usually think of it resumes, with a prism and berm as well as the towpath. Total length of our easy stroll is about 8 miles. Bring beverages, lunch, and about $15 for transportation and trip fees.
