[Online] Getting Started with 3D Printing: Choosing Your First Printer
[Online] Getting Started with 3D Printing: Choosing Your First Printer
**This is an online event.** The WhatsApp group link and Google Meet link will be shared later. Interested in 3D printing but not sure where to start? Thinking about buying a printer but overwhelmed by the number of options, technologies, reviews, and recommendations online? Many people begin by looking at printer specifications or asking for advice online, only to end up more confused than before. The reality is that there is no single "best" 3D printer. The right choice depends on what you want to create, how much time you want to spend learning, and what level of maintenance and tinkering you're comfortable with. In this online meetup, we'll explore the current 3D printing landscape and discuss the key questions every beginner should ask before making a purchase. We'll compare different printer technologies, explain the advantages and trade-offs of popular designs, and look at real-world use cases ranging from practical household items and prototypes to miniatures, cosplay, and creative projects. We'll also cover the less obvious aspects of owning a 3D printer, including materials, maintenance, software, common beginner mistakes, and the hidden costs that are often overlooked when choosing a machine. The goal of this meetup is not to tell you which printer to buy, but to help you understand what you actually need and why. By the end of the session, you'll have a clearer picture of whether 3D printing is right for you and which type of printer best matches your interests, budget, and expectations. **No previous experience is required.** Bring your questions and curiosity, and let's explore the world of 3D printing together.

No pressure to perform. No intimidating crowds. \-\-\- . We often hear how difficult it can be to make new friends as an adult and particularly when moving abroad; or when rebuilding social circles cos old friends have moved away or onto new life phases. . Socialising attempts often mean standing in a crowded room, wearing a polite smile, and answering the same three questions: *"What do you do?" "Where are you from?" "How long have you been here?"* Great for breaking the ice, but rarely leading to something inspiring or meaningful. It’s exhausting. It feels like a performance. . While the absence of authentic connection and meaningful conversations can sometimes leave us feeling a little lonely or like we don't belong. . **Authentic You Me** *was born with a desire to change that.* . \-\-\- **Welcome to Authentic You Me**, the home of mindful, intentional socials we baptised as 𝗦𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 - our own thoughtful, refreshing and carefully crafted way of changing how we meet and connect with others. Designed to suit both introverts & extroverts. . . **\*\*\*Please note that this is a purpose-led PAID event.
