London Society TALK - Deep conversations
London Society TALK - Deep conversations
Have you ever wanted to gather together and talk about insightful topics which broadens your thinking and knowledge? If so, this may be the right event for you. Welcome to the ‘Deep conversations’ event where you get the opportunity to share your views based on the topics that we may cover. The last time this was executed, it not only went well but we managed to learn from one another which broadened our thinking. With this particular event, the topics we’ll discuss are: * Love vs Lust * What does Valentine’s Day mean to you? * Marriage vs relationship without marriage * How do you define Love? * The male mindset vs the female mindset when it comes to relationships * Were you in a relationship in the past and If so, what did you learn? We get so preoccupied with daily life that we hardly have a chance to sit back and think as well as discuss many topics in such depth. When was the last time you sat back and thought about anything in depth which opened your eyes to so many possibilities and broadened your thinking? Now is your chance to share your views and learn from one another. By participating in this, you could broaden your ways of thinking, learn new lessons or even heal if you have your hidden struggles. My fellow explorers, if you enjoyed the event, I’m more than happy to accept any donations which of course are optional but will go a long way to help me unlock and deliver even more exciting and engaging events and resources: https://www.paypal.me/calvinjoy WHAT - Deep conversations

FULL - Social Bouldering Night | London 20s and 30s
FULL - Social Bouldering Night | London 20s and 30s
**We don’t do boring Wednesdays and so this week, we’re hugely excited to be hosting our latest sports & fitness social to spice up your midweek.** Yep that’s right - for this latest social, we’re excited to be heading back to Rise Climbing, near Canning Town for our **latest Social Bouldering Night,** exclusively for 20s and 30s. If you’ve never been bouldering before, it’s perhaps the most social form of free climbing and one of the fastest growing sports in the world. Unlike other forms of rock climbing, bouldering is free from ropes and harnesses and instead offers soft, safety mats and low walls to encourage climbers to explore their physical limits in a safe environment. But it’s not just a great work out for your body, the venue offers a range of wall challenges of varying design and difficulty that will test your problem solving skills, as well as your creativity, technique and balance. And it is the challenge element that makes bouldering one of the social sports around at present, as it is great spark for conversation in your shared attempts to take on the range of climbing routes on together. Best of all, we’ve been able to organise this **bouldering session, along with shoe hire and a free induction, all** **for just 10.85pp!** And after the bouldering, they'll be an option to head to a nearby pub so you can get a drink, share experience and get to know your fellow climbers a little better. It should be a really enjoyable night and we'd love to see lots of you there but sadly, these places are very limited and so we will be offered on a first come, first serve basis. And so if you are keen to join, please do RSVP as soon as you can! **\- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \- \-** **WHERE/WHEN WE WILL MEET** Venue - Rise Climbing, Unit 6, Caxton Works, Hoy St, London E16 1ZA Location: [https://maps.app.goo.gl/A4WeBXwKstoiamGb6](https://maps.app.goo.gl/A4WeBXwKstoiamGb6) Closest Tube stations: Canning Town (10 min walk), Royal Victoria (10 min walk) Meet Time - 7:30pm (N.B. ADHD SOCIAL: Chit-chat n Snacks | Mercato Metropolitano | London SE1 6DR
ADHD SOCIAL: Chit-chat n Snacks | Mercato Metropolitano | London SE1 6DR
This week’s **Yay!-DHD Social** is at \*\*Mercato Metropolitano (\*\*42 Newington Causeway, London SE1 6DR), which is large, gently heated space (thankfully!) full of snack/dinner options you’ll think about ordering for an unnecessarily long time before choosing something you immediately defend as “the right call, actually”. This is Yay-DHD: a midweek social that reliably attracts people with ADHD, people who suspect they might have ADHD, and people who’ve simply noticed that most socials feel like admin with drinks. You do not need a diagnosis to attend, everyone is welcome! **What to expect:** Starts at 6.15pm, ends around 10pm, obviously come and go as you please. We are a social group, so fairly easy going and chatty. Don't worry if you're a newbie, we all were once and I (Kieran) know it can be nerve wracking to attend for the first time - It will be ok! We’ll be eating, drinking, talking, interrupting ourselves, losing the thread, finding a better one, and occasionally stopping mid-sentence because someone else’s food looks more interesting. Some people arrive straight from work looking mildly haunted. Others drift in later having almost stayed home. Everyone will, at some point, forget what they were saying. Mercato is ideal for this sort of thing. There’s movement, background buzz but not noisy, and enough going on that wandering off mid-conversation looks deliberate rather than rude. If you go quiet, it just seems like you’re thinking. If you leave early, nobody questions it — they’re too busy choosing between eight cuisines. If you’ve been scrolling Meetup wondering which event requires the least amount of social performance, this is probably the one. We’ll be there from 6.15pm spread across tables, quietly judgemental about food choices (including our own), and relieved it’s Wednesday and not Thursday. *** **A quick note on boundaries:** Yay-DHD is a space where people feel safe and at ease. Not everyone is looking to connect beyond the event or pursue anything romantic, so please be mindful of that and respect boundaries at all times. Obviously, we want friendships to develop, so perhaps give it some time and consideration before asking if someone wants to stay in touch. \-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\- For you robots out there: \| ADHD \| LONDON ADHD \| ADHD SOCIAL\| MAKE NEW FRIENDS \| LONDON \| 42 Newington Causeway\, London SE1 6DR

INFJ Hangout (Late-February)
INFJ Hangout (Late-February)
Join us for our chilled Sunday afternoon Meetup, for connection and sanctuary amongst others who get you. We don't have a theme for this Meetup but please bring any topics you'd like to discuss and we'll also have the conversation cards with us. We'll meet at the Southbank Balcony Bar on the 5th Floor of Royal Festival Hall. The easiest way to find us is to enter through the main entrance and take the lift to the fifth floor - we'll try to sit at that end on a big table & will have a Meetup sign on display. We'll also comment on the day. There is an entrance to Royal Festival Hall that is quite close to the Nelson Mandela (INFJ) statue and there is also an entrance to the ground floor around the corner. Lifts are at either end of the building. You can buy either alcoholic or soft drinks, or tea/coffee at the bar. This venue is usually quieter than Picturehouse and there appears to be no concerts that day. Please note you don't have to be well-versed on Myers-Briggs Type Indicator to attend; we are merely looking to build a community of like-minded people for fun, support and connection. There are always some people who don't come on the day, so if you're top of the waitlist, it's very likely you'll be bumped up, so please come anyway and equally if you would really like to come, please do. We're not going to turn you away! If there's a lot of attendees, we'll split into 2 groups.

SOLD OUT • TEiP DEEP: A small group, deep dive into a single Thought Experiment
A **smaller, quieter, and less rushed** edition of THOUGHT EXPERIMENTS IN PUBS. At TEiP DEEP, we have the chance to spend a whole hour and a half on **one thought experiment**, exploring different perspectives, coming up with new questions, listening and learning from one another. **How it works:** \- We split into small groups for each chapter of the thought experiment \(3\-4\)\. \- We shuffle every 25 mins to meet new people and change things up\. \- And at the end we'll have a brief group reflection\, sharing ideas and insights \- this will be lightly facilitated to ensure that everyone has a chance to speak if they want to \(no pressure\)\. Some simple ground rules to keep our conversation the best it can be: * respect for one another’s perspectives, beliefs, time (etc.) * confidentiality of personal stories * own your perspective * you don’t have to talk if you don’t want to. Our aim is the same as our bigger Thought Experiments in Pubs meetups: **a chance to meet and talk at about meaningful, thought provoking things**. Although we’ll be going a bit ‘deeper’, we’ll keep the intention to have an enjoyable evening, with good humour and fun. Places are limited to 15-20 people and tickets are £5. Please update your RSVP if you can no longer attend so that someone else can have your place. **Who should come:** Everyone! We believe that the more perspectives, the richer the conversation. This group is not about being experts in Philosophy, it is about *doing* philosophy. That is, bringing our various life experiences and lenses on the world to group discussions about the human experience, the nature of reality...etc. etc.... **Where we'll meet:** The Fitzroy Tavern in Fitzrovia. The nearest Tube stations are Goodge Street and Tottenham Court Road. Looking forward to meeting & talking with you :-) **[WHATSAPP GROUP](https://chat.whatsapp.com/D13LHw5BV3rEtUtO3ORklC)** \- stay in the loop **[INSTAGRAM](https://www.instagram.com/thoughtexperimentsinpubs/)** \- see what we look like **[FACEBOOK](www.facebook.com/thoughtexperimentsinpub)** \- ditto **[WEBSITE](www.alltogether.one)** \- sign up to the newsletter\, support\, & feed back #philosophyinpubs #inclusivity #openmindedness #deepdive #TEiPdeep

Join us for a beautiful spring countryside walk from Virginia Water Lake and finishing near Windsor Castle. Many of our members attend our trips solo, however feel free to invite your friends and family. Expect: • Waterfalls, Deer Park & woodland • Blossoms & lakeside paths • Relaxed social pace • Ice cream, Café or pub stop in Windsor • Most attendees come solo This is a scenic 7–8 mile walk at a comfortable pace. Come alone. Walk together. Finish with castle views. Limited spaces to keep the group manageable. Walk. Bloom. Connect. Perfect for: • Solo socialisers • Nature lovers • People staying in London for the bank holiday • Those wanting fresh air without going abroad Check photos of our past visit, it was a lovely trip which was enjoyed by us all https://www.meetup.com/Passionate-about-Travelling-Food-and-Events/photos/31438998/#496630274 Towards the north of the park, on a rise, is the copper horse statue. From there, the 4km Long Walk, an iconic tree lined path, slopes downhill to Windsor Castle, besides the Thames. Virginia Water Lake was originally little more than a stream. During World War II, the lake was drained, as its obvious shape provided enemy guidance at night to Windsor and other important military targets in the area. It has been used by the crews for the Harry Potter films for lakeside scenes. The Cascade, or Waterfall, is also notable. It was constructed from stones brought from Bagshot Heath. They are rumoured to be the remains from a Saxon settlement. From the Cascade a stream runs through a glen and ultimately enters the Thames at Chertsey. By the side of the Cascade, immense stones are arranged to form a cavern known as 'The Robber's Cave'. **Walk description** Distance: 7 - 8 miles Grading: Easy no steep hills, flat path all the way Rating: 2 out of 10 Ascent: 189m Walk time: About 4.5 to 6.5 hours of actual walk/stroll, depending how fast we walk and how many of us. On my first trip during Covid there were 30 of us, it took 6 hours to arrive to Windsor due to the size and lack of exercise as a result of being cooped up at home for way too long, we had a few breaks along the way while others caught up with us. Recently with a smaller group of 15 to 20 it took us 4 hours. There will be 2 or 3 10 to 15 minutes break during our walk, as well as a 30 minutes lunch break where we can have a picnic on the grass. On our arrival to Winsor, you can opt to break up into small groups, a chance for some to visit the castle, this will cost extra to enter, there is a shopping centre, and several eateries joints, or some may wish to walk along the River Thames path etc. This will be the 5th time i have organised this walk and we always end up at Lebanese Night which i discovered on my first visit. A restaurant severing delicious halal food and the price is quite reasonable too, check out website for details and menu [Lebanese Nights Windsor, Berkshire SL4 1PR - Menu, Reviews (94), Photos (20) - Restaurantji](https://www.restaurantji.co.uk/berkshire/windsor/lebanese-nights-/) So on arrival in Windsor after exploring you will find a few of us here address 41 Thames St, Windsor **MEETING POINT** We will meet at Clapham Junction Train station at 9 am outside Marks and Spencer. Please note that this train ticket will allow you to leave from Windsor to London from Windsor and Eton riverside train station. **FOOD** We will stop during the hike for a snack lunch so please bring food and drink. We will visit a pub after the hike where we can get refreshments. **Price £30 non refunded unless cancelled, minus PayPal fees** **What to Bring** • Suitable and comfortable clothing, hiking boots are not necessary as there are no steep hills, flat surface all the way. How to Take Control of YOUR Mental Health
How to Take Control of YOUR Mental Health
It’s time to take control of your mental health. How do you get rid of stress, anxiety and uncertainty? These emotions are buried deep in your reactive mind. Find out what the reactive mind is, and in the process find yourself. Here is the secret of being positive and free: Thinking positively is not enough. You also have to get rid of the negative thinking. Your mind is like a garden. You can plant many beautiful flowers in it, but if you don't get rid of the weeds when you plant your flowers, the weeds will soon take over the whole garden. A positive thought is like a flower in your mental garden, and a negative thought is like a weed. You cannot expect to have a positive mindset if you continue to have negative thoughts dwelling and growing there. So, how do you get rid of the negative thoughts? That's what this Meetup is all about. Attend this local meeting and find out! The Meetup event will be led by a consultant who had helped many people live happier in life. Be sure to click on the red "Attend" button below to come to this local event. We look forward to seeing you there. This group is created by the Dianetics & Scientology life improvement center.
Anger and Resentment, How to Handle their Source and Live a Better Life
Anger and Resentment, How to Handle their Source and Live a Better Life
Wouldn’t it be nice to find a way to overcome your feelings of anger so that you not only control them, but you no longer have the urge to lose your temper in the first place? And how about being able to shake off resentments, persistent annoyance, or even feelings of vengeance? We’d like to invite you to an event on how to overcome anger and resentment. We will show you why people have trouble controlling their temper and where resentment comes from. Flaring anger can ruin a meeting, a relationship, an opportunity, or just about any aspect of life. Worst of all, outbursts towards our family can create hurt that lingers throughout a lifetime. You want to have a civil conversation, and you’ve vowed that you wouldn’t lose your temper, but a few minutes later, the anger flares up. Maybe you’ve realized that being angry doesn’t get you what you want so you internalize it. Or maybe you avoid the knockdown, drag-out fights, but stewing in resentment is exhausting and takes an emotional toll. In this event we show you how to get to the root of your anger so that it stops being an issue to you. You’ll also learn why people harbor resentments and how to move on. Don't continue to struggle, make a difference in your life, and join us for this local event. Be sure to click on the red "Attend" button below to come to the event. We look forward to seeing you there. This Meetup is sponsored by your local Dianetics and Scientology Life Improvement Center.
