It's UPHILL on the way out, but a glorious DOWNHILL on the way home! This is the Medium level ride because we're going to keep a pace of 13-15mph on flat stretches (slower on hills) and the total distance is approximately 16 miles. This is a NO DROP ride so you will not be left behind but you are expected to try to keep a B-Group level pace (NFT 15mph). **++++++++++++++++++++** **The Meeting Spot:** **++++++++++++++++++++** Shirlington Library 4200 Campbell Ave Arlington, VA 22206 GPS: [https://goo.gl/maps/GXU2cMAG7672](https://goo.gl/maps/GXU2cMAG7672) We will meet directly in front of the library by the fountains. **++++++++++++++++++++** **The Ride After The Ride:** **++++++++++++++++++++** We’ll head to Samuel Beckett’s after the ride for a drink and food. We sit outside so we can bring our bikes and keep an eye on them. Join us if you like! **++++++++++++++++++++** **Ride Level Chart** **++++++++++++++++++++** NoVA CBG tries to accommodate all levels of cyclists by offering different types/levels of rides. We just ask that you come to the ride that suits your current riding ability the best. * Introductory Level: If you haven't ridden a bike in a number of years (or are uncertain of your abilities on a bicycle). * Beginner Level: You can ride for 10+ miles at a pace of 10+ to 12+ mph with potentially minor hills involved. * Medium Level: You can ride for 20+ miles at a pace of 13+ to 15+ mph with potentially moderate hills involved. * Advanced Level: You can ride for 20++ miles at a pace of 15+ mph with potentially major hills involved. Both Medium and Advanced Levels might require handling various challenges such as reading cue sheets, using a Garmin or navigation app, night riding, out of town travel, or any other odd cycling situations. **++++++++++++++++++++** **The Fine Print:** **++++++++++++++++++++** An RSVP of 'YES' is your digital signature and means you have read and understood MEETUP.com's: * "Terms of Service : Section 6. Release " found at https://www.meetup.com/terms/ * NOVA-CBG's "Assumption of Risk Agreement" found @ https://www.meetup.com/novacbg/pages/1942951/NOVA-CBG_Waiver/ Helmets are required to participate in all NOVA-CBG rides. NO exceptions. All riders ride at their own risk and with the understanding that cycling is an inherently dangerous activity. When coming to the meetup you do so voluntarily and are ready and able to participate in the ride as described under the conditions of the day. Be on time for the "pre-ride" preparation. If you do not attend the pre-ride preparation you will not be allowed to participate on the ride. Again, no exceptions.

NoVABeerSec - June 23rd @Starr Hill Tysons Biergarten (Tyson's, VA)
The next NoVABeerSec event - "Informal Gathering of Security Minds Over Beer'' will be Tuesday, June 23rd, 5:30PM til 7ish at Starr Hill Tysons Biergarten (1805 Capital One Dr S Suite 1100, Tysons, VA 22102). **Venue for June:** Starr Hill Brewery / Biergarten (Outdoor) **\*\*\* The Biergarten is primarily an outdoor venue, if the weather isn't cooperating we'll shift into Brewpub located on the ground level next to Capital One Hall \*\*\*** In the early 1990s, Charlottesville native, Mark Thompson took his biology degree from James Madison University and moved to Portland, Oregon, ground zero for craft beer’s growth in America. The natural blend of art and science poured into the brewing scene inspired him to take up the craft. Working alongside brewers in Oregon and Colorado, Mark honed his own artisan beer recipes. An old friend looking to start a brewpub and music hall back in Charlottesville eventually lured Mark back to Virginia. In September 1999, they partnered to found Starr Hill Brewery out of a passion for great beer and live music. Named after the local neighborhood, the brewery shared its original space with the Starr Hill Music Hall. The historic storefront on Main Street was once home to the state of Virginia’s first craft brewing operation, Blue Ridge Brewing Company. **Additional Info:** We are an inclusive group, so if we missed anyone please let us know or if you want to bring your significant other/spouse please do. Have a great week and see you next month! Cheers, Rinaldi Rampen & Mike McCabe of @NoVABeerSec

Build Together: Donuts, Founder Conversations, & Co-Working
This is a relaxed but intentional Saturday hangout for young entrepreneurs. **Note:** Only 10 spots are available to RSVP on Meetup, but the event capacity is **40 people total**. If the event appears full, please join the waitlist - I will approve additional attendees until we reach the 40-person limit. We'll meet at MLK Library for donuts, conversations with other people who are building, and time to work on our businesses. **Come prepared to talk through a business challenge or something you'd like to improve.** During the meetup, you'll have the opportunity to: * Talk through a business blocker or something you're trying to improve * Get perspectives, ideas, and feedback from other entrepreneurs * Ask questions and brainstorm solutions together * Spend time actually working on your business Whether that's: * Fixing your landing page * Outlining your launch * Clarifying your pricing * Validating a business idea * Building your MVP * Improving your marketing * Or finally taking the next step on something you've been putting off The goal isn't just to leave with new ideas - it's to leave having made real progress. There's no pressure to pitch yourself or have everything figured out. Whether you're just getting started or already running a business, come to ask questions, help others, and build alongside people who are doing the same. **Bring:** * Your laptop * One thing you're ready to work on * An open mind I'll bring the donuts. 🍩 If you're looking for a community where entrepreneurs actually help each other solve problems and build together—not just network—this is for you.

Pitch Labs for Entrepreneurs - Shirlington Library
Pitch Labs for Entrepreneurs - Shirlington Library
Styled after a 'pitch competition', this event is for entrepreneurs, and the entrepreneurial-curious. Learn about on-going initiatives from local area founders, and there will be ample time for networking. This event will bring together start-up founders and enthusiasts in the DMV area for an exciting opportunity to hear about a fellow founder, and give feedback on their pitch and product, and get to network around founders from the area. ## Details **Location:** 4200 Campbell Avenue Arlington, Virginia 22206 **Our Agenda:** 1\. Basic group introductions 2\. First "Pitch" Presentation \(\~10 minutes\) 3\. Community Q&A 4\. Second "Pitch" Presentation \(\~10 minutes\) 5\. Community Q&A 6\. Third "Pitch" Presentaton \(\~10 minutes\) 7\. Community Q&A 8\. Break out sessions & general networking **Speakers** Chelsea Acheampong (Nova Hospitality): Nova Hospitality is a consumer travel platform connecting conscious travelers directly with verified eco-lodges and community-run properties, redirecting tourism revenue back into local communities through transparent impact verification and direct booking Cameron Peltz (Caldarium): Caldarium is a health admin tech company building software solutions for medical practices, to automate prior authorization paperwork and detect errors in reimbursement claims, to ensure compliance and reduce their rate of rejection by Medicare and insurance payers, getting patients the medicine and surgeries they need more quickly and reliably, and doctor's offices paid for their properly documented procedures correctly the first time and therefore in consistent better financial health. Achinth Murali (Open Judgement Engineering): The Open Judgment Engine (OJE) is an open-source methodology and AI-assisted platform that captures the reasoning behind non-routine engineering decisions — when a judgment applies, when it doesn’t, what the expert does, why it works, and what failure it guards against — as structured, attributed artifacts called Judgment Primitives, embedded directly into the workflow gates where engineers already make those decisions. The goal is to make expert engineering judgment portable, searchable, and permanent — so that when a senior engineer retires, the reasoning behind their decisions doesn’t retire with them. Join us for our monthly Pitch Labs meetup! This event will bring together start-up founders and enthusiasts in the DMV area for an exciting opportunity to hear about a fellow founder, and give feedback on their pitch and product, and get to network around founders from the area.
