The Connection Experiment
The Connection Experiment
We all want authentic, meaningful connection. But what does that look like in practice? What does it mean to connect truly and meaningfully with another? What does it mean to connect truly and meaningfully with ourselves? Join us in this lighthearted experimental space as we explore the theme of connection not through theory, but through intentional lived experience. Cultivate a deeper attunement with yourself and build self-trust while practising heartful connection with fellow likeminded women. You may walk away with a new friend or two! This event is held at a cosy art gallery in the City Hall area, and the group size is intentionally kept small to foster a more intimate connection. Welcome back to Rumble. This year our focus is to help you climb stronger, descend safer, and move more confidently on hikes. Warm-up & dynamic stretching 1. Stamina, Stability and Single Leg strengthening exercises with Stairs/Steps :) 1. Jogging/briskwalking between stations **Items to bring/wear** * comfortable sports attire and appropriate shoes * (Arm-length) Towel and water bottle * Most of us will be carrying our bags as part of hike training (you can choose to leave them in your car if you’re driving or bring a small bag) Make sure you are able to run with your bag! (e.g. BACKPACK) **Note:** * In the event of wet weather, the event will be cancelled. However, if it is just a light drizzle, we may still proceed with caution or head to AU office for Signature Indoor Workout. * If you will be late or unable to make it, please inform me in advance (WA +6597318648) or update your RSVP by 8 p.m. the night before so that I can inform the next person on the waitlist. * We’re capping this at **20 pax per session** so it stays focused and manageable. * Priority will go to 2026 AU trip participants and Elite AU club members. If there are slots left, it will be given to members of the publi.c If you’re on the waitlist, it may not move strictly in order as trip participants are prioritised. We will start on time so come at least 5 minutes earlier! If you’ve done Rumble before, you already know what this is about. If you haven’t — come try once. You’ll either love it or hate me slightly. Moms Unite, let's chat! Topic: Handling the Terribly Tender Toddler, 18-36 mths
This is a chat session for all moms who have toddlers aged between 18-36, we'll get-together and discuss all the wonderful frustrations we have with our 12 - 36 month tots and how we handle them. I will also share from a psychologist's perspective and books I have been reading, as well as run some role plays, if they are useful. If the below timing does not suit but you are interested in the session, please sign up and suggest alternative times! We'll try and find a time where everyone is available.

"Madonna in a Fur Coat" by Sabahattin Ali
\* Please note the change in venue. !Beware of scams & false impersonation! We do not feature new authors or charge a speaker fee but wish you the best. Country: Turkey Written in: 1943 Pages: 192 Still unheard of by many English readers, Madonna in a Fur Coat is long considered to be among the country's top literature in Turkey. Thanks to social media reviews on YouTube and TikTok (BookTok!), it's seen a recent resurgence in popularity. So after you read the book you should be able to find some extra content to feed you before the discussion! Here's a review from [Amazon](https://www.amazon.sg/Madonna-Fur-Coat-Sabahattin-Ali/dp/0241293855) Madonna in a Fur Coat by Sabahattin Ali is a quiet, deeply moving novel that lingers long after you finish reading. The story tells us about Raif Efendi, a man whose past reveals a deep, life-changing love in 1920s Berlin. Through his colleague’s eyes, one can see how people are easily misunderstood. Raif Efendi comes across as unremarkable and distant at first. As the story unfolds, you see the depth of his character. His time in 1920s Berlin, and his connection with Maria Puder form the heart of the story. Alongside him is the unnamed narrator, his colleague and friend, who becomes an important aspect in how we understand and see Raif. At first, the narrator thinks of Raif the same way everyone does, but later his perception shifts. This change adds another layer to the story, making the readers more curious about Raif. The portrayal of love makes the book stand out. It shows how two people can feel deeply for each other and still not be destined to be together. There is no clear reason to blame, which makes the story feel even more real. Raif’s journey feels both heartbreaking and enduring, as he carries his past quietly into the rest of his life. This is a story about love, loss, and the silent weight people carry. \*\*\*\*\* **New to the Hungry Hundred Book Club?** Here's what you need to know: 1. Read the book (If you don't manage to finish it by the meetup date, don't worry. As long as you're not going to be too disappointed by spoilers, you're still welcome to join.) 2. Come to the meeting, usually (but not always!) on the last Sunday of every month. 3. Be prepared to order food/drink at the venue to show our appreciation for letting us use their space. This is a requirement. A lot of time and effort has been put into finding a place that will accommodate our group without an outrageous minimum charge or rental fee, and you'll never be asked to contribute to organiser fees, so please show your respect and support for the restaurant that's letting us use their space. 4. Discuss! It's a casual conversation, so don't be afraid to ask questions and let us know what you think. 5. Starting in May 2026, attendance fees collected will be split 50% towards Meetup platform fees, and 50% donated to the Singapore Book Council (or other Singapore based charitable organisation). Once Meetup platform fees are covered, 100% will be given to charity.
Friday Afternoon @ Dignity Mama + reading @ Kent Ridge (Huggs Coffee)
Friday Afternoon @ Dignity Mama + reading @ Kent Ridge (Huggs Coffee)
We're doing a little something special :-) We'll spend the first 15 min browsing (or buying!) second-hand books and/or donating our pre-loved books at **[Dignity Mama](https://www.projectdignity.sg/dignity-mama)**, a social enterprise that provides employment opportunities for young adults with disabilities and their caregivers. We will then head upstairs to **Huggs Coffee** at around 3.15PM for our regular reading session. Both Dignity Mama (#01-39) and Huggs Coffee (#02-07) are located at **One @ Kent Ridge** (turn right upon exiting MRT gantry). Note that buying or donating books is **entirely optional** \- feel free to join us just for the reading session if you’d prefer\! You can find the book donation requirements [here](https://www.projectdignity.sg/dignity-mama). Welcome! Gist below! :-) 1. Bring a book to the meet! 2. Buy a drink (and a bite if you're hungry). 3. Say hi to the folks. 4. Read! 5. We'll do a short round of intros and a short sharing at the end too. :) Come in and find us (we're probably the only reading group)! In the event that the place is full, we'll find a back up nearby. :-) This is a limited seats, small group event, so do try to update your RSVP early if your plans change! Thanks in advance! Join us as we get together to see Paul Rudd in the latest comedy-drama-musical from John Carney, POWER BALLAD! The film follows a washed-up wedding singer, a fading boy band singer and a stolen hit song. Here’s a description, trailer and plan for this event: DESCRIPTION: Rick, a washed-up wedding singer, and Danny, a fading boy band star, bond over music and a late-night jam session. When Danny turns Rick's song into a hit, Rick sets out to reclaim the recognition he believes he deserves. Power Ballad is written/directed by John Carney, the master of the modern musical and creative mind behind Once, Begin Again and Sing Street! It stars Paul Rudd, Nick Jonas, Peter McDonald, Marcella Plunkett, Havana Rose Liu and Jack Reynor. BUZZ & ACCLAIM: The film premiered to rave reviews at this year’s Dublin International Film Festival where critics call it “a sure-fired crowd-pleaser” that “just might be the feel-good hit of the year!” Others say, “Paul Rudd delivers a career-best performance in this charmer” that’s both “hilarious and deeply moving!” SUMMER OF ICE CREAM, VOL 2: SHAKE NO. 8! Jimmy V's Grill & Pub in Grandview Heights. You are responsible for your own meal/drinks. We usually don't have any agenda other than eat, drink and talk. :) If the weather is nice we will be on the back patio, otherwise we are in the cigar room. This group has been meeting every Tuesday evening for over a decade. Many attendees do not RSVP on meetup. Please don't let the small number here discourage you. Anyone/everyone is welcome to come. We'd love to have you join us. COTA bus #5 comes to W. 5th and Wyandotte Rd. And it's a minute walk to the restaurant.
