The Mastermind (2025)
The Mastermind (2025)
**Directed by [Kelly Reichardt](https://www.festival-cannes.com/en/p/kelly-reichardt/).** Nominated for the Palme d'Or at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival. **Please RSVP on Meetup if you plan to attend! Reserve your ticket in advance at the link below. We'll meet at the entrance to the movie theater at 20:00. The screening begins at 20:30.** *Kelly Reichardt’s take on an unconventional art heist unfolds as a quiet road movie. This skillful blend of genres earned the director widespread praise at Cannes last year.* *Massachusetts, 1970: James Blaine “JB” Mooney ([Josh O’Connor](https://www.imdb.com/name/nm4853066/?ref_=tt_ov_3_1)) is a carpenter by trade, but currently unemployed. To support his family, he plans a heist at the local art museum. After scouting the location and practicing a bit, everything seems ready. But when he sets out with his colleagues, a few surprises arise. Soon, JB is in the car, fleeing north.* *Kelly Reichardt’s latest film also fits perfectly into the “[The New New Frontier” retrospective](https://www.xenix.ch/programm/april-2026/the-new-new-frontier--granik-reichardt-zhao--more). The carefully composed, laconic genre blend of heist film and road movie invites repeated viewings: no shot seems random, and together with the actors’ understated performances, a focused narrative emerges that, with its subtle humor, repeatedly references the present. Once again, Reichardt has succeeded in creating an intelligent and fascinating reimagining of classic genres.* *Source: [Xenix](https://www.xenix.ch/programm/april-2026/premiere/the-mastermind/2026-04-29T20:30:00)* **Please [reserve your ticket online in advance](https://www.xenix.ch/programm/april-2026/premiere/the-mastermind/2026-04-29T20:30:00) to secure your spot. Seats cannot be reserved online, so we will coordinate seating arrangements at the theater before the screening. It's important to arrive early to pick up your tickets, so please be at Xenix by 20:00 at the latest. After the movie, we'll gather in the Xenix bar for a beverage and discussion of the film.**

✒️Ink & Drink: a Star is born ⭐️
✒️Ink & Drink: a Star is born ⭐️
Somewhere, in a hospital or a bedroom or a room you've never seen, you arrived. Outside, the world had no idea. The newspaper was already printed. The radio played on. History moved at its usual pace — completely indifferent to you. 🎂 But what if it wasn't? What if the world that day was, somehow, the world that made you? ✨ ✨ ✨ 🔍 🥂Join us for a historic Ink & Drink session, hosted by a very special guest, Deji. We will share a drink and start with a simple act of curiosity: Google your birth date, day, month, and year. Find out exactly what was happening in the world on the day you arrived — who else was born, what was being celebrated, what was falling apart or being built. Choose one event that really jumps out at you. Then, write. • Retell the story of your birth with this event in mind. Imagine the newspaper headlines that morning — did your mother read the paper? What was on her mind? • What conversations were happening in the room around you? What did the world smell like, sound like, feel like — on that very specific day? No prior writing experience is needed. Optional prompts will guide you, or you can follow your own instinct wherever it leads. Sharing at the end is always optional. ✒️ Ink & Drink is a creative writing evening in English — a relaxed, social gathering around words, ideas, and a shared drink. ✨ ✨ ✨ ☕️ The event is free — please plan to order at least one drink on site as a gesture of respect toward the Moudi restaurant hosting us. 🍲🧆For those who wish, you're warmly invited to stay afterward for a Lebanese dinner — a lovely way to continue conversations and grow a creative community together. Looking forward to rewriting history together! ✍️✨ ⌚️When: Wednesday, April 29 | 6:45 PM - 8:30 PM 📍 Location: Bei Moudi am Kunsthaus (restaurant/bar)

Designing for Behaviour Change: Build for Humans, Not the Backlog
Designing for Behaviour Change: Build for Humans, Not the Backlog
**Most products are designed to move people in a certain direction.** But when it comes to behaviour change, pressure and punishment **often** **backfire.** They may create short-term compliance, but they can also leave users feeling guilty, frustrated, or simply ready to give up. **In this talk, Mi Xue Tan explores how UX can support lasting behaviour change through positive reinforcement.** Instead of designing systems that fight human psychology, she looks at how we can build experiences that work with it — reducing resistance, creating motivation, and supporting small steps that add up over time. This matters for the UX community because every product shapes behaviour. When we design with human needs and motivation in mind, retention does not have to be forced. It can emerge more naturally through experiences that feel supportive, effective, and genuinely human. **[Mi Xue Tan](https://www.linkedin.com/in/mi-xue-tan-3030b5120/)** works at the intersection of data, user research, and human behavior. With a background in data science and UX research, her work xplores how thoughtful design and positive reinforcement can support meaningful behavior change. Her focus: using data, psychology, and good communication to **create experiences that people don’t just use — but stick with.** \-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\-\- 💬 The Talk is in **English** 📍 The event will be held at ETH Zürich Maschinenbau ML, **Room F36** We kindly ask you to arrive *10 minutes* early of the event start, so everyone can find a seat due to high attendance. *Thank you!*

Task-Buddies ✅ & Brunch 🥐: Let's work and study together! 📖 💻 ✍️
Welcome to the **Task-Buddies** event of the **Zürich Productivity Circle**, where we bring together like-minded individuals to work on personal goals and share the experience of growth in a supportive community. Maybe you are building a business or side hustle, studying for a course, learning a new (programming) language, figuring the tax system out, writing code, prose, or poetry, researching new stocks for your portfolio, tackling your German homework, or upskilling for your job. In all of these cases and more, this is the perfect space for you. In fact, productivity does not end there. Even if you just want to read a psychology book to resolve a personal struggle, sketch a mountain, listen to podcasts, organize your week, respond to unanswered emails and messages, enjoy a novel, or just reflect and meditate, you are very welcome here. For any task that adds positively to your life and can be done sitting down with others (exception: anything noisy/disruptive/disrespectful), you will fit into the events. We will meet at a work-friendly café in Zürich and follow the agenda below. **Agenda:** * **Introductions and food (20-30 mins):** Start with a round of introductions to get to know each other and share what we'll be working on, buy our food and drinks. * **Productive Work Session (1-2 hours)** Dive into your individual tasks in a focussed, distraction-free environment. * **Collective Break and Socializing (\~15 mins):** Take a planned break to stretch, chat, get more coffee, and share insights about your projects. * **Continued Work Session (1-2 hours):** Get back to your tasks with renewed focus and motivation. * **Wrap-Up and Reflections (15+ mins):** Conclude with a reflection on what we accomplished, share productivity tips or questions, discuss plans for future meetups, stay back for more chit chat if you like. **What to Bring:** * Your project or task materials (laptop, charger, books, sketchpad, pen, etc.) * Respectful and kind demeanour * A positive attitude and a willingness to share and learn **Note:** Please ensure that your tasks are suitable for a quiet, communal setting. We aim to maintain a respectful and conducive environment for everyone. **Venue Courtesy:** Out of courtesy for the venue, please order something drinks for yourself. This helps support the café and ensures we can continue to use their space for our meetups.
Photography at GP Mutschellen
Photography at GP Mutschellen
Join us for a day of photographing a variety of racing cars and motorbikes at this hillclimb event at Mutschellen (between Dietikon and Bremgarten). Although competitive racing (and specifically overtaking) are not allowed in Switzerland, there are occasionally some opportunities to see some racing cars and this is one. There is a paddock at the bottom where the cars and bikes are prepared and set off in groups up the hill. You can stand in various locations along the route. There are usually some stands selling food and drinks. **Tickets**: CHF20 per person, payable to the event organisers (not PICZ!) on arrival. If coming by car, **parking** is an additional CHF7. **\*\*if this Meetup event is full, of course you can come as a private individual, it may be difficult for more than about 10 members of the club to meet up and stay loosely together!\*\*** **You will need:** * Your camera (preferably with good predictive autofocus) * A variety of lenses, from standard or even wide angle for the paddock, to telephoto to follow the cars and bikes up the hill. * Advisable to bring at least something to drink, you may wish to bring your own lunch too. * Suitable shoes for walking/hiking, there are paths and also grassy fields, there may be some mud. * Clothes: the weather can be variable at this time of year, could be anything from rain to strong sunshine or a mix of both! **Meeting up:** I suggest we try to meet close to the paddock (before the start line) in the morning, although this can be noisy when the engines are started. I will create a WhatsApp group for participants. **Getting there:** * By car, there are temporary car parks in the fields typically on the north end of the site. Look for Bahnhof Rudolfstetten on your SatNav and then follow the signs to the car parks. * By public transport, travel to Bahnhof Rudolfstetten near Berikon & Widen, for example from Zürich HB, zou could take the S12 towards Brugg at 09:14, followed by he S17 at Dietikon at 09:33 to Rudolfstetten. * Please be aware this will be a very busy public event and you may need to queue to buy tickets to get in, so allow time to arrive and meet the group. Unknown Number: The High School Catfish
Unknown Number: The High School Catfish
A very unusual choice for his group... Unknown Number: High School Catfish is an American [true crime](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/True_crime "True crime") documentary film directed by [Skye Borgman](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skye_Borgman "Skye Borgman") and released to [streaming](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Streaming_media "Streaming media") on [Netflix](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Netflix "Netflix") on August 29, 2025. The documentary explores the events and investigation into an unknown person [cyberbully](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyberbullying "Cyberbullying") and [harassing](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harassment "Harassment") teenagers in [Beal City, Michigan](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beal_City,_Michigan "Beal City, Michigan") using an unknown number via insults and sexual claims. It also explores the increasingly great impact of the harassment on the community, the eventual reveal of the culprit, and the trial that followed. IMPORTANT INFO: I strongly suggest not reading anything about it online before seeing it. It's best viewed with no previous knowledge. This documentary contains crude terminology and deals with cyberbullying, which may be a trigger for some folks. PLEASE NOTE - WE ARE STARTING AT 6:30, WHICH IS THIRTY MINUTES EARLIER THAN USUAL. Unfortunately, it is only available on Netflix. If you would like to attend but do not have Netflix, say so and maybe we can figure something out.

Join us as we get together to see your choice of two VERY different movies – one sweet and wholesome – the other a terrifying folklore horror! Option 1 is the fun whodunnit-action-comedy-mystery led by Hugh Jackman, THE SHEEP DETECTIVES! Option 2 is the top-reviewed supernatural-horror-thriller starring Adam Scott, HOKUM! Here’s a description, trailer and plan for this event: THE SHEEP DETECTIVES: Every night a shepherd reads aloud a murder mystery, pretending his sheep can understand. When he is found dead, the sheep realize at once that it was a murder and think they know everything about how to go about solving it. The film is directed by Kyle Balda and take a look at this ensemble cast: Hugh Jackman, Nicholas Braun, Molly Gordon, Hong Chau and Emma Thompson and the voices of Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Bryan Cranston, Chris O'Dowd, Regina Hall, Patrick Stewart, Bella Ramsey, Brett Goldstein and Rhys Darby. TRAILER: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pyZI5oM6hWk HOKUM: In this film, a horror writer visits an Irish inn to scatter his parents' ashes, unaware the property is said to be haunted by a witch. It is written/directed by Damian McCarthy stars Adam Scott, Peter Coonan, David Wilmot, Florence Ordesh and Austin Amelio. Hokum premiered to rave reviews at this year’s SXSW Festival and is being release by Neon. It is earning a stellar 97% positive rating on Rotten Tomatoes, which calls it, “A classic haunted house story enriched with atmospheric folklore and perfectly-timed shocks!” TRAILER: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EVCIK_MPyhc PLAN: We’ll plan for a 7pm-ish showing of both films and will meet inside the theater lobby about 20 minutes before showtime. If the showtimes work out, we’ll try to get both groups together for a bite before the shows! Complete details and showtime will be confirmed/announced as the date gets closer.
