SOLD OUT • TEiP DEEP: A small group, deep dive into a single Thought Experiment
A **smaller, quieter, and less rushed** edition of THOUGHT EXPERIMENTS IN PUBS.
At TEiP DEEP, we have the chance to spend a whole hour and a half on **one thought experiment**, exploring different perspectives, coming up with new questions, listening and learning from one another.
**How it works:**
\- We split into small groups for each chapter of the thought experiment \(3\-4\)\.
\- We shuffle every 25 mins to meet new people and change things up\.
\- And at the end we'll have a brief group reflection\, sharing ideas and insights \- this will be lightly facilitated to ensure that everyone has a chance to speak if they want to \(no pressure\)\.
Some simple ground rules to keep our conversation the best it can be:
* respect for one another’s perspectives, beliefs, time (etc.)
* confidentiality of personal stories
* own your perspective
* you don’t have to talk if you don’t want to.
Our aim is the same as our bigger Thought Experiments in Pubs meetups: **a chance to meet and talk at about meaningful, thought provoking things**.
Although we’ll be going a bit ‘deeper’, we’ll keep the intention to have an enjoyable evening, with good humour and fun.
Places are limited to 15-20 people and tickets are £5.
Please update your RSVP if you can no longer attend so that someone else can have your place.
**Who should come:**
Everyone! We believe that the more perspectives, the richer the conversation. This group is not about being experts in Philosophy, it is about *doing* philosophy. That is, bringing our various life experiences and lenses on the world to group discussions about the human experience, the nature of reality... etc. etc....
**Where we'll meet:**
The Fitzroy Tavern in Fitzrovia. The nearest Tube stations are Goodge Street and Tottenham Court Road.
Looking forward to meeting & talking with you :-)

🌍 JUST GUTSY — Solo Travelers Meetup (London 4PM local time)
**No pressure. No plans. Just new friends ✨**
Whether you’re visiting London for the first time, just arrived, or simply love meeting curious, open-minded people, this bi-weekly **Just Gutsy** meetup is an easy way to share stories, make friends, and explore the city together.
**Who it’s for?**
• Solo travelers
• Expats & digital nomads
• Locals who love meeting travelers
**What to expect?**
✨ Relaxed, **self-led** gathering
🤝 Small group energy
🌍 Travel stories, tips & shared adventures
🍹 Grab a drink or snack if you like
**How it works?**
This is a self-led meetup, meaning I set it up for you but the magic happens between you.
To make sure everyone finds each other smoothly, please follow these simple coordination steps:
1️⃣ **RSVP** Thoughtfully
If you’re planning to come, tap “Going.”
It helps others feel confident joining and builds momentum before the meetup.
Even if you’re 80% sure, RSVP.
If your plans change, please update your RSVP so others aren’t expecting your attendance.
2️⃣ **Confirm 2 Hours Before** (Essential)
To ensure the meetup runs, please comment on this event page at least 2 hours before the start time:
“Confirmed for today 😊”
This allows everyone to see, ahead of time, who is actually coming.
The meetup moves forward when at least 2 people confirm 2 hours before the event.
If fewer than 2 confirmations are posted by then, attendance may be low that day.
This avoids anyone showing up uncertain.
3️⃣ **Signal Your Arrival**
When you arrive, comment on this event page:
“Arrived” + where you’re sitting + what you’re wearing
Example:
“Arrived. Sitting outside near the entrance. Wearing a black t-shirt.”
This ensures everyone can easily find each other.
Recognition Tip
Having a clear profile photo on Meetup is highly encouraged — it makes recognition effortless and helps the group form faster.
**When & Where?**
📅 Day: Every Tuesday & Saturday
🕓 Time: 4:00 PM local time

**About Just Gutsy**
**Just Gutsy** is a global community for solo travelers who are free spirited, love exploring the world believe that real connections make the best memories.
Hi, I am Syrine,
I started solo traveling in 2018 and it changed my life, from introvert to extrovert. Along the way, I loved meeting people, but also felt how hard it can be to find connection when traveling alone.
I’m building Just Gutsy so no one has to feel alone on the road — and so anyone who’s still shy to take that first step has a welcoming place to start. 💛
A Sci Fi/Fantasy Feedback Session
Join us at Craft Beer Co. Brixton for our structured Sci-Fi & Fantasy Feedback Session. A supportive, focused space where writers can share their work and receive constructive, thoughtful critique.
These sessions are designed not only to help authors refine their writing but also to strengthen our community. Giving feedback is as valuable as receiving it: by learning to critique effectively, we sharpen our own editorial instincts and deepen our understanding of craft.
Whether you’re submitting work or attending as a reader, this is a collaborative, growth-focused environment.
**FOR THOSE SUBMITTING WORK**
**We allow up to 4 people to submit their work** **for feedback. In order to submit please RSVP and send your submission to** **scififantasyauthors@gmail.com no later than the Sunday prior to the session** to give organisers time to review submissions and arrange critique groups in advance. *Priority for submission slots is given to those who have attended a previous session.*
To ensure quality and fairness, submission guidelines are as follows:
* **A short introduction (2–3 paragraphs max.) explaining:**
* The context and status of the piece (early draft? polished?)
* What kind of feedback you’re looking for
* **An excerpt (chapter or short story) of up to 3,000 words**
* +10% flexibility allowed
* Strict cut-off beyond that
**FOR THOSE PROVIDING FEEDBACK**
Please RSVP and read the “How to Give Feedback” document that will be shared prior to attending.
* Bring a device suitable for reading the submitted piece
* Be prepared to engage respectfully and constructively
* There is no expectation to read anything in advance. All reading takes place during the session itself. We begin with dedicated silent reading time, ensuring that everyone engages with the piece equally and no one feels pressure to prepare outside the session. Just show up ready to read, think, and contribute.
**SCHEDULE**
Attendees will be placed into small critique groups of 5–6 people, each with an experienced facilitator to guide discussion and manage time.
**6:30–6:45pm** – Arrival, drinks & group seating
**6:45–7:30pm** – Silent reading & note-taking
**7:30–8:00pm** – Structured feedback delivery
**8:00–8:30pm** – Open roundtable discussion & author questions
Each participant will have up to 5 minutes to share feedback during the structured critique section. Authors listen without interruption, with space for clarifying questions later in the roundtable.
Whether you’re looking to polish a chapter, test an opening, or strengthen
your editorial instincts, these sessions are an opportunity to grow together.
RSVP early, as places are limited to ensure productive group sizes. If you can no longer attend, please update your RSVP.

Blood on the Clocktower @OtterChaos
Join OverBoard to play the brilliant social deduction game Blood on the Clocktower in person at the brand new board game cafe Otter Chaos in Brixton.
If you haven’t heard of Blood on the Clocktower before it is an evolution of classic party games like Mafia/Werewolf where a hidden evil team takes on the good team by lying and killing. The good team has a few tricks up their sleeve but will have to work together to deduce who the evil doers are in their midst.
**This is a beginner friendly event so no experience with the game is necessary.**
Please note that a gaming cover charge of \~£5 will be payable by each attendee to the venue so that we can make use of the space. We also encourage you to buy food and drink from the bar so we are supporting the business (I can highly recommend their pizzas!)

Theme: Balance, growth, renewal, fertility
* We will begin with a warm welcome and introductions.
* Together, we will share Cacao and Rose to deepen our connection with the Earth and open our hearts.
* Through oracle cards, we will reflect on the year so far and explore our intentions for the seasons ahead.
* Gayatri will then guide you on a meditative journey, accompanied by the healing vibrations of sound instruments. You are invited to relax and bathe in these frequencies.
* Afterward, we will have time to share experiences in circle before closing together in gratitude.
***
### Benefits of Attending
This ceremony offers a peaceful space to pause, reflect, and reconnect to the turning of the wheel.
* **Open the heart and calm the mind** through ceremonial Cacao and Rose, supporting emotional warmth, inner peace, and gentle awakening of the senses.
* **Reflect with clarity** using oracle cards to review the past year and set intentions for the returning light and the seasons ahead.
* **Restore balance and presence** through a guided meditation accompanied by sound healing instruments that help release tension and realign energy.
* **Feel supported in community** by sharing within a safe and compassionate circle, fostering connection and mutual understanding.
* **Align with natural rhythms** of the Start of Spring
Come and celebrate the Celtic festival of Ostara, a moment to mark the time of Spring as we celebrate the return of the sun’s warmth and light after the dark cold months of winter.
On this date the day and night are balanced and equal in length. This natural equilibrium between light and dark offers a powerful reminder of harmony, cycles and the delicate balance of opposing forces in our lives.
It gives an opportunity to reflect on areas of our own lives that may feel out of balance and to consider how we might invite more harmony.
What parts of yourself or your routine could benefit from fresh energy or a new approach?
How can you nurture growth, whether in relationships, creativity, work, or personal wellbeing, as the world around you bursts into bloom?

3\) PRANA MYSTIC: Global Bass \| Ethno\-Fusion \| Folktronica \| Shamanic Soundscapes Ecstatic Dance & Cacao Ceremony
**1\. SHAMANIC TRANCE DANCE \- Our journey begins in the dark\.**
The blindfold comes on. The outer world dissolves. With cacao warming the heart and ancient shamanic drums calling to us… into the dance we go…
Shamanic Trance Dance is an ancient technology of consciousness, rhythm guiding you beneath the thinking mind into embodied knowing.
Then we move into fire. 🔥
**2\. The RAGE RITUAL™ is not about chaos\, or freeking out\.** It’s about reclaiming life-force. Anger, when expressed consciously, is clean energy.
It sets boundaries. It restores dignity. It protects what matters.
Through our uniquer guided process and embodied activation, you’ll be invited to unlock your roar in a space that is structured, grounded and safe enough.
And as the sun sets, we gather again. 🌅
**4\. PRANA MYSTIC is an awakening\.\.\.** global basslines, ethno-fusion textures and shamanic soundscapes carry us into ecstatic dance. Cacao flows. Intentions are seeded. Bodies sweat. The dancefloor becomes temple and playground at once. 🌀💫
No talking. No alcohol. Just presence, music, and raw human electricity.
Dance. Move. Connect. Release. Meditate. Celebrate.
***TRYBE is a modern-day sanctuary for Londoners who crave something deeper than the usual Ecstatic Dance.***
Each gathering is like a mini urban retreat, a space to drop armour, meet your edges, rediscover embodied-joy and stretch beyond your usual way of being.

**Opening Talk:**
Luisa will demo a sassy AI-powered plant built in FastAPI using GPT-4o to explore personality, dialogue design, and human-AI interaction.
**Main Talk:**
What about using certain CLIs puts a smile on your face and gets you telling all your friends and colleagues about it?
The Unix philosophy emphasizes simplicity, modularity, and the idea that programs should do one thing well and work together. However, CLI programs are primarily used by humans. Programs that you actually enjoy using can achieve both of these aims of composability and human-centeredness.
This talk explores what makes CLIs great: fast, trusted, and delightful. Through real-world examples from modern tools like uv, cargo, ripgrep, and GitHub CLI, you'll learn the design patterns that separate good CLIs from great ones.
Whether you're building package managers, creating developer tools, or just curious why modern CLIs feel so much better, you'll leave with a practical checklist of techniques to apply to any CLI tool you build.
**Agenda:**
7:00pm - Opening announcements
7:10pm - Opening Topic - Build an AI-powered, Sassy Speaking Plant
7:25pm - Main Topic - Designing Delightful CLIs with Python
7:50pm - Q&A
