So my surname used to be MacAngus… and I know a thing or two about Edinburgh! 😁🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 It’s one of my fave UK cities that I’ve got to know well, and one of the world’s most famous places to ring in the New Year, so I'm super excited to invite you to join me and other women in our community on this new 3 day, 2 night break! 🥳 Hogmanay is the Scottish word for New Year’s Eve, considered the most important Scottish holiday as Christmas was virtually banned in Scotland for around 400 years so, until the 1950s many Scots worked over Christmas and celebrated their winter solstice holiday at New Year. So, simply put, the Scots know how to do NYE right! 🥳🙌 The highlight of Hogmanay is a massive outdoor street party beneath the iconic Edinburgh Castle, which is illuminated with a show stopping midnight fireworks display, then everyone joins hands to belt out ‘Auld Lang Syne’ before continuing to party into the wee hours! 😁 But I've got much more lined up to share this brilliant city with you too; so have a look at the link below for all the info... Over the years we have enjoyed numerous social evenings of stargazing and thought provoking chatter with people of all ages and varying levels of astronomy knowledge - so complete beginners that are genuinely curious about the universe are very welcome. The world renowed **BBC Television Sky at Night** also attended our events pre covid and interviewed some of us for it's show that aired on BBC1 in Feb 2019. BBC **Radio London** (94.9 FM / digital) were there Aug 2023 to cover our meteor shower event broadcasting live to millions of Londoners for 3 hours You don't need a telescope as you will be able to view through scopes belonging to me and other club members (as long as you behave responsibly and don't temper with expensive equipment). Join us on the eve of the first Full mon of 2026.. part of our our Full monthly Circle..on the banks of river Thames. Actual time of full moon in sign of sensitive nurturin Cancer is 10am next day.. so we'll be catching the waxing energies this night., to set up altar, invoke the Triple moon Goddess and do magic at the heart of London. These rituals are suitable for beginners and all interested in Paganism, Wicca & Ritual Magic. Facilitated by Mani (Wiccan Highpriest) & Woodland Witches ritual team, these rituals also provide an opportunity to take on some roles and gain ritual experiences over time. * **We operate a STRICTLY NO DRUGS policy at all times \*\*** . **RITUAL what to expect** \-\-\-\- * We start with a brief **pathworking** \- a guided visualisation for stillness and energy opening\. This is followed by **consecration** where each person is blessed with consecrated water & incense. Then a **magic circle** is cast with a wand, and visualisation of a protective bubble / sphere around us. **Elements** Air, fire, water, earth are called in east, south, west, north. We raise **group energy** with easy chants while circling around or infront of the altar. * Then call on \*\* **Goddess** \*\* energies. A team member (or a selected attendee) plays the role of the Moon Goddess. 4-5 ladies may be asked to take on Goddess-support roles, circling the Goddess and using Goddess related chants to raise energy. * We then have a moment for some **magic/ spell working**. The Last Tuesday Society is a popular and quirky little bar that will be holding circus and cabaret style performances on New Year's Eve, as well as various optional games with prizes! If you're looking for something fun and different for NYE, this is for you! Tickets to the event include popcorn, a cocktail and a glass of prosecco as well as entry into their nextdoor museum.
