MF#K: An introduction to Martin-Löf's meaning explanations
MF#K: An introduction to Martin-Löf's meaning explanations
*Talk by Abraham W.* Martin-Löf's meaning explanations provide an approach to understand mathematical statements as statements about functional computer programs. Furthermore, meaning explanations can be used to justify the inference rules of intuitionistic type theory. *As usual, there's mingling at the local bar after the talk.*
Boring is Better: Building RAG with PostgreSQL as a Vector Database
Boring is Better: Building RAG with PostgreSQL as a Vector Database
Welcome to the first M-PUG session of the year as we kick off spring in Sweden! Join us for an evening of practical AI and PostgreSQL discussion, community, and good company. We'll be gathering at the ground floor of Minc, and whether you're a longtime member or joining us for the first time, we’re excited to reconnect with the community and start the year with an insightful session. **Title:** Boring is Better: Building RAG with PostgreSQL as a Vector Database **Abstract:** Retrieval-Augmented Generation doesn't need the shiniest vector database. PostgreSQL with pgvector gives you everything you need: fast similarity search, native indexing, and - most importantly - one less system to operate. We'll show how to build production RAG applications using the database you already know and love, without the operation complexity/overhead/hype of dedicated vector stores. See if PostgreSQL is the boring choice that makes sense for your team's AI development workflow. **Speaker:** Ali Jahangiri brings a decade of expertise with electron driven innovation - from atomic scale transistor fabrication, to physical AI solution development at Arduino and high performance computing systems. As a Machine Learning PhD candidate at Lund University and affiliated member of the ELLIIT (Linköping-Lund initiative on IT and mobile communication) centre of excellence, Ali is advancing the sustainable AI frontier by developing smaller, faster and more energy-efficient machine learning architectures. **Agenda** 17:15 - 17:30: Guest arrival 17:30 - 18:15: Presentation 18:15 - 19:30: Pizza and networking

Coffee Talk
Coffee Talk
Fulfillment. Joy. – Do you know what it is? Do you feel it now? Many of us are living lives that have “just sort of happened”. We had a dream, a vision (maybe we still do) for what we wanted our lives to look like. Somewhere along the way, life took over and something else ended up happening. We made decisions, took a turn down a path, and now our life isn’t what we thought it would be. Or we’re living someone else’s life. Maybe it’s what our parent’s wanted for us. What we believe our partner or a potential partner might want. Or maybe it’s what we believe we need to do and have to be happy. I was one of these people. My life checked all the boxes for what I thought I needed in order to be happy. And still, I wasn’t. Join me for a coffee talk on what it means to live a Life By Design. Where your choices are deliberate and based on your authentic, true self. What you have to let go off to achieve this (hint: the notion that vulnerability is a weakness and feelings of fear and guilt) and who you will become in the process.

Shut Up & Write!™ Copenhagen
Shut Up & Write!™ Copenhagen
Join us for an hour of writing! We’ve discovered that it’s strikingly helpful to write with other writers. See if it’s true for you at our Copenhagen Shut Up & Write! sessions. Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, résumé, melody, poem, or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done. SCHEDULE: - 15 minutes of hellos and getting settled; maybe some quick intros. - Then, the timer starts! : writing for 1 hour. - After the hour is up... chat / take off / keep writing, if you're on a roll. OPTIONAL SOCIALIZING happens once the hour of writing is complete. Writing can be very solitary... connecting (and sometimes even commiserating) with other writers is a cool thing. It's best to be on time, but BEING LATE IS ALSO OKAY: just show up and get settled, then check in with us after the session. (We’ll be the ones with the small Shut Up & Write! sign.) If you were on time, please be willing to make room for the friendly latecomer. What Should I Bring? Whatever you need to be able to write! Bring earbuds/earplugs if you want to block the cafe’s overhead music or the occasional conversation by other patrons.

This session sits exactly in that tension. We’ll take a real Figma design and use Cursor to turn it into a working website - not as a demo, but as a hands-on session where you’ll work through it yourself. Where it’s smooth, you’ll feel it. Where it’s messy, you’ll understand why. ## You'll need: • A laptop (fully charged) • Cursor installed • A Cursor account (free/hobby is fine) • A Figma account (free is fine) *If you arrive without setup, you won’t get much out of the session.* ## **Light Pre-Work:** **👉 There will be light pre-work shared ahead of time with everyone registered in Luma - keep an eye on your e-mail closer to the workshop.** Find all information here: [https://luma.com/ph7xqr4m](https://luma.com/ph7xqr4m) ## **About the speaker** > Justin Waugh (he/him) loves good UX and doesn't like to give in easily. With over 30 years of hybrid design/developer experience, he's always been fascinated by the intersection of technology and human behaviour. With an MA from Hyper Island under his belt, Justin specializes in user-centric design, effective IT leadership, and innovative UX strategies and has a sharpened sense of how to think about users, systems, and the subtle art of making technology feel human. > In sessions, Justin brings his trademark mix of practical insight and creative curiosity. Measuring Greenness, today & tomorrow
Measuring Greenness, today & tomorrow
Hello all! To kickstart our Meetup group here I suggest to have a morning meet&greet for those of us available. I would like to invite you to our office in Bredgade, Copenhagen, and spend 20 minutes on our approach to measuring software greenness and introduce a research project we are part of, led by Aalborg University and Roskilde University: [GREENSQL](https://vbn.aau.dk/en/projects/green-digitalization-starts-in-the-database/). If you find this interesting, I will work on having the researchers come by our Meetup and give a status on current progress. That leaves about 40 minutes for discussion and general networking. If we have a lot of attendees (fingers crossed) I may have to change the location - please suggest alternative locations if you have one. All the best, Rasmus

No Data Scientists Were Harmed: ML Inference for Regular Game Devs
Viviane and Xavier are visiting from the Unity Montreal office, and they have kindly offered to give a talk about using machine learning inference in Unity games (actually same talk which will also be given internally) **Xavier Désilets** \- Senior Software Developer\, Unity **Viviane Rochon Montplaisir** \- Senior Software Developer\, Unity Are you a game dev who keeps hearing words like "tensors" and "logits" and quietly alt-tabs back to your prefab folder? This session is for you. In the first half, we'll do a fast, practical ML 101 specifically for game developers. We'll cover what tensors actually are (in human language), quantization, how model graphs work, and what to make of different model formats. In the second half, we'll focus on the decisions you have to make to ship something: how to pick a model size that won't set your players' fans on fire, what formats and hardware are supported, and how to think about speed vs. quality. We'll walk through real-world input and output pipelines. We'll ground this with currently available Unity Sentis samples. By the end, you won't be a data scientist, but you will know how to choose, run, and wire up ML models at runtime in Unity without breaking your frame budget or your brain. **Program:** 17:30 - Sandwiches, sodas and mingling 18:00 - Welcome 18:10 - Presentation 19.15 (approx.) - Mingling continues 21:30 - Venue closing
