Attendance: We’ve noticed that the waitlist is growing, so please make sure your name is on the Going list if you plan to play. Our number of nets is limited so this helps avoid too many rotations. If your name is on the list but you don’t show up, it will count as an absence according to Smiley Social rules. Please update your RSVP at least 12 hours in advance if your plans change. 1. Injuries: Play safely and be mindful of others on the court. Respect positions and avoid risky moves that could lead to injury. If you’re not sure the ball is yours, call it before going for it to avoid collisions. 1. Game Rules: Let’s follow the basic volleyball rules, especially the three-touch rule so we can play properly and improve as a team! 1. Waitlist: The waitlist is not first come first serve. RULES of the GAME : 1- **FRIENDLY GAME**. No slide tackling, rough play, or coaching. 2- It is highly recommended to wear **TURF SHOES**. However, if you choose to wear cleat and you step on someone foot, you have to leave the game for **2 MINS OUT** and the time would increases if you do it again during the same game. 3- In case of disagreement during the game, the **host acts as a referee** so the game stays smooth and enjoyable to everyone. **Please do not show up unless you're confirmed** and your name shows in the going list. You might not play if you show up anyway. **If you can not make it , cancel ahead of time** (prior to 10 pm the night before), otherwise, you will not be prioritized for the future games. No-shows without cancellation would make you lose your spot the next game. If your name is on the wait list, I would assume you are still interested to join, if not remove your name from the wait list. **Every player should sub for a goalie and offer to play defense.** Please use a clear profile picture so it is easier for me to recognize you. if you don't have a clear picture, the host might cancel your rsvp. Open play up to 18 people, all skill levels. Bring your friends or potential new members, bring a BBQ, (we have a lot of BBQ’s over the summer) your dog and cat, your good times and your laughter too.

This event is for volleyball beginners who want an opportunity to practice, play, and gain experience in a relaxed, low pressure environment. Whether you're trying volleyball for the first time or still developing confidence in the basics, you'll find this event welcoming, supportive, and beginner-friendly. ***Please read all and make sure you agree before you sign up.*** **Court Type:** Outdoor Sand **Level:** intermediate (BB) **Transportation:** Parking will be right by the sand courts, behind the courts, and there is garage parking close to the courts. Metro is the Blue and Yellow line. **What to bring:** at least 3 bottles of water and a ball if you have one. **MAX:** 10 players per net. (1 Net-small court) **Restroom:** Restrooms are across the street in the restaurants. **Host's Philosophy on This Event:** The purpose of this meetup is to create a fun and supportive environment where we can improve our skills, enjoy competitive games, and connect socially. While we do aim to play seriously and challenge ourselves, the focus is more on growth and enjoyment than simply winning at all costs. That’s why the title doesn’t include “competitive” or “social”—we want a healthy mix of both. This is a space where you won’t be judged for making mistakes. ***We do expect you to listen to the organizer if they make suggestions or adjustments***. We also expect a mindset geared toward learning and getting better over time. That said, this event isn’t intended for beginners; an understanding of the game is expected so that everyone can contribute to meaningful and engaging matches. This volleyball game is for BB/A or higher level players. Everyone will be on waitlist first and one day before the game I will move players in.

This is a social volleyball which means as long as you played volleyball before and can keep some rally going you can attend. The point is to practice being a team player, have fun, be social, and make friends. We should try to have 2 passes before sending the ball over on most plays. Let's get everyone involved in the game.
