Snowdonia Walking Holiday
Snowdonia Walking Holiday
For the late May bank holiday weekend, we are staying at YHA Conwy on the North Wales coast. Conwy is a World Heritage site thanks to its perfect medieval town walls and its completely preserved castle. The surrounding area is full of mountains, coastal walks, heritage railways and National Trust gardens. Friday: For those arriving in the afternoon we will lead a tour of the historic town of Conwy. It is a Bastide town, the 14th century town walls creating a fortified town next to one of the finest castles in Britain. The town walls can be walked along including its twelve preserved towers. We will follow the coast to the marina and its diverse collection of pleasure boats and yachts. Fish and chips at riverside pub. Saturday: We will take the very scenic Conwy Valley railway to Bewts-Y-Coed for activities. We are arranging a 7-mile waterfalls walk through the Snowdonia Hills. Option to hire mountain bikes for a challenging circuit on the Marin Trail. On the way back, if time, we can visit the famous Bodnant Gardens. There is 80 acres of magnificent gardens to explore, with lovely Italianate terraces, formal lawns and magical wooded valley. Rhododendrons should be in full bloom on our visit. Sunday: Our 9-mile coastal walk takes us to the elegant Victorian resort of Llandudno. We can climb the Great Orme for superb views north to Cumbria and the Isle of Man. We can take a ride on the historic electric tramway and chair lift. Llandudno has two wide sandy beaches with heritage pier and unspoiled late Victorian promenade and architecture. Also, option to travel on the Ffestiniog narrow gauge steam railway. The line follows the rugged hillside climbing to the former slate mining hub of Ffestiniog. Great views from the train carriage across the deep wooded valley. Monday: We aim to explore the Conwy Castle, including climbing its preserved towers for splendid views to the mountains of Snowdonia. Also, option to hike to Conwy Mountain with a visit to the Roman Fort remains. People can visit Bodnant Gardens if not visited on Saturday. Itineraries might change slightly due to weather. Refreshments Hostel offers all meals and packed lunch. Self-catering kitchen at hostel. Pubs and cafes on all walks. Cost of event is £98 for 3 nights in rooms at hostel. Includes guided walks each day and breakfasts both days. £10 membership just required for now ( group membership for 12 months giving all day walks free). Sunshine & Silliness | The ADHDers Picnic | Holborn | Everyone Welcome
We are back again for another day of fun, silly laughs and making new friends! The event is a picnic in London for ADHDers, neurodivergent people, and friendly chaotic sorts. You don't need ADHD, or a diagnosis. Cool, nice people are welcome. We’ll be in Lincoln's Inn Fields from 3pm and finish at... whenever. A loose ending feels on brand. Expect: * snacks, chats, and fresh air * wandering conversations and abrupt topic changes * people arriving late, leaving early, and forgetting what they were saying * a friendly mix of regulars and new people Bring: * something to sit on * food and drinks * water * layers / suncream / emergency crisps Lincol's Inn Fields is central, easy to get to, and near cafĆ©s, pubs and toilets, which is all very helpful for a picnic and for being alive. Come for twenty minutes or all day. Lurk gently. Overshare magnificently. Get distracted by a dog. Plenty of people come alone, so solo arrivals are very normal. If you are a feeling a bit shy or awkward, please ask for Kieran, (that's me) and we can have a chat. A nice, low-pressure London ADHD social meetup where you overstimulated folks can touch grass for a few hours. **Directions:** Come into Lincoln's Inn Field, look for a tree where a bright yellow blanket will be hanging. It's not a big space, we'll be easy to find. Google maps [Picnic spot here](https://maps.app.goo.gl/n2a3EsSiKWf8HTic7) WhatsApp group link: [Message here if you need help](https://bit.ly/41JMQwv) **A note: This is a consent-led space.
