Bring Your Own Game Night in DC at Nanny O’Briens
Hello again! After a long hiatus, the Monday meet up at Nanny O’Briens is back! We’ll have some games to play, but feel free to bring your favorites as well. Stop by for a game and a drink, and say hello! We’ll be in the back room.
Other info:
Nanny O'Brien's is allowing us to use their back room for some board game socializing. Please reciprocate their generosity by purchasing food and drinks.
Free street parking starts at 6:30 in most areas (make sure to read the signs). If you're taking the metro, take the red line to Cleveland Park and walk two blocks southwest on Connecticut (we are located next to CVS).
Monday Night Board Gaming at Brew Belly in Olney
Join us between 6:00 and 9:30 to play nontraditional board games at Brew Belly restaurant in Olney, MD. Some games will be provided but please do bring along games you are interested in playing! The start time is 6:00 pm. Typically attendees will begin splitting off for their first game by 6:15, but this can vary. RSVPs let us know who to look out for, and if you will be arriving much after 6:15-6:30, shoot us a message in the event chat. That will let us know if we are slower to split off or to start with a quicker game so you can get gaming sooner when you arrive! If you have registered but find you cannot attend, please change your RSVP. See you soon!!
Chess on Tap @ DC Board Room

Members range from beginner to master level, and games are played both with and without time controls. There are dozens of players each week, with only a fraction of the participants registering on meetup.
This event is held at a bar, the Board Room, in Washington, DC, and is intended for 21+ players.
We meet upstairs, on the mezzanine. Upon arrival, fill out a name tag and indicate your relative skill, to facilitate match-ups.
Chess sets and boards are provided. We don't have club clocks, but most people use the Chess Clock app from Chess.com to play timed games.

SMT Celtic Faculty Concert
SMT is hosting a Summer Faculty Concert Series to celebrate the traditions we love and to give the community a chance to see some of our illustrious teachers in action. This series is also a great chance for teachers to mix things up and collaborate with other teachers who they may not usually have a chance to perform with. Join Ellen Gira, Mari Carlson, Bryan McDowell, and Nick Cameron as they play the music they love.

The Shop Blues Jam

**Beginner to Pro Blues jam 21+ only, BYOB. Every Thursday.**
This is a smaller more practice focused event at my shop.
**Open to everyone and is a learning experience for most.**
Just bring your instrument(Electric), no need to bring an amp we have all of that.
Do not bring a pedal board with a bunch of pedals. The amps are dialed in for blues, trust me it's all there.
Drums are here already, very basic kit. If you want to bring cymbals or any other drum gear, please show up early to set up. Also please be aware that other people are going to play the kit as well.
Weekly Open Practice
Keep in mind this periodic meetup will be canceled if there is another event at the maid at that time. Check the schedule at ElectricMaid.org to be sure.

Sunday Songs at Jimmy's with Joe Reiman Music
Join NoVA Live Music Mingle's very own Joe Reiman for his solo gig debut at Herndon's World Famous **Jimmy's Old Town Tavern**. After countless open mic and Memorial Day & Labor Day weekend sets at Jimmy's, he's beyond excited to spend a full afternoon entertaining the JOTT crowd. Expect a mix of folk, roots, rock, country and blues. John Prine to Ozzy Osbourne, Kacey Musgraves to Seven Mary Three, Zac Top to The Cars, Avett Brothers to The Grateful Dead, Elton John to Jimmy Buffet. And maybe even some Louis Prima!
If the skies are clear, the show will take place on the outdoor stage of the back bar patio. In case of rain, the show will move inside.

Fun & easy way to play more tennis (read event description)
We’re still working to get more people into these Meetups, but our goal is to give PlayYourCourt members a few social tennis outings each week in addition to your practice sessions and Challenge League matches.
These Meetups are co-ed, super laid back, and all skill levels are welcome. Post your skill level and a suggested court in the comments section so we can round up as many players as we can for some tennis fun!
Also, if you’re looking to meet new practice partners or play some matches and you aren’t already in the PlayYourCourt Community, you can go here to see what we’re all about and sign up:
https://www.playyourcourt.com/tennis-community/columbus-oh/meetup/
If you love tennis, we’d love to have you! Be sure and watch the quick video that explains how everything works.
Happy hitting!

Sunday funday: let's play dodgeball at Scioto Audubon park
Dodgeball is back again!
If you’ve been wanting to come out, this is an easy one to join. We’ll be playing for about 1.5 to 2 hours, you do not need to bring any equipment, and no experience is needed.
We use a specific set of rules and equipment to make the games run better and keep them fun for everybody, not just people who already know how to play.
If it rains, the event will be canceled.
