Friday night Greenbelt International Folk Dancing has gone "virtual". As we all practice good social distancing, many in our folk dance community are feeling the absence of our usually scheduled local dances. Bret lives in Westlake Towers: 7420 Westlake Ter Apt 204 Bethesda MD. It's a 16-floor tan brick building. It is not the dark red brick building across the street. Visitors don't need a parking pass. Be careful not to go to a smaller 4-story building called West Spring, whose address is, confusingly, 7420 Lakeview Drive. At both building entrances, there is a call box. Use the A-Z buttons to scroll to "Empie, Malcolm" and press the CALL button. Bret will buzz you in. Malcolm Empie is Bret’s official name. Ride-On Bus 47 comes close to Westlake Towers. Other buses stop at the Montgomery Mall Transit Center, 0.6 mile away. Bret's piano is a beautiful 1913 Steinway A, fully renovated inside and out. It is a treat to play.
