# Tercer encuentro de nuestro colectivo ​Continuamos el recorrido con nuestro tercer encuentro del Colectivo Farina. En esta ocasión, desplazamos el foco de la optimización al concepto de **instrumentación**, explorando el artefacto como mediador entre la mano y la materia. Reflexionaremos sobre cómo la creación de herramientas específicas de bajo impacto condiciona el resultado de lo que cocinamos, transformando el gesto técnico en un lenguaje propio. En esta edición, el diseño del objeto será el que dicte el ritmo, la forma y la escala de la mesa. # ​¿Qué es ***Colectivo Farina?*** ​Un espacio para experimentar, degustar y cocinar colectivamente, creado por **[bifaz](https://www.instagram.com/bifazworks/).** ## ​\*\*¿Para qué?\*\* ​Colectivo Farina busca **reconectar con los ingredientes y retomar técnicas olvidadas** de la cocina, reduciendo artilugios y poniendo el foco en lo **manual**, lo **artesanal** e incluso lo **ancestral**. Todo desde una práctica **compartida y participativa,** donde cocinar vuelve a ser un acto colectivo, más que una ejecución individual. Todo esto se lleva a una actividad de **cocina colectiva**, donde el resultado final será, en su mayoría (pero no limitado a) pasta, usada aquí como formato versátil, accesible y profundamente comunitario. ## ​¿Por qué *Farina*? ​Del latín farīna, “harina” o “polvo fino de grano”, un ingrediente base de innumerables culturas desde el inicio de los tiempos. Económica, cotidiana y sustanciosa, la harina representa la sencillez en su máximo esplendor. Y de eso va este proyecto: de **volver a lo esencial**. De cocinar desde lo básico, sin artificios, donde **la pasta, será nuestro vehículo principal**, no por técnica, sino por lo que simboliza: unión, manualidad y un punto de partida común. ## ​Lo que NO es ​No es una cena clandestina. ​No es un taller de pasta. ​No es un restaurante. ​Aquí **tod@s somos cocineros** y nadie queda por fuera. We’re heading to BeWake Park for a morning of fun, confidence, and connection on (and off) the water! 🌊✨ This small group wake session is designed especially for **beginners** or anyone wanting to build confidence in a friendly, no pressure space 💗 We’ll ride on the beginner cable, cheer each other on, celebrate the falls, and share the wins! No previous knowlegde needed, it is for you if you are about to try, just come If you’ve learnt oriental dance before, ask me about other levels, we have up to advanced level The most characteristic movements are of pelvic area, our energy center of creativity and sensuality, that has greater capacity of storytelling that you’ve imagined. We will break down from where the movements come from, because yes, there is a technical part so that you get the right tools to start, know the muscles you need to use to make it simplier than it seems. You will see that oriental dance is much more than hip movements, you will also learn torso movements, graceful arms and hands etc It can be energizing , flowing, sensual, flirty, fun and much more! Long story short, as a byproduct you will gain elegance and sensuality in all your moves and expressive body language. Some trained COUNT volunteers work together once a month at RMH (http://www.rmhc-centralohio.org/volunteer.php) as Housewarmers (usually on the 1st Sunday from 1 – 5 PM). Some schedule other shifts at their convenience. You may try this out with less fuss by following a "Fast track" or go through the normal process. Fast track • Arrange a time to shadow a COUNT volunteer. Call Dave Nohle at 614-268-9558 (cell). • Show up and try it out. • Complete application, etc. later. Normal process • Complete an online application (http://rmhc-centralohio.org/volunteer/). • Attend orientation in advance. • At orientation you will complete forms agreeing to keep family/patient info private and allowing a background check and tour the facility. • Complete one training shift. Daily shifts are: morning 9 AM - 1 PM, afternoon 1 - 5 PM and evening 5 - 9 PM. • Schedule shifts online using the on the RMH scheduling system (http://www.volgistics.com/ex/portal.dll/?FROM=32895). The Ronald McDonald House (RMH) provides housing and meals for families with sick children. The Columbus RMH is the largest in the world with 137 rooms. COUNT has been volunteering there since May 2014. Housewarmers work with RMH guests to provide a home-like environment - greet, assist with family needs, answer phones, give tours, assist with checkin/checkout, prepare guest rooms after checkout, clean facility, laundry, restock supplies and staff the front desk. RMH Housewarmers volunteer at least one four-hour shift a month. All Housewarmers must complete an application and agree to a background check before they can be full fledged volunteers.

This is in the main mall where the Microsoft store used to be, on your left if you're standing at the bottom of the AMC Theater escalator. Join us on Saturday for an hour of uninterrupted wordmaking! • What we'll do Join us for an hour of writing! We’ve discovered that it’s strikingly helpful to write with other writers. See if it’s true for you at 10AM on Saturday mornings. Be it a book, blog, script, essay, dissertation, resume, melody, poem or just plain work stuff, you are invited to write it with us. No one will see what you've written or give you unsolicited advice. Instead of just thinking about writing, come and get some real writing done. SCHEDULE: 10:00 - SESSION 1: quick intros. 10:10 - timer starts: write for 1 hour. 11:10 - chat / take off / keep writing. OPTIONAL SOCIALIZING happens at 11A-11:30ish. Writing is very solitary. Connecting (and sometimes even commiserating) with other writers is a cool thing. BEING LATE IS OKAY: just show up and get settled, then check-in with me after the session.
