You're walking onto the field at a Washington Nationals game on June 14th to sing the Star-Spangled Banner with about 50 other guys. Interested? We rehearse every Monday night in DC. Doesn't matter if you've sung your whole life or haven't sung since high school. Doesn't matter if you've been told you're tone deaf. Show up Monday and surprise yourself. Here's what to expect when you walk in: * A warm welcome and a name tag. You'll know somebody within five minutes. * Free voice coaching from me. Breath, tone, range, the stuff that makes you sound better fast. * We'll teach you the anthem in four-part harmony. You'll be standing next to a guy who's been doing this for years. He's got you. * We sing other songs too. The chorus has a full repertoire and you're welcome to stay for all of it. This our weekly game night event! We start at 6pm so that we can get dinner from Aslin Taproom. Come join us and maybe meet some new friends as we play games ranging from Fluxx to Ricochet Robots to Ticket to Ride to Saboteur to Cards Against Humanity (and many others). Bring your games or try the games that our regulars bring! That pesky covid thing is still around. Feel free to wear a mask. I have extra masks if you don't feel comfortable without one.

No sign\-ups required \| All levels welcome \| 21\+ If you're looking for a casual game of chess in a fun atmosphere, this event is for you! Members range from beginner to master level, and games are played both with and without time controls. There are dozens of players each week, with only a fraction of the participants registering on meetup. This event is held at a bar, the Board Room, in Washington, DC, and is intended for 21+ players. We meet upstairs, on the mezzanine. Upon arrival, fill out a name tag and indicate your relative skill, to facilitate match-ups. Chess sets and boards are provided. We don't have club clocks, but most people use the Chess Clock app from Chess.com to play timed games.

Join us between 6:00 and 9:30 to play nontraditional board games at Brew Belly restaurant in Olney, MD. Some games will be provided but please do bring along games you are interested in playing! The start time is 6:00 pm. Typically attendees will begin splitting off for their first game by 6:15, but this can vary. RSVPs let us know who to look out for, and if you will be arriving much after 6:15-6:30, shoot us a message in the event chat. That will let us know if we are slower to split off or to start with a quicker game so you can get gaming sooner when you arrive! Hello again! After a long hiatus, the Monday meet up at Nanny O’Briens is back! We’ll have some games to play, but feel free to bring your favorites as well. Stop by for a game and a drink, and say hello! We’ll be in the back room. Other info: Nanny O'Brien's is allowing us to use their back room for some board game socializing. Please reciprocate their generosity by purchasing food and drinks. Free street parking starts at 6:30 in most areas (make sure to read the signs). If you're taking the metro, take the red line to Cleveland Park and walk two blocks southwest on Connecticut (we are located next to CVS).

*Root* is a game of woodland might and right. Stalk the woods as one of the Vagabonds, seize the initiative with the Eyrie birds of prey, rule over your subjects as the Marquise de Cat, or command the Woodland Alliance to create a new order. With creatures and cunning, you'll rule a fantastic forest kingdom in the ultimate asymmetric board game of adventure and war.

Grab a game or bring your own, this event is open play. Whether it is chucking dice, full of traitors, laying tiles, or only cards involved, it doesn't matter; as long as it is a fun game, let's get it to the table and play it. The library will have games available to play but as always, you are welcome and encouraged to bring your own games. So leave a comment about what you are bringing! But be ready to teach your games. The library is located within walking distance of the Silver Spring Metro stop and there is a parking garage across the street. **NTBG** *is a safe environment for all to have fun. We will be playing two games of **Nemesis:** **Retaliation** with up to 4 players per game. All experience levels welcome. Expect the game teach to start promptly within the first 10 minutes. In **Nemesis: Retaliation** players take on the roles of highly trained marines, entering the alien nest with strict orders and the most advanced tools available. But will they be well-prepared enough to face the unrelenting horde that awaits them? Players must survive against overwhelming odds and the possibility of betrayal at every step. This is a semi-cooperative game in which you and your crewmates must survive on a ship infested with hostile organisms. To win the game, you have to complete one of the two objectives dealt to you at the start of the game and survive. You will find many obstacles on your way: swarms of Intruders, the poor physical condition of the ship, agendas held by your fellow players, and sometimes just cruel fate. **Alert! New Location**: We will be trying a new location for this game night, Punch Bowl Social in Arlington. We will post our exact location once we get settled. From BGG: ***Bruxelles 1893*** is a worker placement game with elements of bidding and majority control. Each player is an architect of the late 19th century and is trying to achieve, through various actions, an architectural work in the Art Nouveau style. The most successful building yields the most points. Each player can also create works of art to increase their score. We have 2 copies, and the game accommodates up to 5 players. If you can bring a copy, let us know in the comments. If we don't get any more copies and there are more than 10 RSVP's, we will add a table of ***Bruxelles 1897***, a card game based on *Bruxelles 1893*.

We invite you to get acquainted with some popular modern European board games. We grew up enjoying Careers, Clue, Monopoly, and other such games. These new games are even better. They are easy to learn and are loved by a wide range of players. People will be available to teach how to play each of the games described below. Beginners are welcome. Everyone is welcome to bring other board games and card games that you think people will enjoy. The Mexican Train domino game, Stone Age, and Alhambra are likely to be available. Scrabble and Rumikub have been mentioned as possibilities. **TICKET TO RIDE**: Engaging for players of almost any age, Ticket to Ride is great fun. The rules are simple, but deciding what plays to make in any specific game situation remains interesting and enjoyable for years. **CATAN**: In this game players act as competitive settlers. They acquire resources, trade them with other players, and build and develop their holdings on the island of Catan. Players gain victory points as their settlements grow. A feature that makes it easy to enjoy this game over and over is that the island is different for every game. It consists of hexagonal terrain tiles that can connect in any order. **CARCASSONNE**: Players take turns placing tiles to build a land with cities, farms, roads, and cloisters. They earn points by claiming and completing those things. This game remains enjoyable, time after time, for years. All are invited to come to the Lodge as guests of Virginia Colin. Please make sure that she signs you in. Drinks and good quality bar food will be available for purchase. Salads, onion rings, and sweet potato fries are recommended by many of us.
