On Friday 26th June we will have an evening walk in the Dublin Mountains - with some of the loveliest views around Dublin. Although it's 5 days after the actual summer solstice, sunset is at 9:57pm so we have plenty of time to enjoy the long summer evening. From the meeting point we will take the 44B bus to Johnnie Fox's pub, known for being one of the highest pubs in Ireland. We will then walk to Ballyedmondiff Wedge Tomb (also known as Giant's Grave), Two Rock, Fairy Castle and Three Rock before finishing up with a quick drink in the Blue Light pub (if we wish). There is then a pleasant 15-20 mins walk to the bus stop where there are buses to Dundrum & Dublin City Centre and Glencairn Luas stop (with Green Line services). If the weather is good, we may stop for a short picnic along the way, so feel free to bring food and drink. Feel free to come on the walk even if you haven't been to a meet up before. 📚 There are always books that live within ourselves. Some books are living rent-free in the house. We need space for new books and to let go of some old ones. In reality, space to accumulate books in Dublin is only a dream. You may be a tsundoku (book hoarder). And want to let go a few books :-) This will also provide an opportunity to refresh our literary tastes, book review from the participants, and declutter our bookshelves. ✨ So let's exchange books and discuss them together! 💬 📋 **Guidelines** * Please bring your used or new books (plural, please!) to swap. Engage in discussions with other participants about the books. * If you read e-books, I understand your situation; however, you are welcome to join us and take home a few books for your reading. 📝 **How does this work?** Bring the books you'd like to swap and place them on the **book swap table**. Then pick the book you like and continue the conversations with the participants. **What happens if no one picks my book?** You can take the book back with you or leave it in the table. As an organizer, I will take the book and donate to the charity bookshop or place in the little library like one in Pearse Street Dart Station. Do you understand French but struggle to speak naturally when it’s time to respond? Join a relaxed French conversation group (online) where we use real French conversations as a way to practise speaking French in a natural and structured way. This is not a traditional lesson. It’s a guided conversation space where you practise speaking through real-life content. ## 📰 This session’s topic : **Docteur Love** 💘 In this session, we will work with a short audio extract from a French radio show, where a love coach gives relationship advice live on air. What makes this extract especially interesting is that the coach speaks very naturally — with hesitations, pauses, filler words like *euuuh* and *bah*, just like in real spoken French. You’ll get exposed to authentic French as it is actually spoken by native speakers, not polished scripted French. ## 🎥 BEFORE THE SESSION Before the meetup, you will watch a short 1-minute French video clip. This video will give you key vocabulary and context, so you feel more comfortable speaking during the session. We have a great little community of Movie Group friends so rather than see a movie this time, we’ll help “Create a better world” by helping serve those in need. Here are complete details and our plan for this event: FAITH MISSION – GRANT KITCHEN: The Faith Mission kitchen and dining room serves residents 3 meals a day, every day of the year. For this event, our group will help prepare food, serve meals, assist residents in the dining room, wash dishes, and clean surfaces. PLAN: We will be preparing / serving / cleaning for DINNER from 4:30 to 6:30pm and have space for a total of 7 volunteers. Please arrive at 4:20pm and wear closed-toe shoes and long pants.
