Join & Play 19 March
Our traditional "Join & Play" event is now on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Thursdays of each month. As always, it's free to come & play with us.
How does it work ?
• The events are open for beginner to advanced gamers. If you're new here they're the perfect gateway to discover what we do!
• Those who want to host a game are asked to share in the comments below which game, & for how many players you can run your table.
• For others, if you see a game you'd like to join just respond to the host in the comments below and we'll reserve a spot for that game for you.
• Don't worry if you're new to boardgames or simply don't know the games being hosted this time around; you can simply show up and the event host will sort out a spot at a table for you! *But please make sure to arrive by 19h30* at the latest *so we can take the time to find you a suitable spot.*
• The rules for the games will be explained by the table host before the game starts. No need to study them upfront, although several hosts post a video link to rules or background which can enhance your enjoyment of the game if you have the time to watch beforehand. This is never mandatory, however.
***Please note, ALL attendees must have their MeetUp message function turned on, in case of problems leading up to the event itself. Failure to do so will mean they will be removed in favour of those on the Waitlist.***
***This event is free*** *but takes place in a gaming cafe, the Outpost. As in any place of this type*\*, bringing food and drinks from the outside is not allowed, and you're expected to order something during the evening.
***All your hosts are doing that with passion for free, with their own games, players have to respect and be nice with the others players. Respect, courtesy and fairplay are asked around the table. Have fun.***
Attitude is everything, Pick a good one.

Before J&P : Queen Marie-Antoinette
[Queen Marie-Antoinette](https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/443206/queen-marie-antoinette)
A game of strategy and influence at the court of Versailles
Step into the intrigues of the royal court!
In Queen Marie-Antoinette, you play as ambitious courtesans vying for favor in the opulent court of Louis XVI. Recruit influential characters from five distinct factions (Favorites, Merchants, Military, Clergy, Aristocrats), fulfill secret Plots, and adapt to the Queen’s ever-changing demands to earn influence points.
The Queen’s Requirements and shifting Conditions will disrupt your plans and force you to rethink your strategy each turn. Only the most cunning courtier will rise to the top.
Core Mechanics:
Hand management: Play character cards to manipulate the court in your favor.
Objective completion: Combine characters to fulfill Plots and score.
Dynamic scoring: The Queen’s shifting preferences give bonuses to specific factions.
High player interaction: Tactics and timing are key to outmaneuvering opponents.
Why you'll love it:
Easy to learn rules with surprising strategic depth.
A richly illustrated immersive theme based on historical intrigue.
Fast and fluid gameplay, ideal for 2 to 4 players.
High replayability thanks to modular setup and evolving conditions each game.
Queen Marie-Antoinette is designed by Julien Griffon, illustrated by Alice Piernet, and published by Oka Luda. It blends historical charm with accessible yet clever gameplay in a game of courtly ambition and subtle tactics.

Board games at The Forge
The Forge does have a full bar and kitchen. There is no cover charge but they do request all attendees to purchase a minimum of ~$20 per person. Soft drink refills are $1 each. Please support our hosts so we can continue to provide great events for the group!
The Forge has a large library of games available for us to enjoy. Hosts and regulars will also provide numerous popular games but please bring any games you would like to teach and/or play.
Doors open at 6, and we expect gaming to be rolling by around 630. Please promptly end your games and clear out the space at 10pm when the bar closes.
We encourage socializing but do not permit disruptive behavior of any kind. Thank you for your continued commitment to providing a fun and welcoming space to veteran, newbie, and rookie gamers in the Columbus area.
Parking can be challenging. There is a parking lot behind the neighboring Mexican restaurant that is free and easy to walk from but it's a bit hidden.
