I WRITE @Iska Café – A Cozy Silent Writing Club
I WRITE @Iska Café – A Cozy Silent Writing Club
Welcome to **I WRITE**, a gentle space for anyone who wants to write—quietly, freely, and without judgement. We are a Berlin community of writers who gather together weekly to write, talk and recharge after a long week. Some of us journal, some write novels, some do academic writing, many people come without a project in mind and see where the inspiration flow takes them. This is a space to simply show up and write, a safe place to be yourself and to release all your layers onto the paper. There’s no set topic, no feedback circle, and no pressure. Just warm people, a calm atmosphere, and time dedicated to yourself. ️ **Agenda:** * 18:30 - 19:00 **→** 30 min arriving, optional socialising (arrive early, meet other writers) * 19:00 - 20:00 **→** 1 hour of silent writing (headphones welcome, focus encouraged) * 20:00–20:30 **→** 30 mins break + optional chat or solo time (stay and chat or go celebrate the rest of your evening) **Bring:** * Something to write with (laptop, notebook, phone, typewriter… anything goes) * Your current project or a blank page * Yourself, exactly as you are ** Responsibility:** * Our location is limited; thus, I am kindly asking you to RSVP only if you are willing to attend. **Location:** * We meet at the Iska Cafe at Kalckreuthstraße 7, 10777 Berlin. There is no pin at the google maps yet, so please just come directly to the location and find us at the right door at Erdgeschoss. * **U1\, U2 Wittenbergplatz \|\| U1\, U2\, U3\, U4 Nollendorfplatz** * **106\, 187\, M19\, M29 An Der Urania \|\| M46 Motzstraße** **About me:** Hi, my name is Anastasia. I started this writing club back in May 2025. Since then, it has been hosted weekly at the Heinrich Schulz Library and is now extended to the Café as well. Over this time, I’ve been privileged to meet some of the most creative and kind minds in Berlin. And I would be happy if you joined us. Whether you're an experienced writer or just at the beginning of your journey, you're welcome. If you know how to hold a pen or how to type, there will always be a space for you. Let's write together!
Wolf Huddle – monthly circle (live)
Wolf Huddle – monthly circle (live)
**A down-to-earth men's circle** **for self-care, connection and resilience this Winter** *This month's focus: How does play and fun look in mid-winter?* When nights are long and the sun is scarce, Berlin can feel cold and lonely. *Wolf Huddle* offers a way to balance that out. Each month men gather to practice self-care in supportive community. Through guided group and individual activities, we explore mental wellbeing, nervous-system regulation, and simple strategies to bring calm and connection into the darker months — tactics to keep the oxytocin batteries charged. **What we’ll do** Each session blends conversation, reflection, movement, learning, and optional platonic touch. You’ll be invited to name your own needs, set your own boundaries, support others, and join exercises shaped by the group: From handshakes and supportive contact — perhaps gentle massage or other ways you’d like to be nurtured physically — to self-regulation exercises, journalling, storytelling, and guided visualisations. **What it's for** Wolf Huddle is a chance to explore trust and fraternal bonds, the warmth and strength of relaxed company. We huddle not like a sports team, but in mutual respect and support. Along the way you may learn to feel more at ease saying 'no', release a little loneliness, or make some room for clarity, care, and joy. **What it’s not** Not a cuddle event or casual hangout. It’s a professionally facilitated, trauma-sensitive space where your boundaries are welcome and your sovereignty is central. **Reserve your spot** via [bank transfer](https://zigmal.org/wolf-huddle/), adding *Wolf Huddle + your first name*, and a *contact method* Contribution for BMG members: **35 €** standard **25 €** low income\* If you decide to show up spontaneously on the evening, you're welcome to bring cash - but it is helpful for the planning to know in advance that you'll be coming. ֎ Bring a notebook, pen, and comfortable clothing ֎ The space is shoe-free, so warm socks are welcome. ֎ Cancel up to 24 h ahead for a full refund. *\*Some men have asked what counts as 'low income': You're not expected to provide any kind of proof of being on a low income - it's entirely up to you... if €35 feels like too high a hurdle for you at the moment, then feel free to use the lower option.* **About the facilitator** **Hans** here from the Berlin Men’s Group. I'm a certified systemic trauma counsellor and touch trainer with twelve years of specialising in men's issues. I enjoy bringing depth, creativity and humour to my work. ***Maybe it’s just what you need? Come along and see for yourself.*** *Wolf Huddle is a project by Zigmal e.V. – [zigmal.org](http://zigmal.org/)*
SU&W — Wedding Tuesday
SU&W — Wedding Tuesday
New Starting Time: 12:00 Come along, grab a coffee, shut up, and write! We will do two 45-minute writing sessions, with a 15-minute break in between. The first session starts at 10:45am. You can find us in the room on the right. For space reasons, we are limited to a certain number of attendees, so please update your RSVP if you can't come. If you are new, come and say hello, as we know that suddenly going quiet for 45 minutes and staring at that blank page can be intimidating when it's your first time. We have a lot of long-term regulars who will be happy to help you feel welcome. In between sessions, we have a Telegram chat: https://t.me/joinchat/ERW3pxD5kfELGeWs9SUhjw For more information, visit [https://shutupwrite.com](https://shutupwrite.com/).

Grenzen wahrnehmen. Das Unbekannte erforschen. Alternative "Ich's" ausprobieren.

**Termine**: 22./01, 12./02, 26./02, 12./03, 09./04, and 23./04. **Kosten**: kostenlos mit Anmeldung *\*\* Diese Veranstaltung ist Teil unseres Programms ‚****[Gemeinsam statt einsam](https://wearevillage.org/village-quartiere/addressing-queer-lonliness)****‚, unterstützt von der* ***[LADS](https://www.berlin.de/sen/lads/)****.* *Erfahre mehr über das Programm [hier](https://wearevillage.org/village-quartiere/addressing-queer-lonliness).* **From Loneliness to Community \| Creating Connections** **with *Marco Obermüller*** **Closed Group \| 6 Thursdays \| In German\*** für **LGBTQIA+** Free event with **[registration](https://wearevillage.org/en/shop/einsamkeitserien1/w04-2026/)** Loneliness can arise when people have few opportunities to experience genuine connection with others. This is where the group comes in, creating spaces in which a sense of belonging can be actively experienced. By working together on personal topics, a social space of resonance emerges that replaces isolation with relationship and contact. Through the structured sharing of experiences, loneliness becomes visible, discussable, and therefore open to change. Through facilitated interaction, shifts in perspective, small experiments in experiencing contact, and shared reflection, participants develop new forms of connectedness and strategies for social effectiveness. The group functions not only as a source of support, but also as a learning environment for shaping relationships. In this way, resilient connections are formed that extend beyond the individual meeting and help to sustainably reduce loneliness. **General Information** This group consists of a maximum of 15 participants. **Language**: This series will be held in German. This series is open to everyone. Your German should be fluent enough to follow an event in German. **Important**: you must commit to all 6 sessions. **Dates**: 22/01, 12/02, 26/02, 12/03, 09/04, and 23/04. **Closed Group**: This structure creates a supportive environment where participants can build deeper connections. **Cost**: free event with registration *\*\* This event is part of the we are village program ‘****[Belonging versus Lonelines](https://wearevillage.org/village-quartiere/addressing-queer-lonliness)****‘, with the support of* ***[LADS](https://www.berlin.de/sen/lads/en/)****.* *Learn more about the program [here](https://wearevillage.org/village-quartiere/addressing-queer-lonliness).*

This, her mother has told her, is the only way to get a "louding voice" -- the ability to speak for herself and decide her own future. But instead, Adunni's father sells her to be the third wife of a local man who is eager for her to bear him a son and heir. When Adunni runs away to the city, hoping to make a better life, she finds that the only other option before her is servitude to a wealthy family. As a yielding daughter, a subservient wife, and a powerless slave, Adunni is told, by words and deeds, that she is nothing. But while misfortunes might muffle her voice for a time, they cannot mute it. And when she realizes that she must stand up not only for herself, but for other girls, for the ones who came before her and were lost, and for the next girls, who will inevitably follow, she finds the resolve to speak, however she can--in a whisper, in song, in broken English--until she is heard
