Join us for a fun-filled evening of strategy games with the Glen Burnie Board Card Game Meetup Group! Whether you're a seasoned gamer or new to the world of tabletop games, this event is perfect for everyone. Expect a variety of exciting games such as board games and card games, new friends and enjoy a relaxing and social atmosphere while engaging in friendly competition. This game night promises to be filled with laughter, strategic thinking, and unforgettable memories. Don't miss out on a fantastic opportunity to connect with fellow gamers and have a great time!
Q: Is this event free?
A: Overall, yes, until you get addicted and start buying games too! There is an expectation to at least buy a drink from Panera to show our appreciation for having us.
Q: Where is everyone?
A: Everyone is located in the very back of Panera. However, we have grown and sometimes we tend to also take up half of Panera at times and can be found anywhere including outside when it is nice.
Q: What time is the event?
A: We start at 3:30 and we aren't strict on punctuality. Just keep in mind when arriving late you may have a little wait on joining in on a game.
Q: How do I start playing a game?
A: We all just kind of figure it out as we go. Just introduce yourself and we will try to help you get into a game
Q: What kind of games do you play?
A: We tend to play fast-paced games that are less than an hour long. However, we have grown and now have some members that like to play longer and more strategic games.
Q: Can I eat while I play?
A: Often yes, but always ask the owner of the game if it's ok.
Q: Do I have to bring a game?
A: No. we have a ton of games and we are always expanding our collection
Q: Can I bring a game? A: Absolutely! Every game at this event is brought by attendees. Just be sure you're familiar enough with the rules to teach new players.
Q: What if I didn't RSVP? A: We would ask that you RSVP for a future meetup and go to that one. We have gotten quite popular to the point of almost taking over the Panera. In the winter when it is cold out we can’t play games in the outside space and we don’t want to ruin our good standing or get in trouble with Panera. RSVPing also gives members a chance to know who they expect to see in the group. It also helps with emergency situations where we may need to move our location last minute and we can let you know so you don’t end up going to the wrong place.
Q: What if I have a problem with someone in the group? A: Please let the event organizers be aware of the issue or send a personal message to the organizer of the group. We are an inclusive group but if someone is the type of person who regularly ruins the enjoyment of the others in the game group, we may decide to remove them from the group. We will take it seriously and determine the course of action.
Thanks for joining and hope you have a great time when you attend. If you have a request or questions please feel free to message me 😃

Independence Day Hike - CANCELLED
(Cancelled because of excessive heat forecast. Hope to reschedule soon.) Another Fourth Of July is about to explode all around us, so it's time to renew the annual Independence Day hike at Great Falls (MD), an Adventuring tradition started by the late, great Damon Miller.
This will be an easy round-trip stroll of about five miles, starting and ending at the historic Great Falls Tavern on the C&O Canal. Shortly after our start downstream, we will detour off the Canal towpath across Bear and Olmstead Islands to the Falls Overlook, where we can savor its ever-fabulous view of Great Falls. Retracing our steps to the towpath, we will pass several locks and the impressive Widewater Basin. Our turnaround point near Anglers Inn just beyond Widewater features nearby restroom facilities.
Our return leg will be on the Berma Road atop the Washington Conduit that carries Potomac River water down to the Georgetown Reservoir. Once we're finished our hike back at the Tavern, we'll head over to the nearby picnic grounds to enjoy our lunches. Those who are still thirsty after our bully summer endeavor may consider adjourning to Anglers Inn for refreshments, if there's any room at the Inn.
Bring plenty of beverages, lunch and/or snacks, sunscreen, bug spray and the $5 Adventuring trip fee; carpool passengers from Tenleytown Metro should also give their drivers $5, plus a share of the Park Admission Fee in case the entrance stations are staffed. (Bring a National Parks Pass if you have one; it will get your entire carload in for free.)
Those needing rides and those able to offer rides will form our carpool at the Tenleytown Metro Station in front of the Panera at Wisconsin Avenue and Albemarle Street at 11 a.m. Carpool participants will rendezvous at the Great Falls Tavern with those driving directly to the Park at 11:45 a.m. The Tavern's address is 11710 MacArthur Boulevard, Potomac, MD 20854. We should finish by 3 p.m.
NEW! Please [click here](https://adventuringlgbtq.com/Adventuring_Release_Form.pdf) to review our release form. When you RSVP to an event, you affirm that you have read and agree to the terms of the release. Everyone must RSVP on their own behalf.

From Glen Echo's Charm to the Majestic Great Falls with E-bike Lovers
[https://ridewithgps.com/routes/45899232](https://ridewithgps.com/routes/45899232)
26.1 miles. Lunch is at the Great Falls overlook 18.2 miles into the ride. There are toilets at Great Falls and Fletchers' Boathouse.
We will e-bike from Glen Echo Park in Maryland to the majestic Great Falls. We will be biking on the Capital Crescent Trail, the C&O Canal pathway, and McArthur Blvd with separate biking lanes. This tour captures the essence of adventure and natural beauty.
We will be meandering alongside the serene Potomac River and the C&O Canal, offering E-bike Lovers an unparalleled opportunity to immerse themselves in the lush landscapes that define this region.
Glen Echo Park, with its rich tapestry of cultural and artistic heritage, serves as the perfect prologue to a journey that gradually unfolds into the wild, untamed beauty of the Great Falls.
The route is just over 26 miles on gravel and asphalt. The gravel is compact. If you don't like the gravel on the C&O Canal pathway, this is not your route.
Entrance to the Great Falls National Park is for free as we enter from the C&O Canal.
We park at the large parking lot off Oxford Street, NOT at the smaller lot at McArthur Blvd.
Please bring snacks, lunch and plenty of water.
FYI: Ride With GPS E-bike Lovers Club membership is now for free as [www.ebikelovers.com](http://www.ebikelovers.com/) generates sufficient income from ads to cover the costs.

Please RSVP only if you are coming so we know how many E-bike Lovers will participate. We enjoy a nearly 100% RSVP success rate.
Thank you so much for your help!
As usual, non-assisted bikers are most welcome.
