We will be playing **Dune: Imperium** and **Dune: Imperium - Uprising** with up to 4 players per game. All experience levels welcome. Expect the game teach to start promptly within the first 10 minutes. **Dune: Imperium** is a game that uses deck building to add a hidden information angle to traditional worker placement. As a leader of one of the Great Houses of the Landsraad, raise your banner and marshal your forces and spies. War is coming, and at the center of the conflict is Arrakis – Dune, the desert planet. Cards allow you to send your Agents to certain spaces on the game board, so how your deck evolves affects your strategy. You might become more powerful militarily, able to deploy more troops than your opponents. We'll be offering a Free Learn to Skate Clinic 10am Saturday next to the Carter Barron Amphitheatre parking lot in Rock Creek Park. Inline and roller skaters welcome. Protective gear required, including helmets (a bike helmet will do), wristguards, elbow pads, and kneepads.. We have loaner skates and protective gear available. If you need to borrow gear, please contact us at least a couple of days in advance of this session so we'll know to bring it for you. If you need skates, please specify roller skates or inlines and also men's or women's sizes.

A: We tend to play fast-paced games that are less than an hour long. However, we have grown and now have some members that like to play longer and more strategic games. Q: Can I eat while I play? A: Often yes, but always ask the owner of the game if it's ok. Q: Do I have to bring a game? A: No. we have a ton of games and we are always expanding our collection Q: Can I bring a game? A: Absolutely! Every game at this event is brought by attendees. Just be sure you're familiar enough with the rules to teach new players. Q: What if I didn't RSVP? A: We would ask that you RSVP for a future meetup and go to that one. We have gotten quite popular to the point of almost taking over the Panera. In the winter when it is cold out we can’t play games in the outside space and we don’t want to ruin our good standing or get in trouble with Panera. RSVPing also gives members a chance to know who they expect to see in the group. It also helps with emergency situations where we may need to move our location last minute and we can let you know so you don’t end up going to the wrong place. Q: What if I have a problem with someone in the group? A: Please let the event organizers be aware of the issue or send a personal message to the organizer of the group. We are an inclusive group but if someone is the type of person who regularly ruins the enjoyment of the others in the game group, we may decide to remove them from the group. As a reminder, since Freedom Plaza is under construction, we will meet at the plaza in front of The International Trade Center near the National Children's Museum (on Pennsylvania Ave). We'll begin with going over a few drills (varies week to week). The skills we drill will be for the first 30 minutes. For the second half, we will casually skate down the bike lanes on Pennsylvania Avenue from the plaza to the U.S.Capitol and stop at 3rd St. and then skate back the same route. This route is about 2 miles in total and is perfect for those who are new to skating in the city but feel comfortable on skates in a parking lot or roller rink. This is also great if you wish to start with shorter routes to increase your physical fitness or stamina for some of the other routes. This is an excellent opportunity to prepare to skate with others on the road. You will also get to meet skaters who will arrive for the Intermediate and Advanced skate routes following the introductory skate. This is great training to feel prepared for the Tuesday Night and Friday Night Skate! Please join us the 3rd Wednesday of each month to learn more about the Columbus Ski Club and what we have to offer. Pizza, wings and a variety of appetizers provided. We are a non-profit organization founded in 1958 with over 800 members. The club has grown beyond the single mission of providing members with not only quality skiing events but also year round social and sport activities. Our gatherings are an opportunity for members and non-members to interact and learn about the many activities offered such as euchre, billiards, volleyball, pickleball, tennis, bowling, golf & softball leagues along with ski and non-ski trips. Our members also plan group activities such as visits to wine tastings, bike trips, comedy clubs, concerts, plays and local sports games, etc. CSC membership is not required to belong to the Meetup group. Membership is required in order to participate in most club activities (CSC member). However, anyone (21 and over) is welcome at our meeting gatherings which consist of checking out our current activities and socializing. The annual dues for club membership are $35 with the membership year from September 1st – August 31st.
