Smashing! Try something new Thursday
Interactive workshop - Become the charismatic leader
Serious about improving your leadership - **Why mess, come to the best**
Why is Smashing different to other speaking clubs?
Just one member's thoughts, "The fun/laughs factor is definitely a point of difference. We keep it moving with high standards so itâs a nice balance. Too strict makes it tense and boring, too loose and we can lose the energy/commercial feel. SmashSpeak's vibe's in the sweet spot."
**Free parking** close: O'Connell and Cobden streets
**IMPORTANT: Be on time, as doors close when the show starts**

How is it that you can Help kids or yourself to become a better student!
Too many kids as well as teenagers and adults have problems with study.
Today's meetup will inform you about the basics in STUDY TECHNOLOGY that provides an understanding of the basics of learning and supplies exact ways to overcome all the pitfalls one can encounter during study. This is applicable to young children, teenagers (or their parents that are trying to help them) and adults alike.
Study Technology shows how one studies in order to comprehend a subject so one can apply it. Laws on which learning is based and workable methods have also been discovered for anyone to apply for themselves or when teaching others.
Too many students graduate from school and college unable to put to use what theyâve learned in school.
Itâs not that theyâre stupid or that their teachers didnât know how to teach.
More than likely it traces back to the one thing missing from most educationsâlearning how to learn in the first place.
We all went to school, yet isnât it odd that no one taught us how to study?
The information presented at this meetup can help anyone improve others or his own ability to learn.
It is a practical tool that parents and teachers alike can use to enhance a child's study performance. Youâll learn the barriers that lie between your own or a child's education.
And you will very quickly learn how to overcome them.
This technology will enable you or a child to pursue any subject with skill and confidence.
Teachers who have "hard to handle/distributive " or slow learners in class will absolutely love the amazing turn around most often seen in improved behaviour and student performance in class.
If you or your child has difficulties at school (or learning new things at work or online) than this meetup is important to you.
If you can not make it to our meetup than contact the organizer and arrange it to suit your time.
This technology can if one was to live far away be taught online. (extension course)
You may offcourse also opt to have this technology taught to your own child by experienced volunteeer staff or learn about this yourself and transfer this knowledge to those you want to have better grades.
Yes it is possible to improve anyone's study performance. All it takes is just 5 steps.
See you at this meetup.

Sunday Brunch: Money, Meaning & Working Differently
A warm, low-pressure Sunday brunch for good humans to meet, connect and have real conversations.
This first gathering will centre around the theme:
## **Money, Meaning & Working Differently**
**Register here**: [https://events.humanitix.com/good-humans-good-vibes-sunday-brunch-money-meaning-and-working-differently-june-2026](https://events.humanitix.com/good-humans-good-vibes-sunday-brunch-money-meaning-and-working-differently-june-2026)
Weâll be joined by two wonderful co-hosts who are both building intentional careers, and are both avid fans of the book *We Should All Be Millionaires* by Rachel Rodgers.
Together, weâll open up a gentle, honest conversation about money, work, wealth, values and sustainability:
* Can good humans want more money?
* What does it mean to build wealth while staying connected to your values?
* Why do so many thoughtful, values-led people feel uncomfortable talking about money?
* How do we build work, careers and businesses that support our lives?
* What changes when more kind, thoughtful and justice-minded people have more resources?
* How do we price, earn, negotiate, grow or make decisions in ways that feel more aligned?
You do not need to have read the book. You do not need to run a business. You do not need to have your money stuff figured out.
Just come as you are.
## **What to expect**
This will be a casual brunch with a little bit of gentle structure.
There will be:
* A short welcome
* A relaxed conversation with our co-hosts
* Space for everyone to meet and chat
* Good humans, good conversations and good vibes
* A warm, friendly environment where you can connect without needing to perform
The aim is simple: to create a space where values-aligned people can meet, share ideas, and leave feeling a little more energised, supported and connected.
## **Registration**
This helps us confirm numbers and cover the cost of running events. As part of our social enterprise model, **50% of ticket proceeds go towards causes that matter**.
Please note: tickets do **not** include food or drinks. Youâll be able to order and pay for your own food and drinks directly at the venue.
#### **Standard - $20**
Choose this option if you can comfortably contribute the standard amount.
#### **Pay-What-You-Can - Any amount you like**
Choose this option if you would like to contribute a different amount.
No explanation needed. Choose the amount that feels right for your circumstances.
#### **Pay It Forward - Optional**
If you have the capacity and would like to contribute a little extra, this helps make future Good Humans, Good Vibes gatherings more accessible and sustainable.
## **A note on the vibe**
This is a connection-first gathering.
You might meet people you could work with, collaborate with, refer to, learn from or cheer on - and that would be lovely. The heart of the event, though, is good conversation, generosity, curiosity and care.
Please come with respect for the room and the people in it. We want this to feel warm, inclusive and easy to be part of.
## **Co-hosts**
The conversations at this first brunch will be gently co-hosted by two wonderful good humans.
###

### **Anya Roslan**
Anya is down-to-earth, generous and full of energy - the kind of person who makes a room feel more alive, more honest and more possible.
She is currently launching **soft pause**, a wellness brand centred on rest, care and more sustainable ways of living and working. Alongside this, Anya works as a fractional growth lead and strategist, helping ambitious teams grow with more clarity and momentum.

### **Sakshi S. Jansen**
Sakshi is warm, funny and wonderfully direct - the person you want at the table when the conversation gets honest, interesting and a little bit cheeky.
She is the founder of **Koala Lab**, an email/newsletter strategy specialist helping founders, experts and creative businesses build stronger relationships with their audiences through better content, email and communication.
***
Together, they bring **humour**, **honesty** and a **refreshingly human** point of view to conversations about **money**, **work**, **ambition**, **rest**, and what it means to build **a life that** actually **feels good to live**.
## **Accessibility and inclusion**
We want this to feel welcoming and accessible.
If there is anything that would help you feel more comfortable attending, please reach out.
You are welcome to come alone.
You are especially welcome if you are introverted, do not know anyone, or are still figuring out what you are building, doing or becoming.
## **Questions?**
Reach out to Lavinia via the Contact host button here or message Lavinia on LinkedIn.
## **Come for the brunch. Stay for the good humans.**
We would love to have you there.

Practising Group Conversations: A Structured Social Skills Meetup
# đ *Breat Procrastination and Staring at The Crowd When at Social Events with Taking a Minimum Viable Step!*
Do you want to feel confident stepping into group conversations, knowing exactly what to say, when to say it, and how to build momentum naturally?
Do you want a clear structure that makes socialising feel *doable*, while still allowing real, organic, human connection?
This session blends **structure with spontaneity**, so you can practise social confidence in a way that actually works for your brain.
# đŹ WHAT THIS SESSION IS ABOUT
This is a **guided practice lab** for group interaction.
Instead of guessing what to say, you will work with:
⢠specific topics chosen by the group on the day
⢠simple, powerful questions to guide conversation
⢠structured rounds that make it easier to start and continue interactions
You are not performing or âbeing socialâ on command, you are learning a **repeatable process** that helps you enter conversations naturally and build depth from there.
The structure gives you clarity.
Your responses stay *real, personal, and fully your own.*
# đ§ WHY THIS WORKS
## *Minimum Viable Steps (MVS)*
Starting conversations is often the hardest part.
So instead of forcing yourself to âbe socialâ, we focus on:
### *Minimum Viable Steps (MVS)*
Small, achievable actions like:
⢠approaching a group
⢠listening for context
⢠asking one simple question
⢠sharing one small response
These steps reduce overwhelm and help you build momentum naturally.
You are not powering through, you are **following a chain of small wins** that lead into flow.
# đ HOW THE SESSION RUNS
This session is structured into **timed rounds (approx. 8 minutes each)**.
Each round gives you a clear, simple objective.
## đš *Structured Group Rounds*
⢠You will begin in small groups with a defined topic
⢠Each round includes suggested questions to guide interaction
⢠You are free to respond in your own way, nothing scripted
## đš *Rotations*
At the end of each round:
⢠two people rotate out of each group
⢠each joins a different group
This creates:
⢠clarity on where to go next
⢠repeated practice starting new conversations
⢠exposure to different dynamics and people
*No guessing. No awkward hovering. Just clear next steps.*
# đĄ TOPICS & QUESTIONS
At the start of the session, we will:
⢠gather topics participants are genuinely interested in
⢠write them down and use them throughout the rounds
Each round will include **simple, open questions** related to the topic, designed to:
⢠spark conversation easily
⢠create direction without rigidity
⢠allow natural sharing and depth
You follow the structure, but what you share is always your own.
# đą WHAT YOU WILL PRACTISE
⢠starting conversations decisively (again and again)
⢠entering groups with clarity instead of hesitation
⢠listening before contributing
⢠asking simple questions that open conversation
⢠building flow through small, manageable steps
⢠rotating between groups with confidence
⢠staying present without overwhelm
Over time, this becomes **automatic**.
# đ BEFORE & AFTER
At the beginning:
⢠you will complete a short reflection on meaningful connection in your life
At the end:
⢠you will share what worked, what did not, and what could be improved
This helps shape future sessions based on what actually supports you.
# đ A NOTE FROM THE FACILITATOR
This is not about being the most confident person in the room.
It is about learning a structure that helps you:
⢠take action
⢠reduce overwhelm
⢠build real connection step by step
You do not need to get it perfect.
##*** You just need to take the next small step.***

FAITH MISSION â GRANT KITCHEN: The Faith Mission kitchen and dining room serves residents 3 meals a day, every day of the year. For this event, our group will help prepare food, serve meals, assist residents in the dining room, wash dishes, and clean surfaces.
PLAN: We will be preparing / serving / cleaning for DINNER from 4:30 to 6:30pm and have space for a total of 7 volunteers. Please arrive at 4:20pm and wear closed-toe shoes and long pants.
LOCATION: Faith Mission â Grant Kitchen is located at 245 N. Grant Ave. Enter the kitchen at Dock 1 (in the back of the building), indicated in the attached map. On-site parking in the adjacent lot and street parking are available in the surrounding area. Below are some links / attachments with additional info/details:
IMPORTANT REMINDER: Our group will be providing all of the volunteers on this day so a firm RSVP count is essential. Please only sign up if you are certain youâll be able to attend. If something unavoidable comes up, please try to update your RSVP no later than one week prior to the event. With few exceptions, no shows or cancelations within 1 week of the event will not be eligible for future CMG Gives Back events. I appreciate your understanding as we try to ensure the agencies have the volunteers needed to provide the essential services they provide to the vulnerable population they serve. Our Partner Agency for this event is Lutheran Social Services! A huge THANK YOU to those volunteering at this (or any of our previous or future) CMG Gives Back events!
Look forward to seeing you there, Dan

Columbus Comedy Improv Meetup at Gresso's!
Whether you've never done improv before, or you've done it for so long you were quoted in *Truth in Comedy*, or anywhere in between, come join us! Swing by *Gresso's* for the **Columbus Improv Comedy Meetup**!
The idea behind improvised comedy is to create entire scenes from scratch. A suggestion is taken from the audience and laughter is built on the spot. This can be done in game form, like *Whose Line Is It Anyway, Make Some Noise,* or *Wild 'n Out*; it can also be done in a longer way, to tell a complicated story, like *TJ & Dave*.
Our meetup, which is central Ohio's longest running (and FREE!) weekly comedy event, brings the games for you to play in a safe, supportive, and compassionate environment. Afterward, many members will hang out in *Gresso's* itself and get to know each other. Not only is this a lot of fun, but you get to work on thinking faster on your feet, your public speaking, plus it's an excellent way to meet new people and build relationships that will last a lifetime, and you do that while laughing your butt off!
Ask yourself if you want to join the **Columbus Improv Comedy Meetup**, and say "*Yes, And*" that you'll have a blast!
Volunteer Opportunity
Open Shelter has teamed up again with Red White and Boom! Friday, July 3rd & we are looking for volunteers to run the eventâs alcohol booths. Proceeds from sales go to the Open Shelterâs organization.
There are two available shifts: 12-6p & 5-11p.
There will be an ipad-like device to process transactions in addition to cash. Everything will be in bottles or cans, so transactions should be very easy. Must be 21+.
There are multiple beverage stations along the Civic Center Bridge. The stations are covered and also have beverage trucks next to them, so volunteers can cool off in the trucks.
As far as parking, it is suggested those who are coming from the east use the Columbus Commons Garage, and those from the west use the Belle Street Garage.
Harry from the Open Shelter will be your contact.

Our next much-awaited **COLUMBUS** meetup is **Tuesday June 30th from 7-10 pm EST at ACE OF CUPS**. Meet patients, cultivators, processors, dispensary managers/staff, physicians, home growers, educators, activists, nonprofits, artists, attorneys, business owners, writers, students, and supporters to network, share our knowledge, collaborate, support each other and make new ones!
Hope you will be there too! Save the date and pass the word. **Please RSVP** so we know who is coming and how many to expect.
Find us to say hi and we will introduce you to others. We should be easy to spot. (The happy-looking group wearing cool nametags! See photos from our past events.) Sign in, grab a name tag, start your own bar/food tab, meet old friends and make new ones! Everyone is welcome. SEE YOU THERE!
