Informal, fun class with welcoming group of international students, taught by a fully qualified and experienced Drama lecturer, voice coach, EFL and linguistics teacher - who also happens to be a critically acclaimed theatre director and film maker. Learn, improve, perform and meet new people in a relaxed atmosphere in a professional studio environment. The class is designed to improve pronunciation and practice Received Pronunciation; to fully engage with the language and learn to speak, listen and communicate like native english speakers. Students will have the opportunity to practice through drama games, improvisation and role play exercises. A particular focus will be on communicating in different registers and there will be set specific grammar targets for the group each week . We will meet at Pret A Manger 81 Picadilly {downstairs} near Green Park at 10.30 am for a hot drink, at 11 am, we will leave and start our walk. The walk starts at Knightbridge and we will be walking through some Town Squares, Gardens & Mews, and we will walking through parts of Belgravia, Chelsea & Kensington., with it's different architecture, which is well worth seeing. A big tome this time…..but 2 months to read it. To Paradise, by Hanya Yanagihara, has been sitting in my bookshelf for years. The reviews are universally excellent with, for instance, The Observer describing it as a masterpiece. “ it rewrites America’s past, present and future. Set across 700 pages (told you it was big) the result spectacular. It a complex work of intertwined human relationships, but is also sublimely readable.

Following on from a really great previous meet-up here in 2024 we're returning for a relaxed Sunday Meet-Up at the Young V&A (formerly the museum of childhood). There is absolutely loads for children to do here, from construction toys, to a mini theatre, to drawing in moving sand. It's the perfect place for the children to let off some energy when the weather is not on our side. The activities would easily entertain children aged 0 to 11. The museum is a 2-minute walk away from Bethnal Green underground station, or a 5-minute walk from Cambridge Heath Overground. Buses 106, 254, and 388 stop nearby. There is minimal parking for cars, but good bike parking out the front of the museum. Entry to the museum is free. Meet in the big hall as you walk in, just on the left. Look for the pride flags on the buggy/bag.

Our acclaimed Wednesday workshop returns - we'll be looking at Lorca's classic drama exploring fate, passion, and societal expectations. A bride elopes with her former lover on her wedding day, triggering deadly consequences.
