Könyvhét & Könyves Duma | Book Week & Casual Book Chat
**English below ----------------------**
A menetrend a következĆ:
**14:00 â GyĂŒlekezĆ Ă©s bemutatkozĂĄs**
A Vörösmarty-szobor környĂ©kĂ©n talĂĄlkozunk.
**14:15 â IndulĂĄs a standok közĂ©**
**15:00 â TalĂĄlkozĂł a KiskirĂĄlylĂĄnynĂĄl(VigadĂł tĂ©r)**
A nĂ©zelĆdĂ©s utĂĄn 15:00-kor a KiskirĂĄlylĂĄny-szobornĂĄl talĂĄlkozunk Ășjra a VigadĂł tĂ©ren.
**15:20 - 17:00 â Könyves duma a VĂĄroshĂĄza Parkban** LetelepedĂŒnk a parkban, ahol picit ĂĄtbeszĂ©ljĂŒk a könyvheti Ă©lmĂ©nyeket, meg persze jöhet a kötetlen beszĂ©lgetĂ©s bĂĄrmilyen könyvrĆl.
**English version / International attendees:**
This is our first casual, free-form event. Instead of discussing a specific book, weâll visit the Festive Book Week together and see how this format works.
* **14:00 â Meetup:** Near the Vörösmarty statue. Look for a bigger group and a guy holding a **Moby Dick** book. We'll do a quick intro and share what everyone wants to check out.
* **14:15 â Heading out:** We'll explore the stands in smaller groups. If you're late, just drop a comment here and catch up with us later.
* **15:00 â Re-grouping:** At the Little Princess Statue (KiskirĂĄlylĂĄny) at VigadĂł Square, followed by a 10-minute walk to VĂĄroshĂĄza Park.
* **15:20 - 17:00 â Book Chat:** We'll settle down in VĂĄroshĂĄza Park to talk about our Book Week finds and books in general. The official event ends at 17:00, but feel free to stay longer!
> đ **Language note:** Since this is a local event, most attendees will likely speak Hungarian, but the organizers and many of us speak fluent English. Feel free to join us, we are happy to chat in English and make sure you're included!

F\*ck the Small Talk has traveled the world from Berlin, London, Lisbon, to Buenos Aires, and is now in **Budapest!**
âš **WHAT'S THIS ABOUT?**
FTST is an out-of-the-box **social experience** where strangers come together for an afternoon of meaningful, fun, and deep conversation. Itâs also a different & cool way of meeting new people by getting a bit out of your comfort zone and skipping the small talk!
Join us for **games**, **talks**, and **connections** with **friends you havenât met yet**. Join if you get annoyed after being asked what you do, where you are from, and how long you've been in Budapest every single time you meet someone. If you feel that there are better questions in life, this is the place for you.
âš **HOW DOES IT WORK?**
We start with a short & sweet intro talk followed by a few light-hearted group games to warm up. After that, we split you up into small groups and start with the conversation rounds (with 3-4 people). We'll have awesome question cards that will guide the flow of the conversation. You'll be guided by an experienced host (Keely, you'll love her!) who'll make sure everything goes smoothly.
**âš HOW TO JOIN?**
**[Take 1 minute to sign up](https://luma.com/ftst3budapest)**
On your phone and canât click? Click the link in the comments :)
Our events are **limited to 30 handpicked guests** to ensure a cozy atmosphere. **Confirm your spot on the link above** to make it happen! We prioritize a balance of gender and age. If you're invited you'll receive a confirmation within 48 hours via Luma (our ticketing platform)
NOTE: We won't validate your payment unless you've been accepted! (which you most likely will â€ïž)
**âš HOW MUCH IS IT?**
The cost to attend is HUF 5,900 (early bird) HUF 6,900 (general), and includes the following:
đŁïž3 hours of facilitated and curated activities
đ Access to the **Llamas** **in** **Budapest** WhatsApp group
đ Light snacks to keep the energy going
đA space to meet **new** **people** in the least boring way possible
đ Supporting our **mission** of fueling human connection
*( also includes those pesky **ticket fees**!)*
**âš WHERE IS IT?**
We host our events in awesome venues and parks across the city. We only **reveal the exact location** upon confirmation. Since this event will be **outdoors in a park**\*, please bring a blanket or something you feel comfortable sitting on in the grass. Weâll gather in small groups of 3â4 people so that blankets will be shared. đł
\*In case of bad weather, the location will be changed to an indoor venue. Location TBD.
**âš WHAT THEY SAY**
âThis is the kind of activity **humanity needs every weekend**. Thank you for all.â
*\- Sonya*
âF\*ck the Small Talk changes the narrative from *"Where are you from?"* to *"When was the last time you laughed uncontrollably?"* and I think **that's beautiful.**â
\- Monika
"Itâs a **wonderful** **experience**, itâs like being a kid again, when you were at the park, playing with other kids, and just decided you were going to be best friends for the next hours. Maybe youâll never see those kids again. But that hour was amazing because you both opened up and trusted each other."
\- Sara
**[Read our 220+ Google reviews here](https://goo.gl/maps/TpZy77bfPFkGoikn7)**
*(we ain't your typical meetup)*
**âš FAQ**
**âą Can I come alone?**
Of course, everyone does!
**âą Can I be late?**
Please don't! Late arrivals will disrupt the floooooooow.
**âą I signed up but never got an invite. Why?**
We usually get a high volume of sign-ups, yet we like keeping it cozy & only invite around 30 people. Please try again next time if you do not receive an invite - no hard feelings
**âą Is this a networking or dating event?**
Nope! Think of us as the *anti-networking* and *anti-speed dating* event. Thereâs no pressure, no pitches, and no cringy icebreakers. Instead, we create spaces where strangers can connect through fun & meaningful conversations. Itâs all about authentic connection, no business cards or romantic expectations required. (doesnât mean it *canât* happen, itâs just not the intention!)

\* Location is only revealed to ticket holders!
\* Age guide, 22-42ish years old (only a reference of what you expect, not a limit )
***đ” This event is a no-phone experience đ”***
We started in Berlin back in 2019 out of the frustration of being asked 'where are you from?' a million times at every single meetup! Now there are chapters in nearly 20 cities, including London, Lisbon, Buenos Aires, Zurich, and Vancouver! ïž

Danube Canoe Trip
We will meet, arrive at the location, and collect the equipment.
Then weâll have a safety briefing and basic paddling instruction.
After that, weâll launch the boats and practice a little in the bay. Children must wear life jackets. Adults who can swim may choose not to wear them, but must still keep them in the canoe.
We will paddle downstream, go around the cape, and enter the so-called dead branch â where there is almost no current. Weâll see swans, ducks, herons, and other birds. In sunny weather, we may spot turtles. There is also a chance to encounter an otter or even a roe deer on the shore.
On the way back, weâll pass through a narrow channel in the reeds and then under the hanging branches of fairytale-like trees. And for sure, we will definitely meet the crocodile!
The total route is 9 km â an ideal distance for beginners. Weâll have lunch in a meadow, and the children will be able to play and swim in the bay.
Early booking â until June 11: 16,000 HUF/person
â
Until June 12, 14:00: 18,000 HUF
â
Standard price: 20,000 HUF
Children up to and including 9 years old receive a 2,000 HUF discount.

Open Dharma Budapest - Free Meditation in a Teahouse
Open Dharma Budapest is a friendly meditation sangha for anyone interested in meditation. Every Sunday we gather for 1â1.5 hours at a local tea house to sit together, share, and support each other on the path.
What to expect: Each session begins with a 20-minute silent sit, followed by an open, voluntary sharing of our experiences â a space to process what arises in practice, together.
Attention: This is not a guided meditation class. We explore a range of techniques rooted in TheravÄda Buddhism, with a modern and pragmatic approach - open to both seasoned practitioners and complete beginners.
Your host: Sessions are hosted by Maria East, a long-term practitioner of TheravÄda, VajrayÄna, and Dzogchen, with over 10 silent retreats over the last 5 years. Maria is also a clinical psychologist in training, who is happy to offer additional support if practice brings up anything challenging.

Beginner/Intermediate Guitar Class
Looking forward to see you again this Sunday!
Tea and sweets are served right after the class to socialize and chat about random things. And of course I'm ready to answer your questions.
**General description of the class:**
Our class is open both for complete beginners, as well as intermediate players who want to level up their skills.
We will have enough time to cover the basics (for newcomers), discuss what we would like to improve and get playing! I also speak Hungarian, so if there is anyone who doesnât understand English, I will translate on the go.
Any newcomers are welcome and I will help you to get started and develop together with others.
**What to bring:**
* A pen and notebook, so you can take notes as needed.
* Guitar (if you don't have one, you can use mine during the class, but definitely you should get a guitar later if you want to learn guitar properly).
This event is totally **free of charge**, **but I appreciate donations, which helps me, the organizer, to cover the bills. Recommended donation: 2,500 HUF.**
Feel free to **bring your friends**. We have enough space!

Neurodivergent Women Navigating Midlife Changes - Sleep, Rest, and Connection
Sleep, Rest & Connection:
Building Our Community Together
Join us for the next gathering of The Pause Collective â a supportive meetup for neurodivergent women navigating perimenopause, menopause, burnout, overwhelm, and life transitions.
Since many of us haven't yet had the opportunity to meet, we'll begin by getting to know one another and sharing what brought us to this community.
We'll also explore one of the most common challenges many women experience during this season of life: sleep.
Whether you're navigating insomnia, waking up in the middle of the night, racing thoughts, night sweats, exhaustion, burnout, or simply not feeling rested, you're not alone.
This will be a relaxed, low-pressure coffee shop meetup focused on connection and conversation.
No need to prepare anything.
No pressure to share.
Come as you are.
Together we'll:
âą Introduce ourselves and get to know one another
âą Share what brought us to The Pause Collective
âą Discuss sleep, rest, and energy during perimenopause and menopause
âą Exchange ideas, experiences, and support
âą Explore what topics we'd like to discuss in future gatherings
âą Continue building the kind of community we'd like to create together
This space is neurodivergent-affirming, self-diagnosis-friendly, and supportive of different communication styles and energy levels.
Quiet participation is welcome. Listening is participating.
Whether you're looking for support, learning, friendship, or simply a place where you don't have to explain yourself, you are welcome here.
I look forward to meeting you.

Register at the Columbus AWS meetup: [https://www.meetup.com/columbus-aws-amazon-web-services-meetup/events/313426379/](https://www.meetup.com/columbus-aws-amazon-web-services-meetup/events/313426379/)
Over a billion documents processed. Millions of Veterans impacted. Hundreds of thousands of employee hours saved. Faster decisions. Greater accuracy. More benefits in the hands of our disabled Veterans.
We created Smart Search, the worldâs largest consumer of Amazon Textract, right when GenAI began reshaping whatâs possible. Since then, weâve built a suite of AIâdriven solutions that transform this data into real, measurable outcomesâaccelerating benefits decisions for our Nationâs Veterans.
Join us for a focused conversation on how an outcomeâdriven approach to AI is helping us boost accuracy, streamline workflows, and deliver faster results for those who have served.
This is a follow up to the AWS re:Invent 2023 "Intelligent Document Processing with Gen AI for Public Sector" presentation.
