Mob Programming at Mofer Coffee
Mob Programming at Mofer Coffee
Let’s do some coding together at a cafe! No more working alone in the weekend. Here, we write code together. And I mean together together. Not occupying-the-same-space-but-separate together. Here’s how it works: Jennifer brings her mobile app project, tells everyone that it is like Pinterest for recipes and she’d like to work on the nav bar. Paul and Chloe think Jennifer's project is fascinating, and they join the group. They gather around Jennifer’s laptop and work on the nav bar for 2 hours. Jennifer is the one typing out the code while Paul and Chloe research, brainstorm, and offer suggestions. If you’re feeling stuck on your own project or need a motivation boost, bring it to mob programming! Want to learn by watching how others code and solve problems? Join someone else’s project at this event! Oh and we love your half-done projects that you are a bit embarrassed to share. Absolutely bring those to the event! **Discord**: We use Discord to share screen & code snippets during the event. Also feel free to share your projects here before the event! https://discord.gg/yvAGbh4PpD **Event policy**: * We have 0 tolerance for harassment. * We don’t allow the projects that are not meant to be shared in public such as school assignments, interview tasks, or trade secrets. * The goal is to write code. We discourage you from pitching business ideas here, doing code reviews, or spending the whole event on planning what to do. * Please buy a drink, and tip the barista well.

\*\***The Toronto History Walks Yearly Pass is available. Get it now for $125.00 for 1 year of unlimited tours, email** **torontohistorywalks@gmail.com** **for more information or for signing up!\*\*** \*\* **Please note: Please e-transfer the ticket price when booking your space for this tour! You can e-transfer to the following email at:** **torontohistorywalks@gmail.com** John and William Hogg, sons to James Hogg, subdivided the marshy land that became "Hoggs Hollow." It took a little time to encourage settlers to develop the land due to the inhospitable environment, but settlers moved in over the following decades. With the historic village of York Mills adjacent, a school, post office, pottery, blacksmith, livery, stable, store, cemetery and St. John's Anglican Church served Scottish, Irish and English immigrants. The history of modern Hogg's Hollow began in the 1920s with the creation of lots, and homes reflected the beauty of the English countryside. The Baron Renfrew School opened in 1925 to replace a structure at 45 York Mills Road that was destroyed by fire. Hogg's Hollow is certainly far from the tourist centre to the south, and is well worth exploring. With Yonge Street its main street, the community has a fascinating history that has long gone uncovered. Give Hogg's Hollow a look and you might stay awhile. I promise! This walk is for all walking levels. Please dress for the season and bring water. Our Hogg's Hollow adventure walk begins at the Yonge Street doors of the York Mills Subway station. We head south and downhill and return to our starting point. Hope to see you there! This tour has a ticket price of $15.00 per person! \*\* **Please note: Please e-transfer the ticket price when booking your space for this tour! Historic Little India: Gerrard India Bazaar (REVISED FOR 2026)
Historic Little India: Gerrard India Bazaar (REVISED FOR 2026)
\*\***The Toronto History Walks Explorer Pass is available. Get it now for $125.00 for 1 year of unlimited tours, email** **torontohistorywalks@gmail.com** **for more information or for signing up!\*\*** \*\* **Please note: Please e-transfer the Ticket amount when booking your space for this tour! You can e-transfer to the following email at:** **torontohistorywalks@gmail.com** The story of historic Little India is a true Toronto success story, a unique look at a neighbourhood and the people who call it home. But the story is not always a happy one. Like all other areas in Toronto, Little India started out as a purely English - Anglican area and was repeatedly changed as other immigrants opted to leave the security of the downtown core for outer areas. With the opening of the Naaz theatre in 1972, the community that became Little India started to take shape, but in Toronto the forces that developed communities were different in that part of the city sandwiched between Leslieville to the south, and Greektown to the north. With a strictly Anglo-Saxon pro-British community entrenched for over 100 years, now changing to include south Asians, the area was seen as a rather depressed area, or an area in transition, and violence was an unfortunate part of life. Racial tensions increased dramatically with the influx of south Asians. But by the 1980s and 1990s the district had found its feet, and Little India was a popular Toronto district and tourist attraction, with visitors pouring in from around the world to partake of the richness. A true cultural enclave in Toronto! A fascinating history and a fascinating community awaits! This tour has been revised a few times to add more historic information to the walk, it has been revised once again for 2026 with new landmarks and stories attached. Should be a fascinating walk! This walk is for all fitness levels. The meeting place for our walking adventure is on the southwest corner of Greenwood Avenue and Gerrard Street East! This tour has a ticket price of $15.00 per person! \*\* **Please note: Please e-transfer the Ticket amount when booking your space for this tour! 🎤🍻 SOCIAL NIGHT & KARAOKE @ TAPS BAR & GRILL 🍻🎤
🎤🍻 **NIGHT SOCIAL & KARAOKE @ TAPS BAR & GRIL**L 🍻🎤 Good Food, Good Vibes & A Mic (If You Want It) Sometimes the best way to meet people… isn’t a walk — it’s a table, a drink, and a little bit of chaos in the form of karaoke. Join us for a relaxed, social night at Taps Bar and Grill — a laid-back spot where we can hang out, eat, laugh, and (optionally) take the stage. This is one of those nights where there’s no pressure to perform, no expectations — just a group of people getting together, having a good time, and maybe cheering each other on. Sing if you want. Don’t sing if you don’t want. Either way — you’re part of the fun. 👉 **Don’t forget to join our WhatsApp group** – [CLICK HERE!](https://chat.whatsapp.com/H59mSCbsAi018gYANrKAnc?mode=ac_t) *** 🎤 What We’ll Do We’ll meet outside Taps and head in together to grab a table. From there, it’s all about settling in — ordering food, having some drinks, and getting to know each other in a relaxed, easygoing environment. Karaoke will be happening throughout the night, so if you feel like jumping in, go for it. If not, sit back, enjoy the show, and be part of the vibe. This is a great event if you’re newer to the group or just want something more low-key and social. *** 🌙 Vibe & Expectations This is a chill, welcoming night — not a performance, not a competition. It’s about: ✔️ Meeting new people ✔️ Having real conversations ✔️ Letting loose a little No pressure, no awkward setups — just a solid hang with good people, food, and something happening in the background. *** 🧢 Meetup Details 📍 Meetup Location: Outside Taps Bar & Grill 🫎 I’ll be wearing my Moose Hat ⏰ Meetup Time: 8:30 PM I will only wait 5 minutes before heading inside, so try to be on time. 🎤 Karaoke Time: 9:30PM 🍔🍺 Part of the night is supporting the space we’re in — plan to grab at least one drink or appetizer to help keep places like this welcoming for our group *** 🎟️ Meetup Fee: $5 cash in person or e-transfer to Members who have not been to my event, have to send the e-transfer as soon as they sign up. 📧 **mathewmaclean@hotmail.com** Please note: Food and drinks are separate and paid individually. 🏙️🚶 OLD CABBAGETOWN, REGENT PARK & DISTILLERY DISTRICT WALK (9KM) 🚶🏙️
🏙️🚶 OLD CABBAGETOWN, REGENT PARK & DISTILLERY DISTRICT WALK (9KM) 🚶🏙️ Historic Streets, City Contrasts & A Distillery District Finish Some walks show you just how many different versions of Toronto can exist within a few kilometres. Join us for a social city walk through some of Toronto’s most layered and contrasting neighbourhoods — from the storybook streets of Cabbagetown, to the revitalized energy of Regent Park, ending in the iconic Distillery District. Cabbagetown is known for having one of the largest collections of Victorian homes in North America — quiet, tree-lined streets that feel almost frozen in time. From there, we’ll move into Regent Park, where old Toronto meets new in one of the city’s most significant redevelopments. We’ll finish in the Distillery District, once home to the largest distillery in the world, now a vibrant pedestrian area full of brick buildings, art, and atmosphere. This is not a formal historical tour. It’s a social walk with light storytelling, good energy, and lots to take in along the way. 👉 **Don’t forget to join our WhatsApp group** – [CLICK HERE!](https://chat.whatsapp.com/H59mSCbsAi018gYANrKAnc?mode=ac_t) \*\*\* 🚶‍♂️ What We’ll Do We’ll meet outside the subway station and begin our walk into Cabbagetown, wandering through its charming residential streets before making our way toward Regent Park. As we move through the neighbourhood, you’ll see the blend of old and new Toronto — community spaces, modern builds, and the evolution of the area. From there, we’ll continue south toward the Distillery District, where the walk wraps up. You’re free to explore, grab a drink, or head out whenever you like. Please note: there will be some stairs along the route. \*\*\* 🌦️ Weather & Expectations This walk will happen in typical April weather — which means anything from sun to light rain. As long as it’s not extreme conditions or heavy downpour, we’ll be going ahead. Be prepared and dress accordingly. Comfortable shoes are important, and layers are always a good idea. Also — this is NOT a guided or formal historical tour. I’ll share context casually, but the focus is on being social and enjoying the walk. \*\*\* 🧢 Meetup Details 📍 Meetup Location: Outside the subway station 🫎 I’ll be wearing my Moose Hat ⏰ Meetup Time: 11:00 AM I will only wait 5 minutes. Humanist Program
The Humanist Monthly Program is our longest running event and still a community favorite. In the old days it used to be called "Going to HCCO" and we still like to think of it as our flagship event. We will be hearing from Becca Powell, Director of Advocacy and Outreach at Unchained At Last, an organization whose mission is dedication to ending forced and child marriage in the United States through direct services and systems change. Unchained At Last's mission clearly meshes and addresses several of our Humanist Ten Commitments. Becca will educate us about an issue many of us may not be familiar with--but should be. Food and drinks will be provided at the event. Feel free to show up a little bit early to hang out and talk. Going forward our meetings will be hybrid. This session introduces Squad: an open-source framework for multi-agent orchestration that lets you define teams of AI agents with specific roles, responsibilities, and expertise. We'll progress from Copilot basics to the Copilot CLI, explore how Agents add autonomy, and see how Instructions and Skills let you customize agent behavior. Then, the climax: a live demo where a Squad team of 3 agents (Lead, Developer, Tester) stands up and builds a working application in real-time, showcasing true multi-agent collaboration. Whether you're new to AI or exploring how to scale your use of Copilot, this session will show you what's possible when agents work as a team. **YouTube Link** TBD
