Monday Board Games at The Plough
Our smaller group playing light to medium weight modern board games. Bring your own games if possible but some games will be there.
Monday games (beginner friendly)
Come and play board games! Join us for tabletop board and card games such as Just One, Colt Express, Saboteur, Potion Explosion and Wingspan.
Monday nights are aimed at welcoming players who are new to modern board games. We always try to make sure that someone is happy to teach games and welcome new people on the night, so don't worry if you're not sure what to play or who to sit with.
We don't charge a fee for attending the Meetup, but you will need to pay the venue's game session fee of ÂŁ8 per person (unless you have a Gold or VIP [Ludoquist membership](https://www.theludoquist.com/collections/membership-2022)).
Please arrive by 18:50 in time for everyone to get into groups for the main games to start at 19:00.
We will start arriving from 18:30 if anyone wants to join early for short games and chat.
All attendees are expected to read and follow [our Code of Conduct](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1qnLRLEV6whNYpiBu1mqsBaI6CjhbsC6Ersgwj0BCMSg/edit?usp=share_link) and [our Meetup Rules](https://docs.google.com/document/d/1QorSIT3I3YA70ClL825cpMlHWWehpiVrrisy_J6zjFE/edit?usp=share_link).
Please remember to update your RSVP promptly if you can't make it and please don't attend unless you are confirmed as attending.
Feel free to ask questions in the event comments, or direct message one of the hosts.
You're also invited to [join our Discord server](https://discord.gg/rWh8aSA) for game related chat and for arranging games outside the Meetup events.
Board, card & dice games night at my place or The George (depending on numbers)
Hi everyone!
(pre-pandemic information)
If you like to play modern board, card and dice games, and to meet new people, then join us on Monday evenings from 6pm until the pub closes around 11pm.
Feel free to bring your own games if you have them, but don't worry if you don't as regular members will bring some along. And of course, we'll teach you how to play them if you don't know already.
You work late? No worries - you can join us any time before closing (11pm), so if you don't arrive at 6pm (attendees tend to arrive around 6:30 or 7pm), don't worry :-) Everyone comes and goes when they like, so it is possible that you may be the first to arrive or the last to leave,
Please write in the comments what time you expect to arrive at the pub, so we can try to avoid anyone having to wait alone for long.
We are a relaxed and friendly group, made up of both natives and foreigners, of locals and those living further afield, happy to welcome newbies and regulars.
Events are free to attend, but it is respectable to the public venues we hold them at if you can buy at least one drink or some food while you are present, just like anyone else at the pub would do.
If you would like to contribute towards the costs of running of this group, feel free to buy the host(s) a drink of their choice when you see them, for which they'd be very grateful. This saves money that can be put towards the Meetup subscription fees and buying the games that we all play.
The George is a reasonably-priced 'local' pub in the Docklands, near Canary Wharf, just 1 minute walk from Crossharbour DLR station, or about 15 minutes walk from the Canary Wharf Jubilee line station. Various TFL buses stop nearby.
Don't forget to join our group on Facebook for games news, articles, memes, gossip and banter: https://www.facebook.com/groups/Tabletop.Gamers.London.Docklands/

Weekly Gaming at the Bedford
Welcome to the world of board gaming, if youâve been before you know the score! If itâs your first time, please remember to read the description and rules, we donât have many but there are some.
We are a group of people who like to play (or learn) modern board games. From the highly technical to the simplest of games, from the seasoned gamer to the first timer, all are welcome. We cater for nearly all modern games as per our rules. We would be delighted if you wanted to join us, please don't fret if there is a long waitlist, this tends to disappear a day or two before the event, sometimes even on the day, so keep an eye out. Come have a drink, meet like minded friendly people and let the battles commence.
If you have a game you would like to play, please mention it in the comments and see if others would like to join you. You can join one of the other games mentioned there already or even request that someone brings a game that you would really like to play. If you do bring a game, it would be great if you could teach it, but someone else might know it. If you donât know the rules to any of the games being played, donât worry too much, there are some great teachers here and theyâll let you know the rules to any game theyâre playing.
It would be best if you could be here by the start time, but if you canât you could always let people know and they might wait for you to arrive before playing. Otherwise, you might have to wait for people to finish playing before you can join in another game.
If you are new, please look for the person in the hi-vis jacket, or ask for one of the hosts, Rocky, Dori, Michele, Rafa or Rakshita and we will make sure you get into a game that suits you and your gaming level.
Please abide by the rules and mostly, have fun!
Friday Strategy Board Games at the Coat and Badge, Putney
Strategy Board Games at the The Coat and Badge, Putney.
**Is this event for you?**
If you have been to a few WLGC events, or are used to playing modern board games with a significant amount of rules, then this event is for you.
If not, please join us at our "Beginner Friendly" event every other week.
This is an event to play Strategy games which range from medium to heavy in complexity and last 2-4 hours, depending on the game. It can take about 15-30min to teach, again depending on the complexity of the game.
I usually advertise which game I am going to bring a few days in advance, as it can be helpful to at least be familiar with the rules. Other gamers may bring another selection of games, so be prepared to be surprised on the day.
Here are more details specifically about the Putney events:
Weâre a friendly, social group that regularly play a range of board games and card games. This event has been running since June 2022 and we have a core group of regular gamers but welcome new members who are looking for a games group to play on a regular or fairly regular basis.
Games we play range from, 30min - 1hour games, to the heavier 2-3hour games. We alternate the weeks we play shorter games versus the longer strategy games (check the event title for which type of games are being played).
Quicker, fun, social games we play:
⢠Just One
https://youtu.be/0DDRxztfJP0?si=QPavmMFE3DFipM-x
⢠Skull King
https://youtu.be/xlFHfCqY-5Y?si=X-U1WLP5JOI0oTcB
⢠Planted
https://youtu.be/BB5mwXFPrUA?si=oLor8WTSpLUs7B12
⢠Project L
https://youtu.be/EFV-qavWUlE?si=41_XhoZQvWs_9Zp2
⢠7 Wonders
https://youtu.be/z_Wfdn5Es8U?si=-L3cLo2Uppdip2ow
Longer, Strategy games we play:
⢠Lost Ruins of Arnak
https://youtu.be/Kg2z4ApABY8?si=l46LNYRjQA_0QoZS
⢠Terraforming Mars
https://youtu.be/n3yVpsiVwL8?si=SW7VCdJpnqErKlIO
We like to start on time but if you do arrive late, donât worry, it may mean you have to wait a bit until the next game starts, but we always try to accommodate where we can. If it's Strategy games night, it is more important that we start on time as the games are longer and we want to finish on time.
If you know you are going to be late please just let us know your eta.
The event is free but please keep in mind that in order to have the space and run the event on a regular basis we need to purchase drinks/food from the venue.
Also, please donât sign up and not show up. Not only do you take up a spot for someone keen to play games but we have limited space that we need to reserve with the venue and no-shows jeopardise our relationship with the venue. Thanks for your understanding.
Hope to see you at a games table!!

Frostgrave! - Campaign Games
*Chapter VI: Into the Mist*
*Your skin shines with moisture as you break into the band of cloud that has hung defiantly above you as you climbed the great stairway. Near-blinded by the mist, a sudden darkening of your surroundings is the only indicator that you have passed the gateway into the Upper City.*
*You press on, your frustration building as yet another dead end emerges from the fog. You turn, fuming, only to see your damned apprentice has gone, along with half your followers, lost in the mist. Despite yourself you shout for your lost followers, only to be answered by inhuman howls...*
The snows are beginning to recede, revealing the shattered ruins of **Frostgrave** â a once-great city of wizard-kings, buried for centuries beneath ice and legend.
Now rival sorcerers return, leading warbands into the frozen streets in search of lost spells, ancient artefacts, and forgotten power.
This series is **a beginner-friendly Frostgrave Campaign running through this spring**. New joiners are more than welcome!
Players will begin with a **Level 0 wizard and a 400gc warband**, venturing into the ruins to gather treasure, gain experience, and grow in power as the campaign unfolds.
Most games during the campaign will be played as **multiplayer (3-4 player free-for-all) matches**, creating plenty of opportunities for **XP, gold, and some secret campaign bonuses**.
Expect spellcasting, treasure hunting, wandering monsters, and plenty of wizard duels among the ruins.
**New players are very welcome.**
If youâve never played Frostgrave before, this event is the perfect place to start. Spare warbands and guidance will be available for anyone trying the game for the first time.

Casual Boardgames - make friends, then beat them in games
Welcome to Casual Boardgames, where we enjoy classic tabletop games and social deduction games while bonding over good food, drinks, and great conversations.
âŠWe started this group to meet new people and make new friends, and bonding over games in a relaxed atmosphere is a great way to do that.
We currently meet near route 23 and Polaris Parkway, and this is close to areas like Powell, Lewis Center, Worthington, and parts of Westerville and Columbus.
âŠFeel free to bring your own games or play one of the many games our members bring. If you are inexperienced, we will help you learn.
âŠHere are just a few examples of the kind of games we play.
âŠTabletop/board games: Splendor, Catan, Azul, Dominion, 7 WondersâŚ
âŠSocial deduction games: Code Names, Chameleon, WerewordsâŚ
âŠIMPORTANT:
âŠ1. While we love playing a variety of games and competing, we are not just about the games. We interact and talk while playing, and this leads to a lot of laughter and fun. If you just want to compete and focus solely on the game, then this is probably not the group you are looking for.
âŠ2. Many people join groups like this and never (or rarely) show up after weeks or months. If you join and never really come, we will eventually remove you from the group as a courtesy to our members. Why? Because limiting group conversations (on the app) to regular members makes communication and planning much easier. Also, while it may be rare, it protects members from people who join because they are interested in following a person instead of having a real interest in our group. If you get removed, it is just because you havenât come, and we follow this protocol as a courtesy to our regular game players.
