This event will be held in the Ballroom, more room for everyone. Welcome to the world of board gaming, if you’ve been before you know the score! If it’s your first time, please remember to read the description and rules, we don’t have many but there are some. We are a group of people who like to play (or learn) modern board games. From the highly technical to the simplest of games, from the seasoned gamer to the first timer, all are welcome. We cater for nearly all modern games as per our rules. We would be delighted if you wanted to join us, please don't fret if there is a long waitlist, this tends to disappear a day or two before the event, sometimes even on the day, so keep an eye out. Come have a drink, meet like minded friendly people and let the battles commence. If you have a game you would like to play, please mention it in the comments and see if others would like to join you. You can join one of the other games mentioned there already or even request that someone brings a game that you would really like to play. If you do bring a game, it would be great if you could teach it, but someone else might know it. If you don’t know the rules to any of the games being played, don’t worry too much, there are some great teachers here and they’ll let you know the rules to any game they’re playing. It would be best if you could be here by the start time, but if you can’t you could always let people know and they might wait for you to arrive before playing. Otherwise, you might have to wait for people to finish playing before you can join in another game. If you are new, please look for the person in the hi-vis jacket, or ask for one of the hosts, Rocky, Dori, Michele, Rafa or Rakshita and we will make sure you get into a game that suits you and your gaming level. Please abide by the rules and mostly, have fun!

Come and play board games! We play all types of games on a Wednesday night, ranging from social deduction and lighter games to heavy euros and complex strategy titles. Beginners are very welcome, we'd love to see you! We'll always welcome you on the night and make sure we get you into a game, and we have plenty of players on hand happy to teach the rules to different games - so don't worry if you're not sure what to play or who to sit with. Many attendees just come to hang out, rummage through the bits box or paint models with new and old friends. We're part of the Safe Space Alliance and offer a welcoming space to all genders, LGBTQ+ and people of colour. Hi everyone! (pre-pandemic information) If you like to play modern board, card and dice games, and to meet new people, then join us every Wednesday evening, for as long as you like between the hours of 6pm and 11pm (when the pub closes). Feel free to bring your own games if you have them, but don't worry if you don't as there are plenty that live at the pub, and plenty more that regular members bring along. And of course, we'll teach you how to play them if you don't know already. You work late? No worries - you can come along any time before closing (11pm), so if you don't arrive at 7pm (when attendees trickle in), don't worry! Everyone comes and goes whenever they like, so it is possible that you may be the first to arrive or last to leave. Please write in the comments what time you expect to arrive at the pub, so we can try to avoid anyone having to wait alone for long. We are a relaxed and friendly group, made up of both natives and foreigners, of locals and those living further afield, happy to welcome newbies and regulars.
