* **No judgment.** Except about pineapple on pizza. That's fair game.
* **Have fun.** That's literally it.
**Examples of questions that we provide:**
* "What's the correct way to make a cup of tea?" โ
* "If animals could talk, which one would be the rudest?"
* "Beans on toast: proper meal or a cry for help?"
* "You're in charge of adding one new bank holiday. What's it for?"
* "North London or South London? Explain why."
**Why are we doing this?**
* Why not?
* Just an experiment albeit a social one
* You'll feel **uplifted**, **inspired**, and **connected**.

Let's Discuss... When should we start a revolution?
In every society there will come a time when the conditions of life are no longer acceptable for people to tolerate. Maybe your government hasn't listened to the people's requests year after year, and small problems have become big ones. Maybe your government is corrupt, selling its people out for any bribe it can get. Maybe the streets are unsafe, the food is scarce, and the future looks darker than the present. At what point does revolution become necessary?
When should we rise up and start a revolution?
Can a government ever be so bad that any alternative is better?
Should revolution be a last resort? and how do we know when we have reached the last resort?
Can violence ever be justified in the pursuit of a better society?

The Right to Privacy - Philosophy Talk
*Is privacy a fundamental human right?*
*Should privacy ever be sacrificed for security?*
*How does surveillance change how we behave?*
*Is privacy necessary for democracy?*
This time we will be discussing the **right to privacy** in the relative privacy of an upstairs room of a North London pub! No walk this time (due to a broken toe)! Instead we will head indoors and experiment with a different format - a talk and discussion session. Meet at 2pm at the Star of Kings pub in King's Cross, upstairs in the green room.
If you want to do some reading on the subject I recommend **The Right to Oblivion** by Lowry Pressly:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Right-Oblivion-Privacy-Good-Life/dp/067430490X
A YouTube video on the same book by Unsolicited Advice.

If you have any other recommendations on the subject feel free to post in the commends below.
There will be a short presentation then group discussions. This group encourages friendly, constructive conversations rather than confrontational debates; so give everyone space to talk, be respectful and actively listen to others. It's not about 'winning' a debate but about expressing your opinion and learning about other people's views.
Admission ยฃ5, if you are a student, unemployed or retired then you can attend for free. You can pay in cash or card on the walk or online with this link:

Walk & Talk About Life's Big Questions
If you crave depth and genuine connection, join a walking think tank of curious people, topics spark meaningful conversations, and you leave inspired.
## Details
[The Board Walks](http://www.theboardwalks.com/) are for curious people who love deep conversations.
If that sounds like you, **bring a thoughtful topic** and join us for a 5-mile walk (10,000+ steps!).
**HOW IT WORKS**
**Step 1: Bring a topic**
Before you arrive, think of **one** topic you want to explore. A question. A thought that's been on your mind. An obsession you want to geek out on. This is your ticket to the event.
**Step 2: Circle up & share**
We gather in a circle. Your friendly walk host gives a speech to set the tone. Everyone shares: your name, what you're grateful for, and your topic. That's it. 60 seconds.
**Step 3: Walk, talk & float**
We walk 5 miles. You naturally drift into conversation with 2-3 people at a time, pulled by topics that spark your curiosity. When you're ready to move on, just say: "I'm going to float!"
**Step 4: Feel more alive**
Two hours flies by. You're back where you started โ but you feel different. More alive. More energized. More connected to yourself and others. That's why regulars join 20+ times.
*For more details, read our [Orientation Guide.](https://www.theboardwalks.com/orientation)*
**HOW TO BRING A GREAT TOPIC**
A great topic = something you're genuinely curious about.
Recent topics include:
* "What are you passionate about right now?"
* "What makes a good friend?"
* "What's a belief you used to hold that you've completely changed?"
* "How do you want to be remembered?"
* "What would you do if money wasn't a factor?"
Think of your topic like the dish you're bringing to our conversational potluck. If everyone brings an A+ dish (i.e. energizing, uplifting, expansive), we'll all walk away feeling lighter and brighter.
**WHAT TO EXPECT**
This isn't a fitness event with casual chitchat. It's a walking think tank where we explore life's big questions together, beyond small talk. *If you're looking for light banter or a standard networking event, this probably isn't the right fit.*
But if you crave depth, genuine connection, and conversations that make you feel alive? You'll love it here.
**FAQ**
* Wear casual athletic attire and sneakers. It's a long walk!
* We have multiple first-timers at each event. We work hard to create a welcoming, inclusive, clique-free space.
* We welcome people of **all** ages, backgrounds, and industries who align with the [intention](https://www.theboardwalks.com/ground-rules) of this space.
* Rain or shine, we've been out here nearly every week since July 2022. If the event is cancelled, we'll let you know.
* Dogs, babies in strollers, parents, and friends are welcome โ please text/email them the event link so they can RSVP and prepare a topic!
**LOGISTICS**
* If you'll arrive over 10 minutes late, we suggest skipping the event. It's hard to find us once we start walking, and your host can't answer messages during the event.
* This walk is designed for everyone to *move together at the same steady pace* (about 20 min/mile). This format works best when the whole group moves in unison. If you have mobility limitations, we kindly encourage you to find an event better suited to your needs.
* Read our [Orientation Guide](https://www.theboardwalks.com/orientation) for full details.
* If you enjoy the event, send **[this](http://www.theboardwalks.com/)** to a friend or sign up for our **[newsletter](https://theboardwalks.beehiiv.com/)**. We're in multiple cities with more on the way. ๐ค ๐
**IF YOU WANT TO GO DEEPER...**
[The Board](https://stan.store/ellebeecher/p/the-board) is the next step: a high-trust collective for renaissance people devoted to creating, connecting, and building lives that light us up.
* This is a global HQ for people who crave big talk, deep connection, and dream collaborations with people across industries. If the walks feel like a spark... The Board is the fire. Apply [here](https://stan.store/ellebeecher/p/the-board).
Make New Friends At A Bookshop
Do you want to meet new people in a relaxing chill atmosphere surrounded by new books? Do you dislike loud and smelly places like pubs and clubs? This is the event for you.
Science and Philosophy Book Club is creating a new kind of meetup where people who love books and knowledge can meet new friends in a big book shop. We will explore around different sections of the book shop together as a group while making interesting conversations with each other. We will go to both fiction and non-fiction areas.
If you feel shy and feel nervous to come alone, I will make sure you will feel comfortable and accomodate to your needs. I will help introduce you to others so you can go over the barrier of anxiety when approaching a new person.
We will meet on the ground floor lounge area of Doubletree Hilton Hotel at 6 p.m. It is an amazing cosy bar with classy vibes. We will wait for everyone to show up while getting some drinks and socializing. At 7 p.m we will head to the Waterstones book store near Russel Square and UCL. After we explore the book store, we will come back to the hotel bar and stay there for the rest of the night.
This event requires ยฃ5 donation to cover the venue fees. You can pay via cash or card. Thank you for helping the book club!

Summer Social: Let's kick off summer with Adult field day at Shadybowl!
Weโre bringing back Adult Field Day.
Last year was a good mix of competition and just hanging out, so weโre doing it again with some new games mixed in. Think team-based challenges, simple races, and a few things inspired by game shows.
You donโt need to be athletic. Most of the fun is just being part of a team and getting to know people you wouldnโt normally talk to.
The goal isnโt really winning. Itโs meeting people, laughing a bit, and leaving knowing a few more names than when you showed up.
If you stick around after, weโll have a potluck, a bonfire, and a couple comedians in the evening.
Bring:
* Something to share for the potluck
* Clothes you can move around in
A small contribution helps keep events sustainable and ensures those who RSVP actually show up. Include your Meetup name + event name in the note. Please send $2 per person to guarantee your spot.

How to Be a Better Communicator - Free In-Person Seminar
Communication is everything in life
You are only as successful as your ability to communicate.
\- What if you could confidently talk to anyone?
\- What if you had the ability to calmly control every conversation?
\- What if you could close that sale\, ask for that date\, make new friends\, repair problematic relationships\, get that raise\, or effortlessly express any idea with confidence?
You can!
The secret to success relies on your ability or inability to effectively communicate. Attend a free seminar and gain a better ability to communicate.

Walk & Talk About Life's Big Questions
