🍕✨ Topolino’s Singles Pizza Night + St Kilda After‑Dark Adventure✨🍕
🍕✨ Topolino’s Singles Pizza Night + St Kilda After‑Dark Adventure✨🍕
🍕 **Topolino’s** **Singles Pizza Night** + **St** **Kilda** **After**‑**Dark** **Adventure** **Date**: Saturday 27 June **Time**: 6pm to 8pm (Pizza), optional nightlife voyage until late **Ages** 35–55 | Singles only | No married or seperated people | New couples maybe… if they’re very new **Cost**: $0 Lucky you. It's an experiment so I'm looking for beta testers 😀 Pizza and Drinks are on you. **Numbers**: 12 people, maybe more, depends on flaky people and no shows of course **Menu: [https://www.topolinos.com.au/](https://www.topolinos.com.au/)** **👉@@@@@ Event Update - Meeting Point** Hi everyone, I've added a photo of our initial meeting point, it's at the 5th province Irish bar, right next to the St.Kilda tram stop. In the allley way next to the whiskey bar and the "Verandah". I'll be the tall guy wearing a red Santa cap, it's winter right? We can have a quick drink at the bar to settle our nerves but I need to organise a sneaky way to grab a pizza with such a large number of people. So we need two groups. Please arrive before 6pm or thereabouts, it's hard to check my phone for messages during an event for late people etc. I'll wait outside until around 6.15 **Location**: [https://maps.app.goo.gl/N3VfkNvUEEFdYxWJ6](https://maps.app.goo.gl/N3VfkNvUEEFdYxWJ6) 💫 **The** **Vibe** Think of this as a lightly flirty, gently mischievous IRL dating night — the kind where the pizza is hot, the banter is warm, and the chemistry is… well, that’s up to you. **Note**: This will be a light curated event, I won't pre organise anything so it will be a highly organic adventure, Expect some minor chaos. If Topolinos is busy we'll try another venue. Topolinos has a max of 12 people anyway without paying a ridiculous booking fee. But damn it's bloody good pizza. But if enough people are interested I'm sure we can sneakily get in a larger group if we split ourselves up and accidentally coalesce lol. I prefer doing things this way anyway and leaving some things to chance....serendipity is my middle name of course! **#####** **Just so you know** ================= Saying that I do have some basic rules to govern how this event operates, Curated chaos anyone???. **Note:** This event is waitlisted to allow an even mix of genders, there is a creep code and rules especially around no shows. Read on for how this works. Decisions are made at the discretion of the organiser. We’re taking over Topolino’s Pizza on Fitzroy Street, St Kilda’s iconic pre‑nightlife launchpad, for a cosy two‑hour dinner with 12 singles who know how to talk, laugh, and maybe flirt over a slice. Singles only. No married people. New couples allowed only if they still have that “are we… something?” energy. 🍕 6pm–8pm — Topolino’s Pizza Social A relaxed, social dinner with 12 self hand‑picked singles Flirty but friendly, cheeky but respectful Perfect for people who prefer IRL slow‑dating over app fatigue Expect conversation that flows easier than the house red Dress warm — it’s winter, but the vibe won’t be Waitlist is active to keep gender proportions balanced. Regulars get preference (you know who you are). Organiser discretion applies — always. **🙀🌙 8pm onwards —Choose** **Your** **Own** **St Kilda** **Adventure** For those who want to keep the night rolling, we’ll drift down Fitzroy Street like a charmingly disorganised flotilla of hopeful romantics. Possible ports of call: **The** **Espy** — iconic, loud, social, perfect for “accidental” shoulder brushes **The** **Vineyard** — mellow, intimate, ideal for deeper chats **Dogs** **Bar** — artsy, dimly lit, excellent for eye contact **Prince** **Bandroom** — for the brave, the nostalgic, and the 90s‑alt tragics (cover charge applies) Stay for one drink, stay for five, or stay until someone suggests karaoke — the night is yours. 💘 **Flirtation** **Guidelines** This is a social event, not a pressure cooker.Don’t be pushy about phone numbers — let the moment offer itself If the vibe is mutual, go for it Become a regular — I’ll be testing this format over 3–4 events You’ll likely see the same lovely humans again at future singles nights/events or Eat Drink Dance “open” events The goal is to build a small, recurring ecosystem where people feel comfortable, familiar, and relaxed enough to be themselves. **👥Waitlist & Gender Ratios** To keep things balanced and comfortable: Event capped at max 12 people to test interest unless I decide to be sneaky, Generally guys admitted only after a woman registers (to maintain ratios) at my discretion until the format matures. If you become a regular I'm not so discriminating as long as you behave yourself. Women can be a little flaky (we love them anyway), so I may accept 1–2 extra **🧭The Creep Code** **A** refined social compass keeps the vibe safe, fun, and drama‑free. So: No married or seperated individuals or those already coupled up (generally) No Tinder Swindler‑style minglers **Guys**: **Please** **Take** **Special** **Note** Must have a clear face photo (no sunglasses, no blurry shadows, no “mysterious man in witness protection”) No wide shots taken from a distance where you can't be identified. No yacht/car/jet flexing — if your profile screams “crypto‑adjacent”, you will be gently declined. If you are declined, update your profile photo to something less creepy and more classy. **Girls**: No restrictions — privacy and safety first” ⚠️ **SMALL EVENT EXPECTATIONS ⚠️** **👻** **No**‑**Shows** No‑shows block waitlisted people from attending and disrupt small-group events. Remove yourself at least 24 hours before the event. No‑shows will likely be removed and blocked from the group. Last‑minute cancellations (“flaking”) may also result in group removal, especially when there is a waitlist. 👀 **Attending** **Without** **Being** **on** **the** **Going** **List** This is a security issue. **Do** **NOT** **turn** **up** **unannounced**. If you’re not on the Going list and haven’t arranged it with the organiser beforehand, you will be asked to leave. Event check‑ins are performed. **🌱Why** **This** **Event** **Exists** A few people have asked me to run something for singles, and Meetup is already full of solo attendees. Dating apps feel like a minefield, and IRL conversations tend to be and are rare and sometimes awkward. So this is an experiment — a soft‑launch into a more human, more organic way of meeting people for singles..

Dinner @ Kiss & Tell
Dinner @ Kiss & Tell
Let's go for Vietnamese fusion. The chef's banquet is pretty affordable at $65pp. It sounds pretty vague but the [MENU](https://www.kissandtell.melbourne/_files/ugd/4b3238_5e327b31ee6d4e06997d4507cbf5604d.pdf) looks good and they state that they curate the banquet depending on what the table want/likes. So it does sound like we would have to put some thought into it and make some decisions. If there's less than 6 of us on the night, we can do the tasting selection which is even cheaper at $55pp. As usual a $20 deposit will be required to secure your spot. this will be returned to you on the night (subtracted from your total), or refunded if you change your RSVP with at least two days notice. See you there! Priscila

Haruki Murakami, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, & Creative Writing
Haruki Murakami, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, & Creative Writing
Welcome to the Melbourne Sci-Fi & Fantasy Meetup's first gathering for magic realism and creative writing! If you've read or are new to Haruki Murakami, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Susanna Clarke, please come along. And for writers, this is also a space to talk about the craft of writing (any genre, fiction and non-fiction). I hope to make this a regular monthly or fortnightly event at other locations around Melbourne when the weather is warmer. But it's winter, so we'll have our first meetup at the Mitre Tavern in the CBD. Easy to find, and we don't have to wait outside in the icy wind waiting for tables. Join us for a coffee or glass of wine that stops time, cats with secret names, and good conversation about the books we love. After the event, we can kick on at the Mitre or maybe stroll over to a nearby wine bar or restaurant to continue the socialising. What to Bring: Paper, pen, and a story to share. I'll be giving you all some small, fun writing exercises and we'll see where the day takes us.

Data & Analytics Wednesday - Learning from Everyday Data
Data & Analytics Wednesday - Learning from Everyday Data
**Practical Curiosity: Learning from Everyday Data** How do we actually get better at utilizing our day-to-day data? Fancy dashboards and complex models might look nice and draw attention, but that’s not where most of us spend our time. In fact those shiny outputs frequently sit unused, while the real insights are drawn from the analyst’s daily practice. Sometimes it’s as simple and as powerful as noticing that a segment is shrinking, a channel is underused, or certain links keep getting all the clicks. There’s many different places that the spark of insight can come from, but you have to keep your head in the data and know where to look. In this session, we’ll explore real-world examples of how segmentation, testing, and click behavior can uncover practical digital marketing opportunities. You’ll leave with inspiration for your own use cases, along with a few simple ways to ask better questions, spot meaningful patterns, and make smarter decisions without overcomplicating it. **About Our Speaker:** [Elaine Armbruster](https://www.linkedin.com/in/elainearmbruster/) is a Director of Digital Experience at the [American Diabetes Association](https://diabetes.org/), where she focuses on using data and insights to create smarter, more effective digital experiences. A lifelong Columbus resident, she has built her career in email marketing and the broader digital user journey, and is finding she most enjoys working in the messy middle where systems, data, and big ideas don’t quite line up yet. The Bi-Weekly Board Game Extravaganza!
Walk & Talk About Life's Big Questions
Walk & Talk About Life's Big Questions
[The Board Walks](http://www.theboardwalks.com/) are for curious people who love deep conversations. If that sounds like you, **bring a thoughtful topic** and join us for a 5-mile walk (10,000+ steps!). **HOW IT WORKS** **Step 1: Bring a topic** Before you arrive, think of **one** topic you want to explore. A question. A thought that's been on your mind. An obsession you want to geek out on. This is your ticket to the event. **Step 2: Circle up & share** We gather in a circle. Your friendly walk host gives a speech to set the tone. Everyone shares: your name, what you're grateful for, and your topic. That's it. 60 seconds. **Step 3: Walk, talk & float** We walk 5 miles. You naturally drift into conversation with 2-3 people at a time, pulled by topics that spark your curiosity. When you're ready to move on, just say: "I'm going to float!" **Step 4: Feel more alive** Two hours flies by. You're back where you started — but you feel different. More alive. More energized. More connected to yourself and others. That's why regulars join 20+ times. *For more details, read our [Orientation Guide.](https://www.theboardwalks.com/orientation)* **HOW TO BRING A GREAT TOPIC** A great topic = something you're genuinely curious about. Recent topics include: * "What are you passionate about right now?" * "What makes a good friend?" * "What's a belief you used to hold that you've completely changed?" * "How do you want to be remembered?" * "What would you do if money wasn't a factor?" Think of your topic like the dish you're bringing to our conversational potluck. If everyone brings an A+ dish (i.e. energizing, uplifting, expansive), we'll all walk away feeling lighter and brighter. **WHAT TO EXPECT** This isn't a fitness event with casual chitchat. It's a walking think tank where we explore life's big questions together, beyond small talk. *If you're looking for light banter or a standard networking event, this probably isn't the right fit.* But if you crave depth, genuine connection, and conversations that make you feel alive? You'll love it here. **FAQ** * Wear casual athletic attire and sneakers. It's a long walk! * We have multiple first-timers at each event. We work hard to create a welcoming, inclusive, clique-free space. * We welcome people of **all** ages, backgrounds, and industries who align with the [intention](https://www.theboardwalks.com/ground-rules) of this space. * Rain or shine, we've been out here nearly every week since July 2022. If the event is cancelled, we'll let you know. * Dogs, babies in strollers, parents, and friends are welcome — please text/email them the event link so they can RSVP and prepare a topic! **LOGISTICS** * If you'll arrive over 10 minutes late, we suggest skipping the event. It's hard to find us once we start walking, and your host can't answer messages during the event. * This walk is designed for everyone to *move together at the same steady pace* (about 20 min/mile). This format works best when the whole group moves in unison. If you have mobility limitations, we kindly encourage you to find an event better suited to your needs. * Read our [Orientation Guide](https://www.theboardwalks.com/orientation) for full details. * If you enjoy the event, send **[this](http://www.theboardwalks.com/)** to a friend or sign up for our **[newsletter](https://theboardwalks.beehiiv.com/)**. We're in multiple cities with more on the way. 🤠👋 **IF YOU WANT TO GO DEEPER...** [The Board](https://stan.store/ellebeecher/p/the-board) is the next step: a high-trust collective for renaissance people devoted to creating, connecting, and building lives that light us up. * This is a global HQ for people who crave big talk, deep connection, and dream collaborations with people across industries. If the walks feel like a spark... The Board is the fire. Apply [here](https://stan.store/ellebeecher/p/the-board).
