Mama Cacao showcase Celebration
Mama Cacao showcase Celebration
We are delighted to welcome you to the second year of the **Mama Cacao Showcase**, a series of intimate gatherings where music, cacao, movement, and community come together in the heart of nature. These evenings are created as a space to celebrate presence, creativity, and connection. Under the open sky and surrounded by the quiet beauty of the forest, we gather to share ceremonial cacao and experience a carefully curated musical journey. Each edition of the Showcase features a **special guest artist**, making every gathering unique. Together with Jkson, our guest will guide us through a night of sound, rhythm, and movement—an invitation to open the heart, awaken the body, and celebrate the joy of being alive. This is more than a performance; it is a shared experience where music becomes a bridge between inner reflection and collective celebration. ## The Journey **Cacao Ceremony** We begin by opening the circle with the sacred medicine of Mama Cacao, brought from the lands of Peru. This ancient plant has been used for centuries to support connection, presence, and heartfelt communication. **Music & Ecstatic Dance Journey** Together with a special guest artist, Jkson will guide the musical journey of the evening. This part of the gathering invites free movement and authentic expression. There are no steps and no expectations—only space to listen to your body and move in your own rhythm. **Closing Circle** We end the evening in a moment of gratitude and sharing, allowing space to integrate the experience and connect with the community. ## Event Details Dates: 27.06.26 25.07.26 29.08.26 Doors open: 20:00 Ceremony starts: 21:00 (please arrive earlier to settle in) Duration: approximately 2 hours Location: Nature space in Zürich Kaferberg **The exact location will be shared on the day of the event through our community groups.** **Contribution: Donation-based gathering** **Limited to 30 participants** ## What to Bring * Water to stay hydrated * * A small offering for the cacao spirits (flowers, seeds, fruits, etc.) * * Comfortable clothing suitable for movement We recommend fasting at least two hours before the ceremony to deepen your connection with cacao ## Health Note If you are pregnant, taking antidepressants, or have medical conditions such as epilepsy, high blood pressure, or heart conditions, please contact us beforehand for guidance. ## About the Music Jkson is an Argentinian musician, producer, and ceremonial guide with deep roots in the native cultures of the Andes and the Peruvian Amazon. His musical journeys weave together ancestral voices, organic textures, and electronic soundscapes, creating immersive experiences that move between healing atmospheres, downtempo rhythms, and deep dance journeys. Explore Jkson’s work: [www.jksonmusic.com](http://www.jksonmusic.com) ## Exchange Information This is a non-profit gathering supported by donations. Batik Tulis Workshop – Wax & Dye Textile Art (Zurich)
Batik Tulis Workshop – Wax & Dye Textile Art (Zurich)
**Step away from the pace of everyday life and spend a day immersed in the quiet rhythm of batik.** Batik is a traditional wax-resist textile art where patterns emerge slowly through the interaction of hot wax and dye. The process invites patience, attention, and a different sense of time — one where the act of making becomes as important as the final piece. In this studio workshop we will explore the traditional batik tulis process using canting (the wax drawing tool) and dye. The day unfolds gradually: observing how wax flows, how colour layers develop, and how patterns begin to reveal themselves on cloth. Working with batik often becomes a quiet conversation between intention and discovery — balancing moments of control with moments of letting go as the wax and dye take their course. Many participants find that the process creates a natural space for focus, reflection, and an inner dialogue that unfolds through making. During the workshop you will: • learn the fundamentals of traditional batik wax-resist techniques • create two small batik textiles (one guided, one your own design) • experience the slow, meditative rhythm of working with wax, colour, and pattern 📍 Location Artiloft – Craft Factory Albulastrasse 24, 8048 Zurich 📅 Dates • May 17, 2026 • June 28, 2026 • August 30, 2026 🕙 Time 10:00–16:30 (with lunch break) 💰 Price CHF 240/ session (materials included) Registration and payment are handled directly by Artiloft: [https://en.artiloft.ch/service-page/batik-cire-teinture](https://en.artiloft.ch/service-page/batik-cire-teinture) Languages: English / German For those who feel drawn to explore batik more deeply, Hazura also hosts small immersive batik retreats in Yogyakarta where participants learn directly with local artisans. The **Subagya Art Retreat** offers a slower cultural immersion into the craft and its living traditions. **Learn more:** [HazuraStudio | Subagya-art-retreat](https://www.hazurastudio.com/subagya-art-retreat)

**Get your creative flow going with a Saturday Afternoon Maker Meetup!** Whether you are looking to carve out dedicated creative time, wanting to get a lingering project across the finish line, or just looking to chat with fellow local makers—this is the space for you. 🧵 **What to Bring** Bring any art or craft project you are currently working on, as long as it is portable and quiet. Think: * **Yarn & Thread:** Knitting, crochet, embroidery, cross-stitch, hand-sewing, mending. * **Paper & Sketching:** Sketchbooks, adult coloring books, watercolors, bullet journaling. * **Digital:** Tablets, iPad drawing, laptop writing/design. * *Please note: Because we are meeting in a shared public space, no power tools, sewing machines, or high-odor materials (like strong solvents or spray glues), please!* **📍 Where to Find Us** * We will be meeting at **Columbus Metropolitan Library - Parsons Avenue Branch** in **Meeting Room 1**. Room is reserved under **CBUS Maker Meetup.** **⏱️ Timeline** * **1:00 PM:** Arrive, grab a seat, get settled, and do a quick round of introductions so we can see what everyone is working on. * **1:15 PM - 3:00 PM:** Open maker time! Chat, craft, relax, and swap creative ideas. **⚠️ A Note on RSVPs** Space for this first meetup is strictly limited to 10 spots. If your plans change and you can no longer attend, please update your RSVP to "Not Going" as soon as possible so someone on the waitlist can grab your spot. We ask that you try to give at least 48 hours' notice if you need to cancel. *** **We can't wait to meet you and see what you're making! All skill levels welcome.**
