With Sahaja Yoga Meditation we normally sit on chairs to achieve yoga, effortlessly & spontaneously. So there is no need for mats and no special clothing required.
All across the globe, many are seeking new sources of energy. Meanwhile, the most transformative energy of all is hiding in plain sight, within us. It's natural, sustainable, and infinitely renewable.
It's called inner kundalini energy. And everyone already has it — everyone!. It is often likened to an inner feminine or motherly energy
which automatically knows about us and what is needed to help us restore balance and harmony within our subtle being. It works spontaneously, effortlessly, organically and cannot be paid for.
Sahaja Yoga Meditation is a simple time-honoured technique that lets you tap into that energy and harness its power to become better balanced and better connected to yourself — emotionally, physically, mentally and spiritually
If you're having trouble juggling the challenges in your life, Sahaja Yoga Meditation might well help you manage stress, master your emotions and find solutions to your problems
. You may enjoy better health, better focus, and a deeper understanding of the universe and your place in it.
Meditation is not just for mystics and monks.
Sahaja Yoga meditation is for everyone. Anyone can do it. It's that easy. But with the Sahaja Yoga experience, you'll quickly realise, it isn't your typical Meditations 'R Us type class. It's much more than just feeling peaceful and relaxed. Sahaja Yoga Meditation has many layers, varied and deep. Explore at your own pace, in your own way. Our volunteer experts are always available to help.
Ready to plug into your inner energy? A Sahaja Yoga Meditation class is a great way to start. A few minutes of your life may be all it takes to connect to your inner energy and light the path to lifelong transformation. Sahaja Yoga is more than a temporary solution or quick relief — it is a journey, rather than a destination. It's all about energy — guaranteed pure and carbon neutral. You can never have too much of it.
The best part? All classes are free. No strings, no catch.
Everyone is welcome. Bring a friend, bring your self — all are welcome.
We have a web site here in London too which you can visit for more info about weekly meetings: www.sahajayogalondon.co.uk (http://www.sahajayogalondon.co.uk/)

Learn to Meditate - Fridays in Mayfair @ 5.45pm - Free Sahaja Yoga Class
Learn to Meditate - Fridays in Mayfair @ 5.45pm - 6.45pm Join our Free Sahaja Yoga Class
Venue: Mayfair Library 25 South Audley St, London, W1K 2PB
Achieve Yoga & enter into a state of ‘thoughtless awareness’.
In the heart of London @ Mayfair Library, there is a weekly class in free meditation.
**Achieve Yoga & Learn to Meditate in 2026 - 5:45- 6:45pm Fridays**
The first experience of Sahaja Yoga meditation is called Self Realisation. With Sahaja Yoga Meditation we generally sit on chairs to achieve Yoga, effortlessly & spontaneously. As such no Asanas (exercises) are required, no mat or special clothing
## What is Meditation?
Meditation is a state of mental silence or rest, where our attention is aware, but not engrossed in thinking. It is known as ‘thoughtless awareness’. It is achieved when the indwelling Kundalini energy awakens and carries the individual attention beyond the level of the 6th chakra, into the seventh chakra, known as Sahasrara.
## Yoga!
It is here we achieve Yoga! As the mind finds rest and silence, we become able to feel our inner Self (Spirit). This can be tangibly felt, it actually manifests, as a cool wind, breath or breeze, often experienced on the palms of the hands or at the top (crown) of the head. It is a spontaneous, effortless natural happening.
Each week many people experience this actualisation at one of the many free meditation classes on offer
## How to get into balance?
The secret of the Sahaja Yoga method resides within us, at the base of the spinal chord, in a triangular bone called the “sacrum bone”. Since our birth in our sacrum bone dwells an inner energy called in Sanskrit Kundalini; it is characterised as a feminine energy and once activated, this energy rises along our spine until it reaches the top of the head and finally connects with the universal energy. This union is called “yoga” in Sanskrit.
## Kundalini
As our indwelling Kundalini rises through the central channel, this benevolent feminine energy activates the chakras, removing all the impurities from them and nourishing the entire inner system. It is through this happening that we are elevated into ‘thoughtless awareness’, the mental silence of true meditation

SLITHER (2006) + DRINKS @ PCC
Details on getting tickets for Slither + pre drinks below.
PREMISE
Slither takes place in a quiet South Carolina town where a meteorite containing an alien parasite crash lands, eventually infecting local resident Grant Grant (played by Gunn mainstay Michael Rooker, and no, Grant Grant is not a typo). The creature gradually takes over Grant’s body and mind, who is compelled to feast on raw meat and infect others. Grant’s wife Starla (Elizabeth Banks) and the town sheriff Bill Pardy (Nathan Fillion) eventually tie several disappearances to him, though nothing can prepare them for what they discover.
James Gunn never truly achieved large-scale audience recognition until his revered work on Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy film, which owes its success first and foremost to Gunn’s style and vision, seamlessly combining dark, irreverent humour, action and emotional depth. However, Slither is Gunn’s directorial debut, and thus is the first time he proved himself to be a one-two-punch auteur whose snappy writing pairs well with his directorial sensibilities, proving that he was producing the goods long before Guardians catapulted him to the upper echelons of mainstream cinema.
Perhaps the most notable distinction from his major budget work with Marvel and Slither is the latter’s unabashed B-movie undertones. I am hesitant to label this a zombie movie, yet there is a touch of the mad scientist to Gunn as he splices hints of Roger Corman’s deliberate schlock with George A. Romero’s approach to the undead. However, unlike Romero’s best works, thematic subtext can get somewhat lost in the mix as I could only pick up on allusions to domestic abuse, which even then lacks the necessary conviction.
It is instead Gunn’s comprehension of his characters, and the situations in which they find themselves, that is one of his best assets as a filmmaker. With surprising patience for a comedy horror, Gunn dials up the obscene notch by notch until it reaches eleven, at which point Fillion’s Bill dryly remarks “Well now, that is some fucked up shit.” At that very moment, Gunn’s character echoed what I, and likely many other audience members, were thinking, proving that he is indeed on a similar wavelength to his target audience, something I greatly admire in any filmmaker.
However, occasionally flat cinematography can distract from the otherwise gleeful horror onscreen, perhaps the only aspect of Slither which veers all too close to the B-movies it seeks to emulates, though it is forgivably offset by sharply written characters and an impressive cast. Take Michael Rooker’s Grant, who is an undeniable jerk, yet Gunn’s sympathetic framing of the character adds depth you simply would not find in a B-movie lacking any sense of nuance. Meanwhile, Edmonton native Nathan Fillion shows impressive comedic timing while proving that he has the chops to lead a film on the big screen, which makes his diminished presence in films over the years even more baffling.
Slither is a horror film which showcases all the best hallmarks of James Gunn as a filmmaker, albeit in a manner less refined than his best work on Guardians of the Galaxy. While the influence of genre greats are obvious, Gunn’s directorial debut is nonetheless a marriage of comedy and horror that is all its own, whilst delivering the absurd with the emotional in a manner you don’t often see, but is sure to split some sides…though hopefully not as literally as in the film (https://hnmag.ca/review/slither-review/)

Celtic Magic: A Practitioner's Guide - Brigid Ehrmantraut
Druids and divination, curses and charms: the Celtic world was filled with magic and intrigue, but how did people practise magic and what did they use it for? Brigid Ehrmantraut takes us on a journey through the Celtic-speaking world to explore the different ways people interacted with magic. Some sought aid through deities and dedications, while others wanted to punish their enemies with spells and curse tablets.
By the start of the medieval period, we see magic collide with popular religion, saints overtake the old gods, and witches, shapeshifting and spirit battles make their way into medieval literature. Ehrmantraut introduces us to the gods and practices that shaped the lives of the Celtic people in antiquity. She brings to life forgotten gods like Cernunnos and Esus, immortalized on the Pillar of the Boatmen, and explores the sanctuary of Sequana, goddess of healing at the Seine’s source. But magic wasn’t always benevolent; curses (defixiones) like those etched on the Larzac tablet expose a darker side to magic practitioners. While Classical accounts of magic offer tantalizing glimpses into lurid rituals and wild druids, their accounts blurring fact and fiction.
Our voyage through the Celtic world sweeps into medieval Wales and Ireland, touching on Scotland and Brittany in the process. Protective prayers, such as St Patrick’s loricae, and miraculous tales from saints’ lives reveal the interplay of magic and religion. While the power of star signs and medicinal charms connect Celtic practices to broader medieval traditions. Finally, the book celebrates the legacy of Celtic magic, linking ancient magic to modern Celtic-inspired spirituality.
Throughout the book, the reader will find tips and tricks for practising their own magic, including creating curses, dedicating ex votos to the gods, and a medieval Welsh cure for a hangover.

Candlelight Couples Yoga
**Deepen Connection through Yoga**
Often we practise yoga postures on our own – *and have you ever considered practising together with a friend or a significant other?*
**Couples Yoga**, or yoga practised in pairs, is a way of deepening connection with both our own being and the other. This practice offers a beautiful opportunity to **communicate beyond words** with your partner. During the shared yoga postures, we can tune into specific energies within ourselves and our partner, cultivating **harmony and balance**. This ‘tuning in’ allows us to **connect more deeply, understand one another in new ways, and create an enriched sense of intimacy.**
Practised in the intimate ambience of **candlelight**, Couples Yoga can offer profound insights and transformation – whether experienced as a romantic couple or as close friends. It is a unique practice and a nourishing way to spend **quality time together!**
Each session will include:
* A short introduction & explanation
* Heart-connection exercises
* Warming up exercises
* Couples Yoga postures
* A profound relaxation
*Whilst Couples Yoga is beneficial for couples, it is also suitable for two friends. You must come already with a partner.* You do not need to be flexible for this practice. All that is needed is to wear comfortable clothing and bring an open heart & mind.

Practical Philosophy Meetup - London 🇬🇧
**🏛️ WHAT'S PRACTICAL PHILOSOPHY ABOUT?**
Practical Philosophy is a weekly meet-up that brings critical thinkers together for an opportunity to dive deep on a topic, practice communicating, and building a community. All with no ‘official’ philosophy knowledge required! 😎
Practical Philosophy is based on the idea that philosophy should be accessible to all, and not something reserved only for academics. Each week we choose a topic, and the goal is to use the conversation to develop our critical thinking and communication as we explore that topic.
The goal is to help develop our Critical Thinking, Communication, and Community 🙌
📓 **HOW DOES IT WORK?**
Each week, we pick one topic and discuss it. The topic for the week is shared, generally in the [Whatsapp group](https://chat.whatsapp.com/Ja2H9lXYtWX8RdCKHw6qNK), along with jump-off points to get the conversation going.
When groups get bigger than 7-8 people, it’s important that we break into smaller groups. This way we are able to maintain a conversational flow as opposed to having our meetups feel like a discourse or lecture.
**General Meeting Agenda**
Each Practical Philosophy meet-up follows this general timeline:
* 13:45-14:00 - People arrive and chat, get to know each other before the ‘official' start.
* 14:00-14:05 - Meeting introduction, explanation of Practical Philosophy and the topic for the week, read the guidelines and the overview so attendees know what to expect in terms of timelines.
* 14:05-14:45 - Break into small groups - introduce yourselves and general thoughts on the topic, open discussion afterwards. At this point the group can review the ‘jump-off’ questions as needed, but they are just there to help guide the conversation. It’s not obligatory to answer them.
* 14:45 - We do a group conclusion of the things we discussed, and then we typically take a photo and go on our way :) If you don't want to be in the group photo, there's no pressure, it's just a way to close out the meeting. We occasionally have an unofficial social so the different groups can mingle afterwards too!
**🧧PRICING?**
Practical Philosophy Club is FREE to attend, and we operate on donations.
If you'd like to donate to support our running costs, that helps keep our group self-sustaining. Donations are 100% voluntary, but your contribution is appreciated! QR codes to donate will be present.
Tea’s and coffees and are paid by the individual should they wish to have them.
**💛 WHAT PEOPLE SAY ABOUT PRACTICAL PHILOSOPHY**
🗣 “I feel like Philosophy Club helps someone build their own belief system through a series of perspectives while not promoting what’s right and wrong” - Ekam
🗣 “I got hooked from day 1 (the topic was authority) and felt it was the right place for me. I feel it is a place where people can go to learn and discuss new perspectives and increase critical thinking and community by interacting with people who might challenge your point of views but at the same time encourage you to have openness and mind flexibility.” - Daniel
**🤓 FAQ**
* What will we talk about? What's the topic?
The topic for the week is shared every week in the Whatsapp group before the session. We try to add the topic to the comment section on this event page as well but if you don’t see it, the topic and the jump-off points will be in our [Whatsapp](https://chat.whatsapp.com/Ja2H9lXYtWX8RdCKHw6qNK).
* Do I need to study or read anything to attend?
No preparation is necessary. This isn’t a study of other thinkers. We want to know what YOU think about the topic, not what an old philosopher thought. If you have a perspective from a religion or a school of thought to share, throw it on the table and we’ll discuss it, but it's not required.
* Is there a specific philosophy that Practical Philosophy is focused on?
The goal of our meet-ups is to not have dogmatic discussions, and flex our critical thinking muscles. Because of this, we want to hear from every realm of thought, and don't study a particular school.
* Is it mostly men that attend?
Surprisingly, no! Although philosophy is seen as a Candelabra affair in a dark room with a bunch of guys, our Practical Philosophy meetups are generally 50/50 between genders, and we don’t meet in any dark rooms.
* Can I come alone?
Of course you can, we encourage it :)
* Can I be late?
Please don't be! We do have a 15 minute grace period where we allow people to funnel in while we hang out, but after that if you arrive too late, it disrupts the flow of the conversation.
* Where do you meet?
The location is posted in Meetup and our [Whatsapp](https://chat.whatsapp.com/Ja2H9lXYtWX8RdCKHw6qNK) group for this location. It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that you join the Whatsapp group! If you want to know what other cities have a Practical Philosophy Club, you can see our chapters on our [website](https://www.practicalphilosophy.club/practical-philosophy-locations/).
🤝**POLICY**
To respect our members privacy, we ask that no one privately message a member without first getting explicit consent. (This looks like speaking in person and being asked to message privately.) Contacting or texting other participants without prior consent is not permitted and may result in removal from the group. Practical Philosophy reserves the right to enforce this policy at its discretion to maintain a safe and respectful environment.
**PRACTICAL PHILOSOPHY - Making Philosophy Available To All.** ✨
Practical Philosophy hosts weekly, in-person meetups in 25+ countries, including Canada, Spain, Japan, Mexico and many more! 🗺️

Labyrinth Walking Meditation
Come and walk in silence and to music, around a replica of the labyrinth on the floor of Chartres Cathedral in extended time of walking meditation and reflection. The Labyrinth is a means, a tool which can help us to go within ourselves to “find our way”. To connect with our own inner Light and connect to a deeper/ higher sense of ourselves. It has no dogma or agenda. All we are asked to do is walk.
Building on our regular practice of walking the labyrinth every two months on a Sunday evening, this workshop is an invitation to walk with intention and afterward there will be an opportunity to reflect on your experience through writing and meditation then share with others any insights you have gained.
**Donations**
We are a registered charity and rely on contributions to continue our work. We ask you to give what you can afford. Suggested donation: £10
Let's Discuss... Plato’s Cave of Mirrors
Every day you look at the news on your phone and you are shown a perspective on multiple events, vivid pictures, videos, and explanations that decide for you what to think. When you come out of your bubble and try to talk to others, you realise they have the wrong perspective. You assumed they saw the same undeniable evidence you did, with the same explanations. But each person is shown a perspective tailored to them, believable and convincing from where they stand.
We moved from relying on our own eyes, to gossip, to the printing press, to radio and TV, and now to news customised to each individual.
We moved from Plato's Cave, where we were all chained side by side experiencing the same shadows, to isolation, each of us with our own unique shadows.
In Plato's Cave they were wrong together. Are we more lost being wrong alone?
Is your bubble protecting you or trapping you?
Can we build a shared world if we can't share a shared reality?
Learn more about [the allegory of the cave](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allegory_of_the_cave).

Krishnamurti Inspired Sunday Dialogue
**Here we meet up outside of the restaurant setting, in a beautiful room at the Tibetan Buddhist Centre in London. The quiet venue is helpful for perhaps a greater deep dive and attention to our topic.**
Together we shall be exploring some of the themes that Krishnamurti is proposing but, more importantly, that we ourselves are facing in our everyday life.
Krishnamurti is showing us what he sees about human conditioning and the lack or freedom and love that dominates existence.
Our inquiry is to see this conditioning for ourselves and to bring about fundamental change.
### **Dialogue Dates For 2026**
* Sunday 11th January
* Sunday 8th February
* Sunday 8th March
* Sunday 12th April
* Sunday 10th May
* Sunday date in June awaiting confirmation
* SORRY THE CENTRE IS CLOSED DURING JULY & AUGUST
* Sunday 13th September
* Sunday 11th October
* Sunday 8th November
* Sunday 13th December
**The Dialogue**
As we sit together and exchange on these unresolved topics of life, we will be confronted with the living limitations of our relationships in the group.
What is real listening to each other or is my listening and attention already conditioned? What is real inquiry and can we think together during our dialogue?
### **Refreshments**
Do come early and have a cup of tea with friends here at the Tibetan Buddhist Cafe on the premises.
You can also go and sit in the little garden outside or relax in the lovely library for more private informal dialogues between participants.
I will be present at the premises cafe for pre dialogue get togethers: (please contact me if you want me to be there at a specific time...)
### **Contribution Price for the Dialogue**
There will be a cost of £10 per dialogue per person to cover the hiring of the room, thank you

Maida Vale – beautiful buildings – and brothels
All are welcome on this walk which is presented by Central London Humanists. Humanists believe we have just one life to be lived rationally and well with compassion for others.
This event is a guided walk of +/-2 hours pointing out places of interest.
We will be walking 3 Km / 1.8 miles.
Maida Vale’s name is derived from Italy. However we will come across buildings relating to Wales, Indonesia, Spain and Portugal. Whilst Maida Vale is often overlooked, many famous people have made it their home because of its tree-lined avenues and attractive housing. Amongst other discoveries we’ll try to spot an eruv (no – I hadn’t heard this word before), a former roller skating palace visited by top music artists and a plaque to someone “who lived in a relatively modest way”.
**Date:** Saturday 11th April 2026
**Time:** 2 pm with a prompt departure at 2.15 pm.
**Place:** Meet outside Maida Vale underground station (Bakerloo Line). It is strongly suggested you find us using: [https://what3words.com/afford.gold.tell](https://what3words.com/afford.gold.tell) \- or the What3Words app\.
The nearest toilet is at Gail’s café opposite the underground station.
**Finishes:** About 4.15 pm near Maida Vale underground station or join us for refreshments at The Elgin, 255 Elgin Avenue W9 1NJ.
The walk is led by Robert – 07981963681. He can be contacted for further information but please note he won’t be able to respond to messages or calls after the walk has started.
**The formal bit:**
These walks are not suitable for dogs, sorry.
CLH events are 18+ unless accompanied by a parent or guardian.
You are responsible for your own actions and safety; there is no liability on the walk leader or CLH for anything that may happen on the walk.
You must be able to keep up with the walk leader at 4 Km/h (2.5 mph) for 5 Km (3 miles). It is participants' responsibility to safely cross roads.
Where appropriate, pedestrian controlled lights will be obeyed unless it is obvious that the whole group can cross safely.
When the group stops at a point of interest, please be mindful not to block pavements so members of the public can pass by safely.
Don’t forget this is the UK and it may rain at any time! The walk will go ahead whatever the weather unless conditions are dangerous so please bring clothing for all seasons.
**A donation of £3 to Central London Humanists would be appreciated.**
The majority of Central London Humanists events are free, but we welcome a £3 contribution per head. This helps towards the running and organising of events, as well as various admin expenses. If you can't attend and would still like to contribute, or would prefer to pay online, please **[click here](https://checkout.square.site/merchant/ML71XMH66FX5E/checkout/ALWCDLQ3S7AVPLFZ62PZGXLU)**[.](https://checkout.square.site/merchant/ML71XMH66FX5E/checkout/ALWCDLQ3S7AVPLFZ62PZGXLU)

What Gen Z Students Wish Parents, Schools, and Churches Would Really Ask!
This month at **Taproom Theology**, we’re handing the mic to the people everyone talks *about* but rarely talks *with*: **Gen Z students**.
Join us for a candid, eye‑opening panel where local teens and young adults share the real challenges their generation is navigating — from mental health and identity to faith, friendships, pressure, and the future they’re inheriting.
But this isn’t just a conversation about struggles. It’s a chance to hear **what they wish parents, churches, and schools understood**, the questions they *want* adults to ask, and the support they’re actually looking for.
Expect honesty. Expect surprises. Expect wisdom that doesn’t sound like a lecture — because it’s coming straight from the voices living it every day.
Whether you’re a parent, educator, ministry leader, or simply someone who cares about the next generation, this is a rare opportunity to listen, learn, and build bridges across the generational gap.
**Come ready to hear. Come ready to rethink. Come ready to understand Gen Z on their own terms.**

Hello Everybody!
Join us this Saturday at 11 AM at the Fairfax Wegmans as we continue our Bible study and discussions.
Recently, we've been studying the "types" (patterns or pictures) of Jesus in the Old Testament in chronological order starting with creation. We will go all the way to David as a type of Jesus the King.
As anyone who's attended before knows, we have open discussions. Our goal is always to grow in our love, knowledge, and relationship with Jesus and to have fellowship.
We invite the presence of the Holy Spirit as we meet together and we've had some great conversations and revelations. Please join us as we continue our Bible study and prayers.
God bless you all,
Mihail
BreadBreakers Community Dinner: Dialogue Over Divisions
**In a time of division and isolation, come be part of the community that's rebuilding the town square, one table at a time.**
In BreadBreakers, we use the common space of the dining table to have conversations where neighbors can **hear, be heard, and know one another.** If you're hungry for good conversation and deeper community, join us for a Community Dinner in Reston and help blaze the trail to a healthier, more connected society and democracy.
Here’s how it works: For just two hours, multiple tables of people set aside the need to "win" and instead focus on sharing, listening, and connecting. Guided by experienced table hosts, we'll tell our stories, try to understand each other, and practice being in community with those with different views or backgrounds.
**At this dinner, participants will get to choose between three different topics, including some current events.** Topics range from the political, to the "slice of life", to the spiritual, to the philosophical, to the off-the-wall - but no matter which table you choose to sit at, you can be sure it'll be like no dinner conversation you've had before! You can also **suggest a topic** by emailing us at BreadBreakersInfo@gmail.com.
Food will be provided for free. For those who wish to provide a donation to help fund BreadBreakers, you can [give here](https://pushpay.com/g/restorationrestonumc?fnd=pO6G-N7oO7FH7Mp1u-x6mA&fndv=Lock&r=No&lang=en&src=pcgl) or at the event.
We'll have vegetarian and gluten-free options available. If you have any additional dietary restrictions (Celiac Disease, vegan, etc.) please let us know at BreadBreakersInfo@gmail.com so that we can implement the appropriate food handling procedures.
**Join us, invite a friend, and be a part of the movement to mend our fractured society and normalize a better way of talking with one another.**
BreadBreakers, an initiative by [Restoration United Methodist Church](https://restorationreston.org/breadbreakers) in Reston, VA, is a religiously inclusive community. All faiths and all stripes are welcomed. Our leadership, volunteer team, and community include people who attend Restoration and people who don't.
