No inclou els bitllets de transport. **DESCRIPCIÒ:** Interesant sortida que ens portarà per les muntanyes de Calafell, amb camins pel bosc, coves amb passat prehistòric, pedreres transformades en parc, pobles abandonats, castells medievals i tot amanit amb fantàstiques vistes panoràmiques. Arribats a Calafell farem una aturada al bar per prendre un cafè y començar a caminar a les 10h. Es possible que algun tram del camí estigui tallat per arbres caiguts que haurem de vorejar i, també, haurem de tenir cura amb petits trams de pedra llisa que pots estar relliscosa per la humitat del matí. Res que faci complicada la ruta, pel demés amb un desnivell molt assumible per tothom. **La cova Foradada** deu el seu nom a la forma circular i arrodonida de la seva entrada superior. Es tracta d'una petita cova formada per dues sales a diferents nivells unides per una rampa. Al peu d'aquesta forma un relleu circular, es tracta d'un gorg, la qual ha produït una nova sortida que conforma una boca inferior. **La Pedrera d´Escarnosa** es d´origen medieval on es van extreure materials fins a principis del segle XX. A les parets de roca que arriben a 10 metres d'alçada. A les parets del front s'observen les faixes horitzontals que corresponen als blocs extrets i, com a mínim al costat sud de l'entrada de la pedrera, alguns dels solcs realitzats per a l'extracció dels blocs. És una zona molt arbrada i tranquil·la, on hi ha diverses taules de pícnic, ideal per relaxar-se i gaudir a l'estiu ja que és molt fresc. Es interessant la visita al Castell de la Santa Creu de Calafell, pel que si hi ha consens entre els caminants iniciaríem la caminada visitant en primer lloc el castell ja que d’altre manera, si ho fem en acabar la caminada potser no arribaríem a temps per fer la visita. **El Castell de la Santa Creu** és un recinte fortificat d'època medieval, documentat per primera ve-gada l'any 1037. El castell va patir diverses transformacions i usos al llarg del temps, passant de ser un castell fronterer de la marca hispànica a un palau residencial d'estil gòtic a mans de dife-rents famílies nobles. Va ser parcialment destruït a la Guerra dels Segadors i convertir en un ce-mentiri. L’itinerari pel recinte inclou el pas per diversos punts destacats del castell, com l'església d'estil romànic, la cisterna o el comunidor, espais que amaguen històries molt interessants i curioses d'aquesta població penedesenca. We'll have a quick coffee by the sea and then start the ascent to the top of the Garraf mountain. It's quite a steep, steady climb for about an hour. Once there, we'll pass Can Llucà, an old farmhouse with horses and donkeys. We'll continue on to La Casa Vella, an old ruined house then follow the path which will take us all along the top of the Garraf. It is an easy wide path with rugged, wild scenery of all the Garraf mountain. It really is quite stunning and gives a sense of freedom on seeing the rolling hills in every direction. This will be about four miles. Now, this won't be one of our longer hikes. However, in my experience, Quarry Trails tends to wear people out more quickly than other parks. I suspect this is because most of the trails are either paved or heavily graveled (no surprise at a park which abuts an active stone quarry), with some elevation changes along the way. ***(She loves me!)* Where We'll Meet** Quarry Trails has multiple entrances, but none of them are connected internally within the park. So you must drive to the correct one for this event. I recommend taking a few minutes and looking at Maps before you head out to make sure you know where you're going. ***(So walk with me...)* Restrooms and Water Fountains** There are a few port-a-potties sprinkled throughout the park (including two at the parking lot we'll be meeting at), and the Park Office, roughly in the center of the park and which we'll pass twice on this hike, has restrooms and a water fountain.
