Insight Meditation of Northern Virginia
**LOCATION CHANGE as of APRIL 1, 2026:**
**Body Grace has moved to 133 Maple Avenue East, 3rd Floor, above the Bear Branch Tavern.**
Whether you're new to Insight meditation or an advanced practitioner looking for like-minded people to sit with, you're welcome to join us at our Sunday morning drop-in group, sponsored by the Insight Meditation Community of Washington. Insight meditation cultivates our natural wisdom and compassion. Meditation practice develops concentration, which allows us to calm and steady the mind.
This class includes a 30-minute lightly-guided meditation, followed by a short talk and time for questions and discussion. The size of the group usually runs somewhere between 25-40 people in-person and between 12-25 online. Chairs are provided, or you may bring a sitting cushion or bench. You may also use the blankets and bolsters offered by the yoga studio.
**We offer both in-person and online attendance.**
To learn more about our topics and teachers, view our videos or **get the Zoom link**, visit our [class page](https://imcw.org/event/?eventId=735&utm_source=MeetUp&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=vienna-drop-in).
Time to Read-In Person
We will meet outside as long as the weather is nice. If not, we will move inside. Look out for a comment the morning of each meeting with our exact location.
As we are meeting in person, please remember to bring something to read as we usually spend some time sharing our current reads and/or reading when meeting in person. As a reminder, there is no assigned reading; please bring whatever you are currently working on. This group is super casual, sometimes we read and sometimes we talk the whole time.
**** NO SHOW POLICY: Due to the high number of members on the waitlist recently we are having to reinstate our no-show policy. If you sign up and no-show to 2 events you will be removed from the group. Reminders are provided weekly to change your RSVP to allow those on the waitlist a chance to come to the meet-up, no 3rd chances with be given. Please be considerate to your fellow members. Thank you!
I look forward to reading you!
2026 Annual Mother's Day Arboretum Walk
We will be celebrating Mother's Day with a walk around the DC Arboretum weather permitting. We will gathering at the Columns and will depart and walk the Azalea trail loop which is accessible and pretty level ground. If others have more enthusiasm for a slightly harder follow-on walk you can join us for the Asian gardens or the Fern Valley depending on the weather. Please try to arrive early as this is a very popular spot on Mother's Day when the weather is good and parking near the visitor center or the Columns fills up really quickly. There is always overflow parking at the NY avenue entrance so if you are running late feel free to catch up to the group.
As always bring whatever you need (poop bags, water, stroller) for your corgis and RSVP the number of CORGIS attending. Normal rules apply for us (need full dog vaccination, no females in heat, no aggressive behavior allowed, mixes always welcome if corgi friendly, be responsible for your own corgi and "human puppies" behavior if bringing kids) but you may want to double check the venue rules. Entrance should be free but as this is not my venue venue may surprise us with events or fees so always be prepared.
Rain date announcement will be made by Saturday midnight.

Tech & Truth Café
An open space for real conversation about how technology is shaping our world, and how we can respond with wisdom, purpose, and values.
## COMING UP:
## Life with Augmented Intelligence
**Shaping how we live, work, and build in an AI-driven world**
From assistants → to collaboration → to autonomous systems
***
**A different way of thinking, working, building.**
Most people are still using AI at the surface.
Answers. Shortcuts. Quick help.
But underneath, work is starting to look different:
* systems instead of tasks
* collaboration instead of commands
* design instead of effort
This is a space to step into that.
Not a workshop.
Not a panel.
A place to see what’s emerging, hear how others are thinking, and explore what it means for your own life and work.

If you’ve been experimenting with something interesting,
building something, or thinking differently about AI…
reach out. We’d love to include you in the conversation.

**The first meetup is at Caboose Brewing in Mosaic District. No agenda. No icebreaker games. Show up, grab a drink, and talk to people who know what it’s like to be doing this largely on their own.**

LOCATION CHANGE: Circlesinging Together ** Pump House Community Center **
LOCATION CHANGE: In May we are back at Pump House in Rockville!
\*\*\*
The community-singing event where where everything's made up and the point — to sing for our lives — matters.
Our leaders will teach you parts to sing for spontaneously-composed choral pieces. We play a variety of listening/music/singing games, and create safe opportunities for participants to improvise as little or as much as they might like.
Good for all skill levels, shower-singers to seasoned pros, no sheet-music-reading required.
\*\*\*
We usually meet on the second Sunday of the month, and will continue to meet in-person as long as it makes sense. We encourage and provide masks.
We will also plan on continuing our Zoom circles from time to time. So please check the day before/day of the meetup each month to confirm date & details.
This world needs more song; join in the fun, and be the music you want to hear in the world.
Hope to see you there!

Recruiting Virtual Mental Health Group Leaders!
We are recruiting new group leaders for virtual men's groups! Our primary groups are outdoor movement groups, but we are launching virtual groups for the state of Ohio and beyond and the groups will move outside in the spring, creating room for men's groups, women's groups and coed groups all over the country.
Read below to learn about our groups and click the links at the bottom to apply.
### **What is an Outdoor Empowerment Group?**
Our Outdoor Movement & Community Empowerment Groups are simple, guided experiences designed to help people reconnect with nature, themselves, and others. We combine some form of movement (hike, walk, run, bike, yoga, workout) and meaningful conversation within a simple community circle to create a space where individuals can support each other while prioritizing mental and physical well-being.
Whether you’re seeking stress relief, personal growth, or community, our groups offer everyone a unique and welcoming environment.
## **Why Join?**
* **Improve Mental & Physical Well-Being** – Movement, nature, and supportive conversations reduce stress and promote balance.
* **Feel Less Alone** – Build genuine connections with like-minded people in a safe, welcoming space.
* **Gain Clarity & Perspective** – Step outside daily routines and into a space designed for personal growth and reflection.
## **The Ideal Group Leader**
The ideal group leader
* Has a born-in passion for mental health, movement, connecting with nature and building community.
* Has 5 extra hours per week to dedicate to a meaningful cause for at least one year. Yes, you can leave any organization at any time and we can also ask you to leave, but we are building with legacy in mind and we need people who can commit and be ALL IN on this mission to build with us.
* Is independently financially stable with the ability to volunteer with no expectation of pay. This is a deeply beautiful journey of service that all participants commit to at Speak Your Mind.
* An ability to manage groups with high emotional intelligence and desire for human connection.
* An ability to self-motivate and market/promote their group on Facebook and other social platforms.
* Nature informed therapy or clinical therapists/psychologists a plus.
## **Our Impact**

Since launching, we have helped thousands find support, connection, and healing through our Outdoor Movement Groups. 100% of participants surveyed have reported:
* A noticeable improvement in mental clarity and emotional well-being.
* An increase in social connection and a sense of belonging.
* Said they would return again.
We believe mental health should be accessible, community-driven, and rooted in nature. Join us and take the first step toward a more connected, grounded, and supported version of yourself.
### **Why Our Groups are Donation-Based**
Our Outdoor Movement Groups are made possible through a donation-based model. This approach allows us to keep our events accessible to everyone, regardless of financial circumstances, while also ensuring that we can continue expanding our reach. It’s a great way to pay it forward and support the growth of this beautiful mission!
Every contribution helps us:
* **Cover Essential Costs** – Donations allow us to pay essential legal, marketing, insurance, and admin costs as well as nourish the important people who run the organization.
* **Grow Our Mission** – With your support, we can bring these healing experiences to thousands more people in the future and execute our long term plan to expand across the USA, affecting up to 500,000 people per year.
By choosing to contribute, you’re not just leading an event—you’re helping build a mental health movement that supports long-term well-being and connection for all during a severe mental health epidemic.
## **Come Join Us!**
We’d love to have you be part of this growing community of people prioritizing their mental health, movement, and connection.

Indianapolis Faceless Online Speed Dating Event
**🎊 Zoom Speed Dating for Indianapolis Locals from Home**
In each session, you'll move through private one-on-one video rounds with Indianapolis people in your age bracket who match your profile, with someone hosting live from start to finish.
When booking your spot, you take a quick personality and preferences survey — those results are used to match you with Indianapolis people who are actually compatible, so the format works harder than any dating app.
When it is all over, we send mutual match results — with privacy guaranteed for all non-mutual picks — and everything that follows is on your schedule.
**Age groups — click yours to register:**
- **Ages 18-32** → [REGISTER HERE](https://tempodating.com/product?productId=476.0&productType=onlineSpeedDating&city=Indianapolis&groupurlname=collective-of-singles-planning-dinner-parties&ar=18-32&face_v=3.0)
- **Ages 30-46** → [REGISTER HERE](https://tempodating.com/product?productId=476.0&productType=onlineSpeedDating&city=Indianapolis&groupurlname=collective-of-singles-planning-dinner-parties&ar=30-46&face_v=3.0)
- **Ages 40-58** → [REGISTER HERE](https://tempodating.com/product?productId=476.0&productType=onlineSpeedDating&city=Indianapolis&groupurlname=collective-of-singles-planning-dinner-parties&ar=40-58&face_v=3.0)
- **Ages 55+** → [REGISTER HERE](https://tempodating.com/product?productId=476.0&productType=onlineSpeedDating&city=Indianapolis&groupurlname=collective-of-singles-planning-dinner-parties&ar=55+&face_v=3.0)
**⚠️ RSVP is not enough:** Rsvping on meetup does not confirm your spot at the event, so follow the age group link above, register, and complete the personality quiz to lock in your spot — numbers are intentionally limited so register early, and only the combination of both confirms your attendance.
---
**The breakdown**
1. **Register** – through the link corresponding to your age range, then complete the personality assessment, because registration closes once spots fill.
2. **Log on** – by opening the session link at the right time, works on any device without requiring a download, and from there a live host guides everything.
3. **Start the rounds** – brief timed one-on-one chats with Indianapolis singles curated for you by age and personality, as the host signals each transition calmly and clearly, knowing the matching already happened before you got on Zoom.
4. **Discover your matches** – mutual selections are shared privately once the evening wraps, with contact info only shared when both of you said yes, and from there you call every shot.
**Ideal if you are:**
- Someone near Indianapolis who have had enough of apps that waste evenings for no return and are ready for something that feels natural.
- Professionals from the Indianapolis area moving on from dating apps that go nowhere and want actual face-to-face conversation.
- Someone in the Indianapolis area moving beyond apps that waste evenings for no return and are ready for a genuine first impression.
- Members calling Indianapolis home who have given up on profiles instead of real people and are looking for real connection.
- Daters from around Indianapolis moving beyond shallow connections that never lead anywhere and want to talk to real people tonight.
**The Basics**
- **Format:** Real-time via a live video call centred on focused one-on-one video dates, age and personality sorted before the event begins.
- **Where:** Fully remote — on whatever device you prefer, no special equipment — just a device with a camera and internet, and wherever you feel at ease is effectively your venue.
- **Host:** A professional host handles everything so you just show up and enjoy, meaning you never have to think about the format — every transition and every call to move on is handled.
- **Vibe:** Welcoming private Zoom chats with real people from Indianapolis not filtered profiles, and the format itself removes most of the pressure.
- **Duration:** Total time is around 75 minutes or so across all rounds, and you will barely notice the time.
💡 **Tip:** clear your background or find a tidy corner, so the rounds feel natural from the very start, since small prep leads to a noticeably better experience.
---
✨ One Zoom call, real conversations, real matches — grab your spot above and the evening takes care of itself tonight. Can not wait to see you there. 🕊️ ✨

Data & Analytics Wednesday - Mapping and Dashboards
**Total Eclipse of the Chart: School Redistricting Dashboards**
In this presentation, we will explore the utilization of maps, sets, and SQL within a Tableau dashboard to help provide “what-if” analyses generated through the use of a mapped dashboard, providing different scenarios and the potential implications of these.
While in this use case we are focused on a large school district, the concepts of utilizing existing data to explore the future impacts of modifying different geographic boundaries can be useful to many industries, balancing the mix of maps with visual analytics.
