Walk & Talk in German
Join us for a healthy dose of German conversation practice on the go. We will PUNCTUALLY meet in-person at Quartier Belvedere station and then set out for a relaxing walk in the area, e.g. Belvedere palace gardens, Sonnwendviertel or Arsenal park. Exact meeting point is shared after RSVP'ing below.
Event is suitable for levels A2/B1/B2 with a German native-speaking facilitator helping with discussion prompts and language questions. In case of bad weather, we will head to a nearby indoor venue instead.
Admission is EUR 5.00 in cash (please bring exact amount) to help cover our efforts for organizing and hosting this event.

PCE Philosophic Conversation in English
PCE - "Philosophic Conversation in English" is a discussion event in English language which focuses on psychology, philosophy, self-consciousness and self-realization. The conversation is based on inclusive discussion rules. We will meet at at a restaurant where we will have a private room exclusively reserved for our event.
At the beginning we will choose the two topics to discuss. Everybody can suggest a topic. Afterwards we will vote what topics to discuss. The person who suggests a winning topic will start the discussion by explaining his/her idea.
Afterwards everybody gets his/her chance to make a statement. But you can also decide to remain silent and only listen, if you prefer that. We have a time limit for statements, so that everybody has enough time to speak. It is not allowed to interrupt somebody who is speaking. After a statement everybody can ask a question and the speaker will answer.
After the first part there will be a 15 minutes break before we start the second part.
Everybody is welcome to our event: We are interested in your thoughts and opinions! It is no problem if you arrive late and you can also leave whenever you want.
Please don't bring pets to this event because the room is usually very crowded. Please make sure to register for the event to secure your seat!

Join us as we combine healthy, balanced movement with fun, gamified ideas to give you our unique FUNctional training! And in case that doesn’t really tell you what to expect, just think short intervals of exercise combined together in a playful and interactive way to help you strengthen your body in a sustainable way while allowing you to meet new people (and often even forget how hard you’re working out).
As a reminder for those nervous about their fitness level: Everything we do, we do with all fitness levels in mind; so the exercises are always adjustable to your level and you’re always strongly encouraged to take it at your own pace - I mean, we’re not called My Pace for nothing!

The money is secondary.

Tango Fundamentals 1
There's something about tango that gets under your skin.
You watched it, or tried it once, and something in you probably felt really good. Because tango is connetion in the present moment.
Tango Fundamentals 1 is a structured 6-week course designed to take your tango journey through the basic steps and figures of Argentine tango. This is not just about copying moves - but rather actually understanding how tango works. The connection, the lead and follow, the conversation between two people through movement.
By the end of these six weeks, you'll understand the basic concepts of tango, the etiquette of milongas, how to invite someone to dance - and you'll actually be able to dance.
**What's included:**
* 6 weekly classes - every Monday, 75 minutes each
* Bonus 4 online evenings - stretching, strength, technique and mindfulness to support your body and focus in your Tango Journey
* 1 Practica at the end - a real social dance to put it all together

Vienna Gaels Training: Football, Hurling & Camogie
This is a weekly training session with Vienna Gaels, a Vienna-based Irish GAA club playing Gaelic football and hurling. The session is relaxed, structured, and welcoming, with coaching provided throughout.
Agenda
• Arrive from 5:45 and meet the group
• Warm-up as a full group
• One hour of Gaelic football training and one hour of hurling training
• The order alternates each week
• Wrap-up shortly before 8:00 pm
Who it’s for
• All levels are welcome
• New players are encouraged
• No previous experience of Gaelic sports is needed
• Men’s and ladies teams train on the same night
What to bring
• Sportswear suitable for outdoor training
• Football boots or trainers (astro or moulded studs work best)

No equipment is required to try your first session. We can provide hurleys and helmets if needed.

Training takes place on the pitches beside the Ernst Happel Stadium.

Photo Walk - along the Canal
Join me for a photo walk along the canal :)
We will gather at Spittelau and take a walk along the canal (mostly right bank) until Schwedenplatz.
The event is free of charge but will be limited to max 12 people as it is meant as an opportunity to connect. It is suitable for all regardless of age/level/gear.

Wir begeben uns auf eine Reise in das Goldenen Zeitalter Wiens um 1900. Wir sehen Bilder Klimts aus seiner "Goldenen Phase", den "Kuss", Bilder von Monet, van Gogh, Munch und vielennanderen und lernen über die Zeit um 1900. Du erfährst über Zusammenhänge, Einflüsse, Bedeutungen und bekommst ein noch besseres Gefühl für diese fürbWien so wichtige Zeit. Relaxed bike tour on the Donauinsel at summer solstice
Join us on a relaxed evening bike tour along the Donauinsel to enjoy the sunset in a beautiful setting during the longest day of the year! We start at the bike rental at Copa Beach in Kaisermühlen and ride leisurely towards the eastern end of the Donauinsel. The route takes you past the Kraftwerk Freundau and offers wonderful views of the Danube and the surrounding nature along the way.
We take a break at the end of the Donauinsel to watch the sunset in peace and enjoy the atmosphere. Afterwards, take a relaxed alternative route back to the starting point.
🚴♂️ **Important information:**
* **Pace:** The tour is ridden at a slow, leisurely pace so that everyone can cycle along at a relaxed pace.
* **Route:** The entire route is 100% paved and therefore ideal for all types of bikes.
* **Lights compulsory:** Please bring a working front and rear light for your bike as we will be out and about after sunset.
* **Distance:** 25 km.
* **Duration:** The tour takes approx. 2 hours in total (including a break).

Hi Running fellows,
Whether you’re a walker, new to running, a semi-pro, a marathonist or a sprint star - if you want to start your weekend in an active way and enjoy the outdoors in lovely surroundings with a fun, international and multilingual group of people, you are welcome to join us!
Every Saturday at 9:30 am, we meet, we run, in the magnificent Schönbrunn park, and then we go for breakfast.
Want to discuss politics or the best recipes for banana pancakes? Not a problem. Not feeling social? Tune out with your earbuds - we can talk over breakfast. We are casual. You can be too.
What to expect: Start by meeting Adrian, Ali, Liz, Paul and Sonia on-time at 9:30am outside the Schönbrunn U-Bahn stop (exit Grünbergstraße). (Coordinates: 48.1858130, 16.3200640) From there, we walk to the side park entrance where the “running” part begins. The important thing is that you run at your own pace. Typically, small groups of people will run at the same pace as you, so you never have to walk/run alone :)
We finish one hour later, at about 10:40am, reconvening just inside the Hietzinger Tor exit. (Coordinates: 48.1858825, 16.3032647). From there, we’re off to breakfast!
Breakfast Details: Anker bakery opposite the U4 Hietzing station and depending on the weather, grab something for a picnic in Schönbrunn park, or hang out in the bakery. If you missed us earlier, you can always go there around 10:45.
We are a fun group of runners who don’t take things too seriously. We meet, chat, RUN, stretch, chat, EAT and we hang out over a beer every now and then. It's that easy. Please join us for breakfast after the run! The more the merrier.
Typically we are 10-30 people, as not everyone who comes signs up on meetup.

Social Hike: Moon River
What an experience. After a 10-minute train ride just outside Vienna proper, we'll hit the fields and seek out a small creek heading East, passing two villages and one lovely town famous for its brewery. Low-flying planes hint at the proximity of an airport. Slowly turning into a river, the creek yet leads us in a different direction through thick forests and water preservation areas.

Sugarloaf Mountain Hike (7 miles) and Lunch
Hello everyone! Come join us for a hike around Sugarloaf Mountain. We will meet in the East View parking lot by the picnic benches by 9:00am. Please allow yourself extra time (10 - 15 min) for parking, as it is crowded on the weekends.
Then, we will go on the White Trail until it intersects with the Blue Trail, hop on the Blue Trail until we reach the West View parking lot, and then go on the Green Trail until we reach the summit. We will take a break at the top, enjoy the views, and then head back down the Orange Trail, until we reach our starting point at the East View parking lot. Please see the linked map below. Meet fellows cat lovers, cats, and enjoy the summer weather 🌳🌳🌳
Walking your pet isn’t just for dogs, but cats too! It’s a source of enrichment for them and a great chance for both you and your cat to get some fresh air. This is an opportunity to socialize your cat with people and other cats in a neutral and safe environment.
Feel free to come without your cat (or if you don’t have one) if you just want to socialize and your kitty would rather relax inside 😌❤️
If you do bring a cat, make sure your cat is wearing a collar and has on a harness/leash, is in a cat backpack, a cat carrier, or a cat stroller. Misty and I can’t wait to meet you! Let your cats enjoy the relaxing outdoors.
This is a great opportunity for more beginner cat walkers!
Moving this event to be an hour earlier than typical to try and beat some of the summer heat at the beginning of the day.

C&O Canal at Big Slackwater Hike
The Big Slackwater section of the C&O Canal south of Williamsport, MD was completely closed for more than 20 years because the towpath, squeezed into an incredibly narrow corridor between the Potomac on one side and high cliffs on the other, got flooded out once too often. This section has reopened after a $15 million restoration project that should solve the flooding problem.
Starting from the Canal's Dam #4, we will head upstream and soon reach the inlet lock that marks the lower end of the Big Slackwater section. The next few miles should be both unusually scenic and unusually interesting as we admire the sturdily-rebuilt towpath beneath our feet. We continue past quaint McMahon Mill and Howell Cave (no relation that we know of) to Lock 41, where the Canal as we usually think of it resumes, with a prism and berm as well as the towpath. Total length of our easy stroll is about 8 miles.
Bring beverages, lunch, and about $15 for transportation and trip fees. We'll meet and form carpools from the Grosvenor-Strathmore metro station at 9am. RSVPs close at 8pm the day before to allow for logistical planning.

Walk around Lake Barton in Burke! 5 km (3 mi)
Walk past scenic Lake Barton in Burke Centre. Weave thru parks and quiet woods and past well-kept homes that are so inviting! The spring flowers are especially beautiful this year! Trail featured is 5 km (3.1 miles) and has some elevation gain. After the walk, we can have a drink or lunch at a nearby restaurant.
The walk is $2 for non-members and guests to defray expenses for our sport and $4 for AVA walk credit. Please bring correct change in cash (electronic payment is not possible). Dogs and children are welcome but those under 18 must have a guardian present. Meet walk host Sandy Koontz in front of the Starbucks to register by 8:45 am, so we can leave by 9 am. Energizing Walk for Busy People!
Join our weekly walking meetup to have fun, maintain a healthy lifestyle, meet new people, and enjoy nature! We meet Saturdays at 10am, by the bike racks and benches 150 feet in front of BUBBLES Hair Salon in Reston, leaving no later than 10:05.
Every week we'll walk the Green Trail to Lake Anne Plaza (\~1 mile), pause there for 5-10 minutes (water, bio, and from April-Nov a Farmer's Market), then circle the lake (2 miles) before returning to our starting point. It's roughly 3.5 miles and takes about an hour and a half.
Afterwards, some members will often head to a local restaurant to refuel and relax before tackling the rest of the day.
This event is open to all ages and fitness levels, and both friends and dogs are always welcome! We recommend dressing for the weather (umbrella, water bottle, snow shoes, hat, etc.) since we'll always walk, rain or shine.
