Finding Community: Pathways Out of Loneliness ##### May 14 2026 - July 23 2026 with ***Marco Obermüller*** **6 x Thursday** on 14./05 – 28./05 – 11./06 – 25./06 – 09./07 and 23./07. free event with[ ](https://wearevillage.org/en/shop/einsamkeitserien2/w20-2026/)**[Registration](https://wearevillage.org/en/shop/einsamkeitserien2/w20-2026/)** English for **LGBTQIA**+ In our group work, spaces emerge in which belonging and exchange can be experienced directly. Personal topics are explored together and experiences are shared, making new ways out of isolation tangible. Facilitated exercises, shifts of perspective, and shared reflection foster connectedness, strengthen social effectiveness, and create strategies for sustainable relationships that extend beyond individual sessions. Loneliness can arise when people have few opportunities to experience genuine connection with others. This is where the group comes in, creating spaces in which a sense of belonging can be actively experienced. By working together on personal topics, a social space of resonance emerges that replaces isolation with relationship and contact. Through the structured sharing of experiences, loneliness becomes visible, discussable, and therefore open to change. Through facilitated interaction, shifts in perspective, small experiments in experiencing contact, and shared reflection, participants develop new forms of connectedness and strategies for social effectiveness. The group functions not only as a source of support, but also as a learning environment for shaping relationships. In this way, resilient connections are formed that extend beyond the individual meeting and help to sustainably reduce loneliness. **Belonging versus loneliness: everybody can feel lonely sometimes** As human beings we have a natural longing for social connection and support by others. Due to individual and structural discrimination queer people have an ever higher risk to suffer from chronic loneliness. In cooperation with the **Landesstelle für Gleichbehandlung** – (Berlin State Office for the Equality of Treatment – against Discrimination) **we are village \| queer matters** has set itself the goal to offer some programming on the issue of loneliness in the queer community. ![](https://wearevillage.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/06/image001.jpg)We have also created a **[survey](https://forms.gle/BZkLsma3sRX2vdRb8)** to find out more about your experiences of loneliness. With your help, we can create a better program that meets your needs and with which we can create more togetherness! **This group consists of a maximum of 15 participants with registration.** **Language**: This series will be held in English. This series is open to everyone. Your English should be fluent enough to follow an event in English. **Cost**: free event with registration **Important**: you must commit to all 6 sessions. **Dates**: 14./05 – 28./05 – 11./06 – 25./06 – 09./07 and 23./07.

2 EURO DONATION FEE PER PERSON IS REQUIRED (on site, in cash), to pay back the Meetup subscription fees and support my Events. READ THE DESCRIPTION WITH THE INFO (IMPORTANT). WHATSAPP LINK BELOW 📳 We will visit Stralsund, a wonderful city by the Baltic sea 💒🏘️ 🌊(its old city center is also UNESCO world heritage). We take the RE3 train that stops at Berlin Hbf at 07,43 AM🚉😀 and arrives to Stralsund at 10,51 AM The train does not stop only in Hbf: I attach below the screenshots with the stations and the timetable 🕐 Get on in the station you prefer, but take that train 🚉 The train is a direct train and takeable with DE Ticket 😁 Bring your own food🍔 and drinks🥤. Breaks ⛔: We will take 2 breaks during the day, one in the City Center and one during the Hike at the Devin Halbinsel Plan and info ℹ️: * We arrive at 10,51 at Stralsund * We walk through the city touching places such as Weiße Brücken, Marienkirche, Alter Markt square, Kniepertor, Nordmole and the harbor area * We take the bus at Stralsund, Wasserstraße at 14,10, direction Devin (in the worst case we divide in 2 groups taking 2 different buses) * We Make this Hike of 7.2kms along the Baltic Sea: https://www.komoot.com/tour/2850057845 * We take the bus at 18,05 to come back to Stralsund Hbf * At Stralsund Hbf area we have time to eat/rink something, and then take the train to come back at 19,10 NOTE: the above plan can slightly vary in time (but we should have enough time to be flexible, since we take the train early in the morning) I do not provide a "personal support" for people who do not take the indicated train. You are responsible to check for the weather and decide if come or not. Thanks for understanding. If you have to contact me, make it via Whatsapp, not here on Meetup. WHATSAPP COMMUNITY 💬 to find each other (join it, we use this group to find and synchronize us, as well as post photos) [https://docs.google.com/document/d/157uLVXObKt1a4NqqvPa09NJW-050YBwHLW-7DbOD8R8/](https://docs.google.com/document/d/157uLVXObKt1a4NqqvPa09NJW-050YBwHLW-7DbOD8R8/)
2 day hike: Witches on the Rocks - advanced hike through the Harz; 15+25 km
2 day hike: Witches on the Rocks - advanced hike through the Harz; 15+25 km
Let's do another **two day hike** through the Harz mountains! **Important info - please read it now:** * This is a non-commercial event. You are responsible by yourself to research and book your accommodation in the area. You are bearing the complete risk (bad weather, etc). * After signing up for this event, please immediately research accommodation and book it. When you have booked accommodation, please send me a private message containing the place where you are staying. If I do not get a message within 36 hours of signing up, I need to presume that you are not coming. I will then need to remove you from the participants to make room for other interested people. * We will stay at the village **Schierke.** At the moment, there are still a number of accomodation options, but accomodation is limited. * For transportation, having a Deutschlandticket is certainly the most recommendable and most economical option. * **This is an advanced hike. You should wear proper hiking shoes and have a certain surefootedness. On day 1, we will walk between 15 and 20 km and have to manage an elevation gain of 820 meters. On day 2, we will walk between 21 and 24 km and have to manage an elevation gain of 750 meters. Expect that you need to climb over fallen trees and rocks. At some points, you might need to use your hands to stabilize your steps.** **Itinerary** **Day 1: Saturday, June, 13th** * 07:05 Departure with HBX train from Berlin Hauptbahnhof station (stops also at Ostbahnhof, Alexanderplatz, Friedrichstraße, Hauptbahnhof, Zoo, Wannsee, Potsdam) * 10:17 Arrival at Wernigerode * 10:40 Historic steam train from Wernigerode to Steinerne Renne * 10:58 Start of our hike. We will see the Renneklippen, the Steinerne Renne waterfall, the Waldgasthaus Steinerne Renne, the Ottofels, the Leistenklippe and the Eulenstieg on that day. Optionally, at the end of our hike, if we did not already reach our personal Elendstal (valley of misery), we can walk through the geographical one. * We will arrive at Schierke between 16:00 and 18:00. **Day 2: Sunday, June, 14th** * 9:30 Start of our hike at Schierke. We will walk up the Eckerlochstieg to the peak of the Brocken. At 1141 meters, this is the highest elevation in northern Germany. From there, we will descend north-wards. We will come by the small but many Ilse waterfalls. * After around 21 km, we will reach Ilsenburg, where we can refresh and have dinner. * Depending on our speed or mood, we will take the train back to Berlin at 18:30, 19:30 or 20:30. The train ride back to Berlin takes roughly 3.5 hours. **Accomodation** I cannot give any recommendations on good places to stay. Yet, to facilitate your research, here are a couple of possible places in Schierke: * [Pension zum Hexenstieg](https://www.booking.com/Share-6Tj1KTs) * [Pension Schmidt](https://www.booking.com/Share-seX3l0) * [Gasthaus Brockenhexe](https://www.booking.com/Share-soFsVwa) * [Hotel Brockenscheideck](https://www.booking.com/Share-9nn0BE) There are certainly also more options which are not listed on Booking.com. Feel free to use the comments to search for fellow hikers which might want to share apartments with you. However do not wait too long with booking, as options might go away.
Brandenburger Landpartie - eco farm, hike 8km
Brandenburger Landpartie - eco farm, hike 8km
Brandenburger Landpartie is a weekend where farming yards in Brandenburg open their doors for visitors. They offer food, coffe and cake as well as their own products (fruits, wine, meet, cheese...) for purchase. In most cases there is also entertainment. Its is a very relaxing and rooting experience spending time in this natural environment. We will visit one of this farms, the eco farm Der Hofladen in Biesenthal. Additionaly to the food offer mentioned above we can pick strawberries ourself and have a stroll around the farm and fields. They have also a farm shop with locally produced products like fruits, cheese, juice... After arriving in Rüdnitz we will hike through the fields to the farm. It's already a very scenic way. Spending 2-3 hours at the farm. Then hiking to Biesenthal where we'll catch the train. Total hike 8km. recommended things to bring: water, box for strawberries, coffeemug (last year they were using single use cups), you are also welcome to bring your own food and drinks. Contribution for this event 2€. We will meet **at the station Rüdnitz** (RE 24) at 12:12 pm. The train leaves at Ostkreuz at 11:41 am. I will embark in Hohenschönhausen.

Following the meandering river we traverse the mystical forest, walk on wooden planks through moors and marshes and explore natural habitats and endemic wildlife. On this hike, immerse yourself into nature’s wonder! Have you ever observed the tiny details of the outdoors? Such as the intricate veins on the back of a leaf?
