Welcome to my 1st Open House! Let's stomp 2025 out of our memories and start anew with both new friends and old. If you had a long night the night before and you don't feel like changing out of your (modest) PJ's, come as you are and be comfortable. This will be a *very* informal event in my high-rise apartment. Feel free to pop in anytime between 1 PM-5 PM. If you wish to bring a plate of cookies, or snack to add to the table, that would be fine. NOTE: I do share my apartment with two cats, so if you are allergic, this might not be the place for you. You will no doubt only see one of them, as she likes to be the center of attention. My apartment is located a mile from the Yellow Metro Line, and there is a bus that stops right outside the complex. If driving, there is ample free parking in any UN-NUMBERED spots. More information about the logistics will be emailed a few days prior to the event, along with my address and phone number.

Hey ASL Friends! Yes, we are really meeting on New Year - our first meeting on the very first day of the year! WHOOO! So mark your calendar and don’t pretend you forgot. Our next ASL hangout is on Thursday, January 1 at 3 PM. Please note: Tysons Corner will close at 7 PM, so we’ll gather starting at 3 PM and hang out until they kick us out. We are the Federal Center Toastmasters Club. We meet the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Thursday of each month in Hyattsville, MD, from 12 noon to 1pm. Our meetings are held at the headquarters of the CDC’s National Center for Health Statistics of the CDC. Our meetings are open to the public, though visitors must go through building security procedures. The total tour distance is some 20 miles but you can cut it short if needed. 94% of the ride is on paved bike paths and flat terrain. At the halfway point, we will provide snacks, hot tea, and cider. You can even bring your own picnic. Various monuments can be seen during this route (the Capitol, the municipal Fish Market, the White House, the Lincoln Memorial, the Nationals ballpark stadium, the Titanic memorial, and the new Frederick Douglas bridge). We hope to see you. **SIDE NOTE:** New members are welcome to ALL our Friday night wine tastings, but this night is a special overture to those who don't want to feel that they are the only new person in the room.
