Burgundy is the most famous, most terroir-specific, and most expensive wine region in the world for Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Top wines can cost hundreds of pounds a bottle, but for ordinary wine lovers without a hedge fund to lean on there are sources of delicious, quality wines to be found. 'Affordable' Burgundy does exist! The tasting will start off with 2 bottles of Cremant de Bourgogne, sparkling wine made in the traditional method, Then we'll taste 4 whites and 4 reds from all the main sub-regions of Burgundy - Chablis, Cote D'or, Cote Chalonaise and Macon. Numbers will be limited to 12 people seated round one table, so almost a bottle of fine wine per person. During the tasting a selection of fine cheeses, pates, and other food will be served. **WAITLIST:** If the event is fully booked and you would like to join the ‘waitlist’, post a comment to let me know **REFUNDS:** The 'ticket price' for this event is £38 including £3 for paypal/meetup fees. Every year we host a tasting to try German wines from the new vintage, with a focus on Riesling. Our host is Phil Bernstein, General Manager of MacArthur Beverages, one of the leading retailers of German Riesling in the country. Every year, Phil brings some of the best wines of the vintage. The new vintage is 2024, another in an increasing string of very good vintages, though regrettably the first to be carrying the increase in wine tariffs.
