DeafPlus Advocate is hosting our monthly ASL Social event in the DMV. Join us and enjoy food, drink, and ASL conversation for all levels. If you are Deaf/hearing, interested in socializing, or looking for practice with your American Sign Language (ASL), join us! All ASL levels are welcome! We will host ASL Social on Saturday, January 17th, at the Settle Down Easy – Tasting Room Oakton from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM. Dulles Town Center Mall Hike: Meet at the entrance to the right of the Regal Movie Theater. A Test of Endurance Join us for a 6-mile trek through the treacherous terrain of Dulles Town Center mall. This hike is rated as physically easy, but don't be fooled - the mental challenges will push even the most seasoned hikers to their limits. Hazards Include: The intoxicating aroma of freshly baked Cinnabon, threatening to derail even the most disciplined of diets. Endless rows of high-end storefronts, beckoning you to indulge in some serious retail therapy. Balmy 70-degree temperatures, lulling you into a false sense of comfort. Blinding fluorescent lights, capable of disorienting even the most experienced navigator. Will You Emerge Victorious? Afterwards we'll head over to The Bungalow Lake house 46116 Lake Center Plaza, Sterling, VA 20165 for their delicious brunch cuisine.

Run starts promptly at 9:45 am and follows a 1.5 mile loop around the lake. Do however many loops you like! Run at your own pace. After the run, we'll meet at the Brew House for a beer or coffee and BREAKFAST pretzels! Those cannot be anything but delicious. See you there.

Let's try this again! Join us as we gather on a January Sunday at one of our old favorites, Fleetwood Farm Winery. This time I am sure that they will be open... Let's get toasty in front of their roaring stone fireplace in the main tasting room. They have a good selection of red and white Virginia wines, many that have been produced exclusively for them. The grounds are designed to be an escape from the Northern Virginia hustle bustle without the long drive. Outside food is not permitted but they have a full menu of flatbreads, Charcuterie boards, wings, sliders, etc. We will not go hungry!

Join us for a fun afternoon where *you* get to play winemaker at the B.Y.O.W. (Blend Your Own Wine) Party at 8 Chains North Winery! Learn how to make your own red wine blend from a selection of 8 Chains North 2022 Virginia varietals. This is a hands-on event. Owner, Edz Sturans, will guide you through a tasting of the different grape varietals they grow and have an interactive discussion about their flavor profiles. You’ll learn blending techniques, as well as strategies for crafting a well-balanced wine.
