Dublin Independent Movie Lovers: Sound of Falling & Auntie Mame
Hi, all Independent Movie Lovers.
You are invited meet at 7 pm, on Friday the 20th of March. This meeting is at the Café on the ground floor of the Light House Cinema, Smithfield Square, Dublin.
We will discuss the film:
**Sound of Falling** (2025), directed by Mascha Schilinski. The original German title is 'In die Sonne schauen'. The film chronicles events at a remote German farm in four time periods.
We will also discuss:
**Auntie Mame** (1958), directed by Morton DaCosta. Auntie Mame is an adaptation of a successful 1956 Broadway play of the same name, and stars Rosalind Russell, who also starred in the stage version. This is the 1958 movie, not the 1974 musical movie called 'Mame'.
We will watch the movies independently, and meet for discussion on Friday the 20th of March, at 7 pm, at the Café on the ground floor of the Light House Cinema, Smithfield Square.
**Sound of Falling** is showing at Light House Cinema Smithfield, and at the IFI Eustace St, until Thursday the 12th of March.
**Auntie Mame** is currently available free on YouTube at
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dl5S8vXNyiI
Take the opportunity while it lasts. It is available for online rental on Sky Store and Prime Video, and, oddly enough, on YouTube.

Ciorcal Comhrá sa chlub, beginners welcome!
Dear fellow Gaeilgeoiri,
Cead mile failte / a warm welcome to this group of Irish language lovers and enthusiasts. Hope you will enjoy everything it has to offer and feel free to suggest new events, and, why not step in as an event organizer?
What this group is not:
- A group limited to those with perfect proficiency in the language, where any single word of English is banned, and where you will get corrected for every séimhiú that, God forbid, you might be forgetting
What this group is:
- A forum of Gaeilge enthusiasts willing to share their interest and love of the language. We all started learning a language, including our own, from scratch at some point in our lives. Absolute beginners are welcome and should not feel intimidated. Near perfect and native Irish speakers are also welcome to share their vast knowledge of the language. Hopefully this will create a thriving community of lovers of the language at any level.

The Dawson Chorus presents a varied array of pop music sung by an 85-person, 4-part choir in St Ann's Church, Dawson St. The choir is non-audition, non-religious, singing popular music and about sharing the joy of music.
In November 2024 we had our first ever public performance on the balcony of Bewley's Café on Grafton St. Since then we have performed at many locations around the city including Leinster House, The Unitarian Church, The Royal College of Physicians and our first concert at St. Ann's Church on Dawson St.
This fun-loving pop choir will perform hits from the 70s to today including music from Coldplay, The Cranberries, Pink, Madonna and many more!
🕰 **Meeting time**: 7:15pm inside the church (I advise getting there earlier to grab a good seat!). Concert starts at 7:30pm.

Awaken Your Body: A Dance Workshop for Women
This Saturday, we will move a little differently. Not to perform but to come back to our most **light** and **joyful** selves through a **playful** and **energising** choreography inspired by house dance. In this session, you’ll be guided to **reconnect with your body**, your rhythm, and your natural sense of joy.
Expect moments of fun, **bursts of energy**, and that feeling of being fully present in your body, the kind that stays with you long after the class ends.
We’ll be dancing to *No Broke Boys* by Disco Lines and Tinashe. **Wear** something that makes you feel good: **flowy, fun, or a little bold**.
Supportive runners are recommended, as we’ll have some jumps (with low-impact options available).
And as always, whoever feels like it, we stay a little longer chatting, connecting, sometimes sharing a meal, because **this is more than a dance class.**
This space is for you if:
– you want to connect with others through fun and joy
– you crave movement and laughter
– you’re ready to reconnect with your feminine energy in a light and real way.
**No dance experience needed**. Just come as you are.
**Location:** The Liffey Trust Studios
**Date:** 21/03/2026
**Time:** 11:00
