Celebrate International Womenâs Day: Wales - Pen Y Fan
Celebrate International Womenâs Day in South Wales \| Pen y Fan Day Hike
Yes! We are off to South Wales - and what better way to celebrate International Womenâs Day the outdoors than with fresh air, big Welsh views, good company, and that deeply satisfying end-of-day tired you only get from a great hike. Register your interest ASAP.
This is a classic Pen y Fan day hike, designed to be challenging but achievable, with a relaxed pace and a supportive, uplifting group. No sunrise alarms. No pressure. Just a brilliant weekend escape, starting in Cardiff and heading into the Brecon Beacons together.
Why this hike?
Because International Womenâs Day is more than a date - itâs a reminder to take space, feel strong, and celebrate ourselves. On this weekend, weâll walk, connect, and create memories in the mountains together.
The plan:
Night 1 â Travel to Cardiff & Welcome Dinner
* Meet in London (Paddington) and travel together to Cardiff (\~2 hours by train) PLUS Take a short bus journey to the start of the hike in the Brecon Beacons (\~40 minutes from Cardiff)
* Enjoy a welcome dinner and kick off the weekend in style
* Check into your hotel and settle in for the night
Day 2 â Hike Day
* Hike Pen y Fan: wide paths, steady climbs, stunning views, and plenty of breaks
* Celebrate the achievement at the summit and along the trail
* Optional post-hike social / small party to toast the adventure
Day 3 â Cardiff & Explore
* Return to Cardiff
* Explore the cityâs arches and streets
* Enjoy a lunch together before heading back to London
March is for women, mountains, and memories â letâs make it count!
Who is this for?
* Women who enjoy walking and want a step up from flat routes
* Anyone reasonably fit who can manage a full day outdoors
* You donât need to be a âproper hikerâ â just open to a challenge and the group pace
This is not a race. Weâll walk together, regroup often, and support each other along the way.
What to bring
* Hiking boots (essential)
* Warm layers + waterproof jacket
* Lunch, snacks & water
* Small backpack
* Positive attitude (and maybe a post-hike pub plan)
Guiding & organising fee:
A ÂŁ50 guiding & organising fee per person ensures:
* Smooth logistics and safe travel
* Group coordination and pacing
* Pre-hike info, kit list, and transport guidance
* Leadership and support on the day
Estimated costs - around ÂŁ250 depending on travel & accommodation choices.
**Register your interest ASAP**!
This is a small-group weekend â spots are limited to keep it supportive, safe, and fun. Register your interest now to secure your place and receive full travel, accommodation, and itinerary details.

âŞď¸Offline Women Ramadan Iftar
Join the Offline Women for a screen-free Ramadan Iftar. An evening to disconnect from the digital world and connect with other women in the beauty of presence, gratitude, and community.
Faith is a big part of who I am. It is the heartbeat of my life and the true motivation that keeps me running this community.
This gathering takes place during Ramadan, a holy month of fasting, reflection and community. Iftar is the meal at sunset that signifies âbreaking the fast.â
The beauty of this tradition lies in the shared experience of that first bite. Fasting allows us to enter the space with a collective sense of discipline and gratitude which is why we highly encourage you to hold the Islamic fast on the day of this Iftar.
On this date, the fast starts at 04:42 AM and ends at 05:51 PM. Here's a guide if you don't know the rules of the Ramadan fast: [Fasting during Ramadan explained | Omar Suleiman and Lex Fridman](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MiyRLRhXqwM)
In keeping the Islamic tradition, where the host finds great blessing in feeding their guests, the cost of the meal is fully covered. For those of us who pray, the restaurant also provides a dedicated prayer space on-site so we can fulfil our prayers comfortably.
Like in all of our gatherings we will leave our phones tucked away to enjoy a low-key, friendly atmosphere. By putting down our screens, we create the space to simply be present with one another and share in the meaningful experience of breaking bread together.
Spots are limited to ensure the group remains small, intimate, and everyone has a great time connecting face-to-face.
Women's Circle: Self Love & Inner Safety
Ticket is needed in order to attend this event:

## Overview
Are you longing for deeper connections with other women who are on a path of self-discovery and growth? Join us for a women's circle!
Join us for a gentle and nurturing **Womenâs Circle:** a sacred, heart-led space for women who want to go deeper. Every month, we gather to explore themes around **spirituality, feminine embodiment, self-discovery and personal growth**.
Each circle centers around a unique topic: from **feminine energy, intuition, boundaries**, and **embodiment** to **self-worth, healing** or **emotional expression** but the intention remains the same:
đ To create a space for authentic connection, inner reflection, and collective wisdom
đ To be seen, heard and held without judgment or pressure to be anything but yourself
đ **This Monthâs Theme: Self-love and Inner Safety**
On Womenâs Day, we gather not just to celebrate being women â but to deepen the relationship we have with ourselves.
Self-love is often spoken about as confidence, affirmations or self-care rituals. But beneath all of that lies something more essential: inner safety.
When we donât feel safe within ourselves, we look for security in other peopleâs reassurance, approval or presence. We may overgive, overthink, or abandon our needs in order to feel connected.
In this circle, weâll gently explore what it means to become your own secure base â to create stability, reassurance and emotional grounding from within.
Weâll reflect on:
* Where we still seek safety externally
* How self-abandonment shows up in subtle ways
* What inner security feels like in the body
* How to strengthen self-trust and emotional steadiness
Through meditation, journaling and conscious sharing, weâll begin practicing a different way of relating to ourselves â one rooted in compassion rather than criticism, and steadiness rather than fear.
### ⨠What to Expect:
* A grounding **meditation & breathwork** to help you arrive in the moment
* A short **introduction to the theme** of the circle
* **Mindful exercises** to reflect, feel and reconnect
* A **safe, supportive sharing circle**
* A closing **visualisation, affirmation & oracle cards**
* Warm, soul-led connection with other women walking the path of self-discovery
* Optional social afterwards where you can continue connection with others
### đ Why this Circle was Born:
âI created this circle because I craved **soulful, nourishing connection** with other women: spaces where we could go deeper than small talk and share from the heart. If you feel that same longing: for truth, presence, sisterhood, then this circle is for you.â
### đ¸ Why Womenâs Circles Matter:
Female connection is not just emotionally enrichingâitâs also *biologically essential*. Research shows that when women gather in safe, supportive spaces, they release **oxytocin**âthe bonding hormoneâwhich helps lower stress, build trust, and boost emotional resilience.
Strong female friendships and emotional expression are linked to:
* Reduced anxiety and depression
* Better heart and immune health
* A longer, more joyful life
In times of stress, women are wired for a â**tend-and-befriend**â response, **we heal in connection**.
đ **WHERE:** Blackwell House, King's Square Community Centre
### đŤ What to Bring:
* An open heart
* A journal & pen
Letâs sit together, soften, and reconnect with our inner powerâ**not through doing, but through being.**

**About me:**
Aga is a **yoga teacher and transformational life coach** devoted to guiding others on the journey from overwhelm to inner peace. Her work supports those with busy, overthinking minds in **creating calm, clarity and confidence:** one breath, one choice, one breakthrough at a time.
With her North Node in Scorpio, Aga's soul mission is **all about transformation: letting go of control, trusting the unknown and living from deep inner truth rather than external expectations.** After leaving behind a structured corporate path, she committed to creating a life led by intuition, embodiment and spiritual growth. Her journey has taught her to embrace change, follow the soulâs whispers and live from a place of empowered surrender.
Through her womenâs circles, Aroma Yoga sessions and coaching, Aga now holds space for others to do the same: to remember who they truly are, reconnect with their inner power, and create lives rooted in **freedom, authenticity and feminine wisdom.**
Free Chess Lessons for Mothers/Women - Celebrating Women's Day
Chess is often described as a universal language. Yet, for many women and girls, access to that language has historically been limited due to a range of factors, including societal expectations around the role of women, the value placed on their time and hobbies compared to family and work responsibilities, and broader barriers linked to education, employment, and social opportunity.
The **London Women Chess Club (LWCC)** was founded to change that.
We are a non-profit organisation, awarded by the English Chess Federation (ECF), a community-led chess club dedicated to **empowering all women and girls through chess**, not only by teaching the game, but by creating a safe, supportive environment where confidence, learning, and ambition can grow side by side.
**Why the London Women Chess Club exists**
Despite chess being open to all, women still make up a small minority of players in clubs, tournaments, and leadership roles. Many women tell us they feel intimidated joining mixed clubs, unsure of their level, or hesitant to play competitively, even when they have talent and passion.
LWCC was created to address this gap.
Our mission is simple: to **increase participation, confidence, and representation of women in chess**, from beginners to competitive players.
**What we do**
London Women Chess Club runs regular chess sessions, social play, training, and tournaments across London. Our activities are designed to be welcoming, structured, and encouraging, whether someone is touching the board for the first time or preparing for league and rated play.
We focus on:
Learning without pressure
Progress at your own pace
Building confidence through experience
Creating a sense of belonging
Supporting women to step into competitive chess
We also collaborate with libraries, community centres, and chess organisations to ensure chess remains **accessible, inclusive, and rooted in the community**.
**More than just a chess club**
LWCC is not only about moves and results. It is about:
¡ Personal growth
¡ Mental resilience
¡ Leadership and volunteering
¡ Mentorship and peer support
¡ Representation in sports and mind games
Many of our members arrive unsure of themselves, and leave feeling empowered to play matches, enter tournaments, volunteer, arbitrate, organise, and lead.
That transformation is at the heart of everything we do.
**Looking ahead**
¡ As the club continues to grow, we are actively developing:
¡ New partnerships
¡ More competitive opportunities for women
¡ Volunteer and leadership roles
¡ Sustainable funding and community support
We welcome collaboration with individuals, organisations, councils, and sponsors who believe in **equality of opportunity, community sport, and the power of chess as a tool for empowerment**.
**If you are interested in womenâs chess, community sport, volunteering, or partnership opportunities, weâd love to connect.**
Together, we are building a stronger, more confident future for women in chess.
âď¸ LWCC is committed to creating a welcoming, respectful environment for all women and girls, in line with equality and safeguarding principles.

## The Next Chapter Room
The Next Chapter Room is a gathering for women who feel something shifting in their lives.
You may not have all the answers yet.
You just know you canât keep going the way youâve been going.
Maybe youâre:
⢠Rebuilding after separation
⢠Rethinking your career
⢠Growing something of your own
⢠Feeling burnt out
⢠Carrying more than anyone sees
⢠Standing at a decision point

⢠Regulate your nervous system
⢠Get clear on whatâs actually changing
⢠Untangle pressure from truth

Itâs not surface-level networking.
Itâs practical, contained work in a small room of women who are ready to move into their next chapter consciously.
If you feel the shift, youâre ready.
Before booking, I ask everyone one question:
What feels like itâs shifting in your life right now?â

Book summary:
Adunni is a fourteen-year-old Nigerian girl who knows what she wants: an education. This, her mother has told her, is the only way to get a "louding voice" -- the ability to speak for herself and decide her own future. But instead, Adunni's father sells her to be the third wife of a local man who is eager for her to bear him a son and heir. When Adunni runs away to the city, hoping to make a better life, she finds that the only other option before her is servitude to a wealthy family. As a yielding daughter, a subservient wife, and a powerless slave, Adunni is told, by words and deeds, that she is nothing. But while misfortunes might muffle her voice for a time, they cannot mute it. And when she realizes that she must stand up not only for herself, but for other girls, for the ones who came before her and were lost, and for the next girls, who will inevitably follow, she finds the resolve to speak, however she can--in a whisper, in song, in broken English--until she is heard
