LSLab Berlin 10.1: How do we collaborate when there are differences?
LSLab Berlin 10.1: How do we collaborate when there are differences?
### **We are excited to be kicking off our first LSLab Berlin at DKB CodeFactory!** ## **Our Theme: How do we collaborate & unite when there are differences?** We all work with groups and teams of people these days to accomplish our goals. No one works alone. Sometimes there is great collaboration, and sometimes, it just doesn't work. Maybe there are conflicting goals, roles, timelines, or culture clashes. Sometimes it's obvious, and sometimes it isn't. We want to explore in as many ways as possible, using Liberating Structures, what can we do about creating better ways of working together? What are some things that have worked (or not!), to bring better collaboration to the work you do (and the team you do it with)? ## **Our Host** We’re thrilled to return to **DKB,** and excited to see a new space: The CodeFactory. ## **Important Notes** **āœ”ļø About the format** Each event includes Networking & Connecting, Giving and Getting Help and Action Planning. We don’t debrief during the session — on purpose. LSLab is a practice space that mirrors real-work application: learning through doing, engaging, and experimenting. Questions are welcome during the break and after the close. **āœ”ļø New to Liberating Structures? Totally fine.** You don’t need any prior experience. We’re a community of practitioners at all levels — beginners, experienced facilitators, agilists, OD/L&D folks, and people simply looking for better ways to help humans collaborate. You’ll learn by participating, not by being taught. \*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\* ### **A Volunteer-Run Community (Just Me Behind the Scenes)** LSLab Berlin is a fully volunteer-run meet-up, organized and hosted by me (Sylvia Taylor). Your donations help cover the essentials that keep this event accessible for everyone: * the meet-up platform * the behind-the-scenes coordination * design team mentoring and support * and the time and expertise it takes to create each session If you’d like to help keep the events free and open to all, you can donate here: šŸ‘‰ **[buymeacoffee.com/lslabberlin](buymeacoffee.com/lslabberlin)** Thank you! \*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\* *The* *introduction and instructions are in English, but group or pair work can be done in whatever language you and your group/partner need!* \*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*

Productive Sunday Morning - Co-Working Session (Deep Work, all work welcome)
Productive Sunday Morning - Co-Working Session (Deep Work, all work welcome)
Hey everyone! I’m organising a co-working + socialising session for all of us who like to work on something (e.g. our own project, freelance or remote work) but don't feel like sitting alone at home. šŸ™‚ To ensure that we have both **socialising** AND **working**, we will be using the so called ā€œPomodoroā€ technique: **50min of deep work** (silent), followed by **10min of break** to socialise. Then repeat! If you get into flow, you're also welcome to skip the breaks. It’s an effective way to stay focused - you can read more about it [here](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pomodoro_Technique). Anyone from any background is welcome, whatever project you are working on or whatever is your personal background. I (the host) speak English and German, so either is fine :-) ——————————————————- AGENDA: * **15min Intro** * Get to know everyone, talk about what you will work on today * **Pomodoro Session** (3x) - *Each Pomodoro session consists* *of...* * ...**50min** of uninterrupted ā€œdeep workā€ (no talking, no interruptions, no phones) * ...**10min** of break: share your progress with others, talk about what you are stuck on etc. * Repeat * Conclude and celebrate your progress Share your progress, socialise and get to know others 😊 ———— We'll be at the Social Hub Berlin (they have a food menu in case you get hungry). The structured part will end at 2:30pm, but you're welcome to stay longer, go for lunch together, or leave earlier. See you there 🩵 **\*\*We'll reserve the long table. Please update your RSVP in advance if you can't attend!\*\***

Networking & Language Exchange -šŸ–internationalšŸ»
Networking & Language Exchange -šŸ–internationalšŸ»
This is a 3 phase meetup. You can come at any time. 1.) 6:30 - 6:45 p.m.: Gathering at the meeting spot (see gmaps link!) 2.) 6:45 - 7:15 p.m.: Walk & Talk to the Kerb food court. 3.) 7:15 - 10:00 p.m.: Immerse conversations in the Kerb food court. šŸŖ‘: Reserved tables for the meetup. **1.) Meeting spot is inside the Berlin Mall (near Hugo Boss)** Click on the map or just copy this link into your browser: [https://goo.gl/maps/oVPKSY7X1YmAVkvv8](https://goo.gl/maps/oVPKSY7X1YmAVkvv8) The exact meeting spot can also be seen in the photo depicted below (see red arrow). Look for a meetup sign or organizer wearing a black or red lanyard with "staff" written on it. ***Best ways to get there:*** 1\. U\-Bahn \(subway\): Get off at Anton-Wilhelm-Amo-Straße (former Mohrenstraße) via U2 and just walk 3 min to the mall. 2\. Bus: If you change at main station you can take the M41 or M85 to S Potsdamer Platz /Voßstr. and walk to the mall. **2.) Walk & Talk to the Kerb food court** The best part of this Meetup! Most of the walk will consist a underground route all the way to the Kerb. *Who is this meetup for:* 1\. Internationals who want to practice German or any other language\. 2\. Germans who want to improve their language skills\. 3\. Anyone who is interested in cultural exchange and wants to socialize\. *What you can expect:* 1\. A professionally organized meetup that can adapt to any changes given the current situation\. 2\. A Walk & Talk to break the ice\. 3\. A collaborating venue where you can further socialize with other members\. *important:* This event is at the same time and meeting location like the "Asian Languages & Culture Exchange šŸœę—„ęœ¬čŖž, ķ•œźµģ–“, 걉čÆšŸ„" one. So I'm basically organizing 2 events at the same time which means that you can expect way more people than on the list. *** Whenever you attend a meetup, the most common as well as first question you get is: "Where are you from?" You probably heard this question a million times. Well, at least I did. From my own experience of attending over 200 international meetups in various countries such as Germany, Japan, Australia and Thailand, I can tell you that asking for the name is a better approach. ā€œA person’s name is to that person, the sweetest, most important sound in any language.ā€ - Dale Carnegie If you really want to connect with like-minded people you should remember their name, but you don't have to remember every persons name you've talked you. Be picky about that, don't be me who can somehow remember everyones name easily. Don't tell yourself sth. like "I'm bad at remembering names." It's all about developing the habit of asking for a name and keep the conversation going on. Furthermore, you want to learn German or any other language. Learning the local language is crucial to connect with the locals and developing a true friendship. This can be accomplished with immersion. My goal is to inspire you to go out of your comfort zone and improve yourself each time you join this meetup.

BREAK DANCE x HIIT Work Out - ALL LEVELS!!!
BREAK DANCE x HIIT Work Out - ALL LEVELS!!!
**Combining a variety of TopRock break dance moves in the format of HIIT training, this class will be like no other you have taken! Specifically created with non-break dancers in mind, this class is fun, engaging and totally beginner friendly!** šŸ¤øā€ā™€ļø *What exactly is TopRock you might be asking?* Toprock is the **standup part of breakdance**. When break-dancers are showing their skills, they will often start with toprock. Beginners often find toprock to be easier than other elements of [breaking](http://%5Bhttps//www.mygrooveguide.com/dance-info/breaking/what-is-breaking%5D(https://www.mygrooveguide.com/dance-info/breaking/what-is-breaking) "breaking"), because it is done standing up. So this will be a great introduction to breaking for beginners or those wishing to expand their breakdance skills. **Taught by 3x Breakdance World Champion and Choreographer of Flying Dreams show at Wintergarten, Bboy Lou.Ease of the Flying Steps! He has also worked with contemporary dance companies such as Akram Khan Company, Wang Ramirez and Constanza Marcras / Dorkypark.** **šŸ“‹ Agenda:** * *Check in will begin 15 minutes prior to class*. Please arrive on time to ensure class starts at the designated time. **šŸ’ø Cost**: USC, WellPass and ClassPass members can scan in, otherwise there is a donation requested of 5€ to help with maintaining the venue and group maintenance costs. **šŸ‘‰ Other Things to Note:** * *Class will be in English/German* * *Please make sure to wear comfortable clothes you can move and sweat in. Shoes should also be comfortable, although they are not mandatory. Feel free to dance barefoot or in socks if you like.* * *Bring a water bottle to refresh between sequence breaks.* * *Changing room/clothes storage and toilets provided on site free of charge.* * ***If you RSVP and are unable to make it, please be considerate and cancel 24 hours in advance to make space for someone else.***
Chitta Walks - Awareness in Motion
Chitta Walks - Awareness in Motion
Chitta Walks is for people whose days move fast, while the mind never fully lands. Thoughts keep looping even when nothing is urgent. The body moves, but attention is elsewhere. Over time, this disconnect drains clarity and ease. This walk is a simple reset. We meet in Berlin’s Tiergarten and walk at a gentle pace. Parts of the walk are in silence, with light guidance and a few short prompts. The walk itself is the practice, bringing body and mind back into the same moment. No apps. No performance. Just a clear space to slow down and notice what is happening. If you want to slow down without withdrawing from life, join a Chitta Walk. ✨ **What to expect (approx. 90 minutes):** * A short arrival and orientation * A guided silent walk (phones off, no conversation) * One concise science-based impulse on attention or stress * Optional reflection in pairs or small groups * A simple takeaway or experiment for daily life 🚶**Who this is for:** * Professionals, creatives, and people in transition. * People who feel mentally busy and want more clarity and balance. * Those curious about mindfulness, but grounded and practical. * Anyone comfortable with silence and gentle self observation. šŸ”” **Practical notes:** * Duration: 60-90 minutes * Wear comfortable shoes and weather-appropriate clothing * No prior experience needed * Group size is limited to keep the space quiet and focused 🧭 **Facilitator:** My name is Partha Sarathi, you can call me PS. I have lived in Berlin for over 12 years. With a background in physics and materials science, my interest in mindfulness grew through personal experience with stress and health challenges. I facilitate the space and structure of the walk, inviting shared exploration rather than instruction. šŸ¤” **Why Chitta Walks?** Chitta is a Sanskrit word referring to the mind or field of awareness, used here in a practical, non-religious sense. Chitta Walks is about noticing how the mind works by slowing down and walking together. Mindful walking makes thought patterns visible in real time, while moving and sensing in the world. The name points to a simple capacity: noticing what is happening in the mind without immediately trying to fix, judge, or optimize it. 🌿 **Possible effects:** A calmer nervous system. Clearer attention. A felt sense of being more present in your body. Subtle insights into how your mind reacts under everyday conditions. A quieter, more grounded way of moving through the city. **Come as you are. Walk. Notice. Leave with a little more space inside.**

Data & Analytics Wednesday - Compensation Data
Data & Analytics Wednesday - Compensation Data
**People Analytics 101: Making Sense of Compensation Data** Compensation data is one of the most widely used and widely misunderstood forms of people analytics. The session will cover where compensation data comes from, including market pricing data, internal payroll data, and benchmarking sources, and how companies think about structuring and analyzing that information. We will explore how compensation data is leveraged to set salary ranges, manage internal equity, support hiring and retention, and align pay with business strategy. A portion of the session will address common data challenges and limitations, such as market noise, inconsistent job matching, and incomplete datasets, while keeping the primary focus on practical use rather than technical depth. The session will also look ahead at where the space is going, including the growing impact of pay transparency laws, expanding pay equity requirements, and emerging regulations in the US and Europe that require organizations to report on gender and pay gaps. The goal is to give attendees a clear mental model for how compensation analytics works today and why getting it right is becoming increasingly critical. (note: we are back at Rev1 this month!) **About Our Speaker** [Alex Moore](https://www.linkedin.com/in/alexscottmoore/) is the founder of [Moore Cooperative](https://moorecooperative.com/), where he advises organizations on compensation strategy, pay equity, and people analytics. His work focuses on helping organizations like the Ohio Supreme Court design, analyze, and communicate compensation systems that are data-informed, defensible, and aligned with organizational goals. Alex lives in Granville, Ohio and has three little kiddos. More info at [cbusdaw.com](https://cbusdaw.com)

Free In-Person Meeting: Get Over Losses & Betrayals, Build Lasting Relationships
Free In-Person Meeting: Get Over Losses & Betrayals, Build Lasting Relationships
This is a free, in-person meeting on the subject of betrayals, losses and how to get over them so you can build lasting relationships. Burdened by a stressful relationship? Unhealthy relationships can trigger feelings of anger, despair or self-doubt. They can create dwindling spirals of fights and seeking to make-up, or trying to ā€œpin the blameā€ on someone or something. If you don’t find the RIGHT reasons, or select the correct sources of the problem, the problem can just get worse and worse. Whether in love or personal ties, with friends or at work, our life really IS affected by the quality of our relationships. Good ones can promote pleasure and survival while less optimum ones can lead to annoyance, anger, self-doubt, stress, or even affect our health and ability to survive well. Whether you are suffering from a divorce, or a painful break-up, don’t know who to trust (or who to CHOOSE) as a partner, friend, boss or employee - the anxiety of relationship troubles can really make a mess of things. Maybe you’ve suffered a betrayal, or are dealing with hostility or criticalness or invalidation. Dwindling relationships can involve destructive behavior, where we hurt those we love, or start succumbing to self-destructive thoughts, attitudes or behaviors that spiral out of control and affect much more than our immediate relationship. Past losses in love or life can affect how we act or react to new people and situations and hold us back from even starting to create new, possibly great relationships! How can one get back onto a saner course of action? Come to our Meetup, where we can introduce you to some of the knowledge, tools and techniques of the breakthroughs in the field of the mind that we can apply to this ever important area of life: human relationships! Break free from self imposed limitations Here we will discuss: • How to ā€œeraseā€ the trauma of past hurts and betrayals so that one isn’t always repeating past mistakes. • Why and how do the negative emotions of others affect you? • Why is my partner withdrawing and what can I do about it? • Why do we sometimes feel compelled to hurt the ones we love? • Fights & arguments - what's really behind them? • What underlies ā€œcorrosive criticismā€ or the need to invalidate self or others? • How one can stably change one’s outlook on life so they can affect positive change? • Where do compulsive destructive behaviors come from and what can be done about them? • How to form closer bonds & keep growing the relationships with the people you care about? • How to enhance one’s own ability to survive and create positive healthy relationships whether in love, family & friendships or in work, business or one’s career? Relationships can be hard and life itself IS challenging. Why not arm yourself with the knowledge and breakthroughs that have been made about the mind, mental reactions & interpersonal relationships, so that one has better awareness and control over themselves and life in general. Learn where painful experiences are ā€œstoredā€ and how they can unknowingly affect us. You will also find out how one can ā€œeraseā€ those past painful experiences so that one is free to move forward without being tripped up by the past. Learn too, about what can lead some people to become ā€œtoxicā€ personalities and how to identify those traits in others so you won’t be tripped up trusting the wrong person. Our free Meet-ups occur in a safe environment where one can learn, without fear of judgment or criticism, and without the recommendation of harmful mental techniques or therapies, just how YOU can get yourself onto a happier & more successful path: in love & in life. We look forward to having you join us! This class is sponsored by the Dianetics & Scientology Life Improvement Center of Central Ohio.
