**Welcome to UK Mafia!** **🕵️‍♂️ What is Mafia?** Play the game that 'Traitors' is based upon! Mafia is a 10-player social game, competitive, easy to learn, and played at multiple tables. Each player gets a secret role and works with their team to win. Games last about 45 minutes, so we play many during the day. The **Mafia team** tries to hide and eliminate the **Citizens**, while the **Citizens** try to find the Mafia through deduction and logic. We always have first-time players and explain everything. No experience needed. While this is a beginner-friendly game, we also host tournaments and online events with players from around the world. Sunday rehearsal with Castellers of London. Meet us at the OBC Community Centre to help build human towers! This get together is a great opportunity for you to meet new friends, socialise and have a go and explore your abilities as a human tower builder a.k.a Casteller! For newcomers we have a team of trained Castellers who will introduce you to the group, guide you through the activity and help you safely take part in this unique Catalan tradition. When you arrive just approach us as we are really friendly! If in doubt ask for Cuss! Please let us know if you are bringing guests. After the rehearsal we go to a nearby pub for social drinks where everyone is welcome :) What do you need? 1. Ideally a cotton shirt: to protect your neck and shoulders, the more durable the shirt/top the better. We do not recommend any thin items of clothing! 2. Jeans: allowing you to move freely without breaking. 3. Mask: We still require the use of a mask as you will be very close to your fellow Castellers - basically you will be hugging people! The rest of the equipment is on us! We take health and safety very seriously, both in relation to COVID-19 and also the activity- please be assured that the safety of all participants is of the utmost importance to us and we take all necessary precautions to minimize the risk, ensuring we all have a great time! Our regular members won't be filling in the Meet Up to say they are going 🙂 So don't be put off if you see only a handful have said they are going. A minimum of 25 on the day is normal. What the Meet Up may show is how many new people like yourself are going.

You must be **18+** to attend. Please find **Zander**, the Organiser, on your arrival. You'll then be assigned to a game. TIMES Please ensure you arrive **before 1.00pm**. If you arrive late, it may not be possible to find you a game. If you're part of a group of two or more, you all have to be 18+, RSVP for yourselves (no 'plus ones') and arrive between 12.30pm and 12.40pm on the day, not 1.00pm. If you arrive at 1.00pm, you'll still be able to play, but may be placed in different games. DO I NEED TO KNOW THE RULES OF D&D? DO I HAVE TO BRING OR PREPARE ANYTHING? **You don't have to have any knowledge of D&D's rules or have previous experience of D&D or another tabletop role-playing game.** You don't have to bring or prepare anything. We can lend you everything you need including a pre-generated character. If you want to bring or create your own character, please arrive at 12.40pm and discuss your character with your assigned DM. Please respect their decision in the unlikely event that they say you have to use a pre-generated character. They may have story or rules reasons they can't disclose. VENUES AND MONEY MATTERS There's no charge, membership fee or subscription so that no one is excluded because they can't afford to. However, a collection tin may be circulated by the Organiser/Assistant Organiser/Host towards the running of the Meetup for everyone who isn't very hard up. **There's a recommended donation of £2 cash per attendee (DM or player)**. To maintain impartiality, we don't track or record who donates what (and for that reason, only cash is accepted; donations by Paypal, card, e-payment etc aren't accepted). The venues are businesses and, as such, rely on us spending on food and drink while we are there. Our continued use of the venues is dependent upon it. Please spend as much as you reasonably can; if you're thinking of having lunch at your venue, please do. The venues have vegetarian and vegan options. Mafia and/or Werewolf. It's an amazing psychological game where you need to tell the truth, lie, pretend, and read body language. It's not required to have any experience, and it's really easy to play. Feel free to come later, but inform if possible. Often we provide some snacks as well. £5 for the hall rent please. The Mafia deduction game (alternative called called Werewolf) is a social deception game where players are secretly assigned roles as either Mafia (the "bad guys") or Civillias(the "good guys"). The goal of the Mafia is to eliminate all Civilians without being caught, while the Villagers must identify and eliminate the Mafia through discussion and voting. Some players may have special roles, like Sheriff, who can investigate others. Why Mafia is good to play: 1. Improves Social Confidence – Players must speak up, defend themselves, and convince others, helping to overcome shyness and build assertiveness. 2. Enhances Psychological Resilience – Handling suspicion, false accusations, or being outplayed teaches emotional control and the ability to stay calm under pressure. 3. Boosts Analytical Thinking – The game sharpens critical thinking, as players must analyze behaviors, detect lies, and make logical arguments. 4. Encourages Risk-Taking – Whether lying as Mafia or accusing someone as a Villager, players learn to take strategic risks without fear of judgment. 5. Develops Public Speaking Skills – Speaking persuasively and confidently in a group setting makes it easier to express thoughts in real-life situations. 6.
