BC Trail Workday - Frog Creek Restoration

Details

Briar Chapel Workday - Saturday, September 27th, 2025, 9am at the clubhouse. Breakfast snacks will be available.

What are we doing?
We are restoring the Frog Creek trail, which washed out during Tropical Storm Chantal. This will involve 3 reroutes, lots of chainsawing, lots of moving sand, and some trimming.

What will TORC bring?

  • Shovels, hoes, a rake or two
  • Weed whacker + trimmer
  • A chainsaw + safety gear
  • A small bridge (TBD)

What should you bring?

  • A chainsaw (1-2 more would be great) + safety equipment
  • Your favorite dirt-work gear
  • 1-2 weed whackers
  • Gloves, water, appropriate clothing (we’ll be trimming some plants)

Kid friendly?
This event is friendly for middle school kids on up, as long as they can follow instructions (e.g. shovel here, stay away from chainsaws).

Newbie friendly?
Parts of this will be newbie friendly. We prefer dangerous power tools (chainsaws) be kept to experienced folks with safety gear.

Post workday ride:
I’m looking for volunteers that are interested in leading one. I cannot due to childcare constraints.
