6 BC Endurance Race - registration is now open

Have you heard? Registration is open for the 6 BC endurance mountain bike race on Sunday 10/16 on the Briar Chapel trails.

To register goto the event page at http://www.meetup.com/torc-nc/calendar/14906905/

The elves at TORC have been super busy putting together a whopper of an event. It's a double-header. The 6 BC race is colocated with the annual Fat Tire Festival! There are all kinds of great things going on including kids activities, a rock climbing wall, trials demonstration, an attempt at the track stand world record, demo fleets from GT and Fuji, and several area shops will be hanging out and showcasing their wares.

The trail gnomes have also been hard at work and we have more singletrack trail than the 6 BC race last year.

For the hardcore folks out there we have 6 hour solo categories (men, women, junior, and beginner). Does a 6 hour race sound a bit over the top to you? Split it up and do a 2 or 3 person relay team. Or do the 3 hour solo version - a new category for this year.

We have great prizes from Thomson, Maxxis, Pro Lube, Hammer Nutrition and others. All racers get a free 6 BC t shirt - this is a high quality, eco-friendly shirt from the good folks at TS Designs.

Oh ... and one more thing ... Carolina Brewery will be on hand catering dinner. Racers get free food and craft brews! For spectators we'll have food and brews for sale also.

Race proceeds go towards supporting TORC and local trail development.

Thanks for tuning in and I hope to see you out there racing!
