SAVE YOUR SPACE AT THE BOOK CLUB SESSION HERE.
Description of this book:
In this inspiring travelogue, celebrated traveler and photographer Jessica Nabongo—the first Black woman on record to visit all 195 countries in the world—shares her journey around the globe with fascinating stories of adventure, culture, travel musts, and human connections.
It was a daunting task, but Jessica Nabongo, the beloved voice behind the popular website The Catch Me if You Can, made it happen, completing her journey to all 195 UN-recognized countries in the world in October 2019. Now, in this one-of-a-kind memoir, she reveals her top 100 destinations from her global adventure.
Beautifully illustrated with many of Nabongo's own photographs, the book documents her remarkable experiences in each country, including:
A harrowing scooter accident in Nauru, the world’s least visited country,
Seeing the life and community swarming around the Hazrat Ali Mazar mosque in Afghanistan, Horseback riding and learning to lasso with Black cowboys in Oklahoma, Playing dominoes with men on the streets of Havana, Learning to make traditional takoyaki (octopus balls) from locals in Japan, Dog sledding in Norway and swimming with humpback whales in Tonga, A late night adventure with strangers to cross a border in Guinea Bissau, And sunbathing on the sandy shores of Los Roques in Venezuela.Along with beloved destinations like Peru and South Africa, you'll also find tales from far-flung corners and seldom visited destinations, including Tuvalu, North Korea, South Sudan, and the Central African Republic.
Nabongo's stories are love letters to diversity, beauty, and culture—and most of all, to the people she meets along the way.
Throughout, she offers bucket-list experiences for other travel-lovers looking to follow in her footsteps.
For armchair travelers or readers planning a trip around the globe, this arresting collection will awe and inspire!

- Wine & Waterfalls: In-Person Tour, OregonWy'East Vineyards, Hood River, OR$275.00
*This is an in-person tour leaving from Portland, Oregon.
Welcome to your perfect break in the Pacific Northwest, where giant trees frame snowy volcanoes and plump rivers rush to the ocean. Spend a full day exploring the vineyards and waterfalls along the Columbia River Gorge with an expert guide and driver. Forge new connections while exploring Oregon’s history and the great outdoors.
Save your spot on this tour: REGISTER
Your day begins when our private driver picks you up in downtown Portland. Hop in and we are off to the Columbia River Gorge, one of the most beautiful areas in Oregon.
Our first stop is Waterfall Alley and a short walk (.5 mi) to the base of Latourell Falls.
On this tour, you will partake in a series of short walks and visits. This allows us to see more of Waterfall Alley than a longer hike to just one falls would. It also means this trip is accessible to hikers of all skill levels.
Next up on our itinerary is the iconic Bridal Veil Falls where we will pause for a short stroll to the viewing platform. Feel the mist coming off this powerful waterfall and take in the sylvan landscape common in this region of the state.
En route to the Hood River area, our group will stop in for a quick look at Starvation Creek Falls and admire the drama of this mossy cascade.
At this point in our journey, you will have worked up an appetite for lunch. It’s time to trade waterfalls for vino and head over to our first winery where we will imbibe local reds and whites while enjoying a delicious boxed lunch.
Fortified, we are off to another round of tasting at one more winery. Maybe you will find a new blend to take home to pair dinner.
As we make our way back to Portland, we will pull over to see the queen of all the waterfalls and the highest in Oregon: Multnomah Falls.
Snowmelt and rainfall fuel this cascade, which drops 620 feet into a frothing pool below, a dramatic end to our day of waterfall visits.
Inclusions: transportation to and from our meeting spot, knowledgeable guide, light morning snack and coffee, wine tasting, catered boxed lunch, afternoon cookie!
