Truly Knowing Malaysia: Expats & Malaysians Connect
Globalization leads to many impacts, both positive and negative, including in Malaysia. It is time for expatriates, international professionals, international families, entrepreneurs, and Malaysians to connect in a focused networking session designed to build meaningful relationships and practical understanding of life in Malaysia.
This event is hosted by Truly Knowing Malaysia, a data-driven social integration consultancy built on a foundational dataset examining Malaysia’s low-wage, high-profit foreign labour ecosystem and broader societal structures.
The consultancy translates structured societal analysis into practical guidance to help medium-skilled and high-skilled foreigners better understand how Malaysia’s history, administration, economy, and social systems may shape their everyday living and integration experiences.
Through our gatherings, foreigners will not only expand their personal and professional networks, but also gain deeper contextual insights into how different backgrounds and purposes of stay influence their integration in Malaysia.
Conversations are designed to be both practical and reflective, supporting more informed engagement with local communities and opportunities.
Whether you are new to Malaysia or established here, this session offers a space to connect, learn, and explore meaningful pathways for collaboration and integration.

Hi everyone,
I’m Puan Nur Ainne, and I would like to invite you to a warm and informal gathering designed to bring together expatriates and Malaysians in a relaxed, respectful space for meaningful conversation and connection.
This event is about sharing real-life experiences of foreigners integrating into Malaysian society. We will explore experiences across everyday areas such as work, community life, administration, economy, social interaction and more societal elements. In a balanced, open, and respectful way.
The conversations will be gently guided under the Truly Knowing Malaysia framework (www.trulyknowingmalaysia.com), focusing on understanding, verified source of information, humility, patience, gratitude, contentment, curiosity, and mutual respect.
The aim is to create a welcoming space where people can listen, share openly, and better understand each other’s experiences in Malaysia. Those who need more personalised assistance can ask me later during the networking session about how Truly Knowing Malaysia supports its clients.
This is a potluck-style gathering, so everyone (including the guests you bring along) is asked to bring a dish to share. I will provide additional food, drinks, utensils, and basic cleaning items.
Everyone will have a chance to speak, and we encourage attentive listening when others are sharing so the conversation stays clear, respectful, and inclusive for all. Simply put, good manners go a long way.
