What we’re about
We are a networking group for everyone who loves Umbraco!
Meetups are organized in Odense, Aarhus, Copenhagen and where there are enthusiasts who want to arrange something. There will be presentations, hands-on sessions, display of the delicious things you've made in Umbraco or something else.
We are happy to give access as Co-organizer to the community members who are interested in hosting a meetup in Denmark. All you need to do is:
• Send an email to ilham@umbraco.dk indicating your name, email address, company name, location of the meetup, and briefly tell us why you would like to organize the meetup. We will get in touch to further discuss the meetup plans and confirm your access as co-organizer if the meetup can be added to the calendar.
• As co-organizer, you can add the meetup information (Date, Agenda, Location), invite attendees, and send reminders to those who RSVPed Yes.
• Share with us your meetup story through great pictures and helpful feedback ;)

Hi Umbracians
Happy Hacktoberfest! We have many things to hack on during this hackathon, traditionally we have a look at the many "up for grabs" issues on the Umbraco CMS repository and we try to fix some of them. This means cloning the Umbraco source code, finding the area we need to look in, making changes and sending a PR.
Additionally, we have new things to play with, Bellissima (also know as "the new backoffice") is coming to Umbraco 14, in June next year) and the work on that is in full swing. Maybe you want to try to create a package for Bellissima, maybe you want to implement a small feature, maybe you would like to contribute to the UI library. Anything goes.
We also encourage you to help out package developers in improving their packages, we'll have a list of participating packages ready for you.
🎤 Talks
There's a separate optional room to join two talks during this hackathon, they might give you some more inspiration for things to work on:15:30-16:15 Niels Lyngsø from Umbraco will give a talk titled Mounting your UI in New Backoffice will get you started with the upcoming new backoffice codenamed Bellissima.
The new Backoffice will reach market within a year, revolutionising the way UI is made. New abilities emerge and existing is transformed. This talk gives a hands-on walk-through on how to write and integrate UI in New Backoffice. We will deep dive into the core concepts of New Backoffice. Utilizing the Context API to effortlessly connect with various parts of Backoffice. Enabling influence from the outside or orchestrating other parts to make visions come to life. In order to retrieve data from external sources we will also get around how to fetch data with New Backoffice. Whether you’re a seasoned Umbraco developer or a front-end developer looking for new territory, this session will equip you with the knowledge necessary to write UI within the New Backoffice.
16:30-17:45 Kenn Jacobsen from Umbraco HQ will join us and talk about: Connecting the Umbraco delivery API to a frontend
Umbraco 12 is out with a cool new delivery API. And while that's great on its own, how can we use the new API to build new experiences?
Kenn will tell us about combining the delivery API with a bit of Next.js to publish a static website to Vercel and more, there may be some Blazor even 😱.Sebastiaan Janssen from Umbraco HQ is on site to help guide your contributions and hand out tickets (if you weren't at Codegarden, you've missed this part) to work on.
During the day, our friends in the USA will have had some breakfast and we'll link up with them remotely because they also have a hackathon planned: https://www.meetup.com/umbraco-hq-us-meetup-group/events/295782754/
We should have a good few hours of overlap where we can work together.Your contributions for the day of course count for Umbraco's Hacktoberfest event and they can earn you swag🛍️ (or we'll plant trees 🌳on your behalf instead).
Come and join us, you're welcome to drop in at any time after 14.00
No previous experience is required (we expect you to have used Umbraco before though) and no pull request is too simple or too small.
There will be snacks, soft drinks and we will serve food around 18:00
Looking forward to see you all
Note: this is an in-person event.
