This Meetup group is run by the Veg Society of DC (VSDC).
The Veg Society of DC hosts the events and pays the Meetup fee. You do not have to be a member of VSDC to participate in our events, but we encourage you to join. All of our events are vegan and we have a lot of fun! Membership enables you to enjoy members-only benefits like receiving discounts from our GreenRewards participating partners.
VSDC is a completely volunteer-run organization, with no paid staff. and is governed by an elected volunteer Board of Directors.
Founded in 1927, the Veg Society of the District of Columbia (VSDC) is the nation’s oldest continuously operating 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization promoting an all-plant diet and vegan lifestyle through education, community-building, and social activities throughout the DC metro area.
VSDC believes in treating all people, animals, and the planet with respect and kindness. We are committed to creating a more compassionate and caring world.
We do this by creating a community of like-minded people who are on the path to an all-plant diet and vegan lifestyle. Whoever you are, and wherever you are on this path, we offer resources and fellowship to support you. We make your journey easier, more enjoyable and meaningful.

VSDC Monthly Vegan Potluck (Arlington VA)
Ballston Metro, 4230 Fairfax Drive, Arlington, VA, USPlease join us for our fun and friendly monthly VSDC Vegan Potluck in Arlington VA on Sunday, November 9th. It will start at 3 pm and will go until 6 pm. There is no charge to attend the event but you will be expected to bring vegan food or drink to share.
Items to bring to the potluck:
- Vegan potluck dish (no animal products of any kind) to share. For food quantity, please bring 4 to 6 times the number of servings times the number in your party.
- A serving utensil for your dish
- Ingredients list or recipe for your dish - Please print or write it out in advance
- Beverage for yourself or one to share
- To help reduce waste, bring your reusable plate, cup, and utensils
[VSDC will provide drinking water.]Please Note:
- Be sure to help leave the space clean before leaving the potluck and take the containers and utensils you brought with you.
- Vegans do not consume any animal products or byproducts (no meat, chicken/poultry, fish/sea animals, eggs, milk or dairy products, honey, etc).LOCATION
Arlington VA. The exact location will be sent 2 days before the event to registered attendees who provide their first and last name and email, as instructed when you RSVP for this event (only the organizers will see your name and email).Once you have the address, enter the front door and let the front desk know you are attending the event in the Community Room. The Community Room is on the right after entering the lobby.
PARKING
Yes, there is free street parking in this residential neighborhood. Please read and follow all parking signs and do NOT park in the library parking lot.METRO
This location is accessible by public transport. It is about 3 blocks from the Virginia Square or Ballston Metro stations (Orange and Silver lines).Please plan your trip in advance and ask any questions at least one day in advance. The organizers will do their best to answer questions but ones on the day of the event will be difficult for responses.

2531 Chain Bridge Rd, Vienna, VA, USJoin us for an all plant-based meal at the always popular Sunflower Vegetarian Restaurant in Vienna, VA. We've made a reservation for 20 attendees, so don't delay in RSVPing as this will fill up. You can preview Sunflower's menu here.
Parking is available in the restaurant's lot and the Vienna Metro station is 1.6 miles away. Rides may be available from attendees with cars so please communicate needs/availability in the comments below.
Please note that there is no outdoor dining at this venue and that this is an indoor event.

VSDC Joins Poplar Spring Animal Sanctuary for Thanksgiving WITH the Turkeys
Poplar Spring Animal Sanctuary, 15200 Mount Nebo Rd M, Poolesville, MD, USWe invite VSDC-ers to join us for the Poplar Spring Animal Sanctuary Thanksgiving WITH the Turkeys, celebrating a cruelty-free celebration and potluck. Vegan dinner and dessert will be served (no animal products at all, e.g. meat, fish, dairy, eggs, honey).
Please bring a vegan dinner or dessert (no meat, dairy, fish or eggs) to serve eight.
$10.00 donation to benefit the animals. No charge for children under 12.
Stroll around and visit the rescued animals during the event.
