Welcome to a totally new adventure! And, one that doesn’t take a lot of effort. We are going into nature, with a new way to move our bodies that will light up everything we see.
This is not only a fascinating way to experience the color of a leaf as bright green, the small insects roaming around every log as unique, and the wind on your legs as refreshing. It is also a type of body therapy.
Like other intentional, slow, movement practices (such as Tai-Chi), it finds the body’s own natural rhythm and wisdom on how to move. In this natural rhythm, the body and nervous system can relax, even if the muscles are being used and engaged.
If you are looking to heal, slow your mind down, spend more time in nature, or just move your body in new ways, then come join us.
Cost (Free)
This is a free event to gather and learn something new together. I will be sharing some techniques and allowing people to explore things on their own.
Location
We'll be in Conway Robinson State Forest. Park in the lot and meet by the trailhead sign.
Responsibility
Please note that we will be in the forest, and gathering as community. Everyone is fully responsible for themselves, including their own safety, health, and wellbeing.
What to Bring
Feel free to wear comfortable clothes and bug protection (if needed). Any water and snacks you can bring in a small, light backpack or leave in the car. It's easier to move this way when you're not carrying much.
How far will we be walking?
We will walk between 1/2 mile and 1 mile total.
What should I expect?
1. Gather by the trailhead sign (6:30-6:40p).
2. Begin walking into the forest, to find a good spot to explore our body's rhythm in nature.
3. Be guided through some basic movement styles and exercises, to notice nature while moving slowly and intentionally.
4. Explore on your own, finding your own rhythm and style.
5. Re-group to share our experiences and the benefits we notice together.
Please let me know if you have any questions. See you there!
