Join the Central Washington Sunstriders and the Interlaken Trailblazers Volkssport Club for autumn walks in Wellington, Lake Wenatchee and Leavenworth.

The Walks (West to East):
Wellington: See the portal of the original Stevens Pass railroad tunnel; the site of the Wellington railroad disaster; walk along and through several old railroad snow sheds; and great views of the Tye and Sky River valley.
5k and 10k Rated 1B Vault toilets at trailhead.
Parking Pass Required: Northwest Forest Pass or Federal Recreational Lands Pass (Includes America The Beautiful)
Nason Ridge and Hidden Lake: Two walks on the south side of Lake Wenatchee. Nason Ridge Trail gently climbs through a conifer forest with views of Lake Wenatchee, hills, and mountains. 10k reaches a ski warming hut with stunning views. Hidden Lake is a short hike to a beautiful mountain lake. 3k, 5k and 10k Rated 2C
Vault toilet at Nason Ridge trailhead, no toilets or cellphone reception at Hidden Lake Parking Pass Required: Northwest Forest Pass or Federal Recreational Lands Pass (Includes America The Beautiful)
Lake Wenatchee State Park: Enjoy the woodsy beauty of Lake Wenatchee State Park with views of the lake and mountains beyond. The 5k is entirely within Lake Wenatchee State Park; register and drive to start.
8k/10k will leave from our home base at Lake Wenatchee Rec Club and follow paths through the woods to the park. 10k adds and out and back to Fish Lake 5k rated 1B 8k/10k rated 1C
Restrooms at LWRC and in the park.
Parking Pass Required: Discover Pass required for 5k only
Leavenworth Ski Hill : Walk through the forested cross country ski hill area on the north side of Leavenworth. The event continues through residential areas to the downtown area of this Bavarian themed town before returning back to the ski hill. 5k and 10k rated 2B
Vault toilets at trailhead parking. No parking permit required.
Bike Events: three paved routes: two on roads in the Lake Wenatchee/Plain area and one up Icicle Gorge road in the Leavenworth area.

We will be registering walkers Thursday October 2, Friday October 3, and Saturday October 4, 8am-4pm.On Sunday we will register walkers at Ski Hill Trails Walk in the parking lot at 9:00am.
Registration: All walkers must register for this event either at the Recreation Club or via the mail in registration. IVV Credit is $4. Donations to support these activities are appreciated as AVA charges clubs $2 per walker,

From US2 EASTBOUND: LEFT on WA-207N for 4.3 miles. Veer Right onto Chiwawa Loop Road. LWRC is on the Left in .5 miles
From US2 WESTBOUND, RIGHT on WA-207N for 4.3 miles. Veer Right onto Chiwawa Loop Road. LWRC is on the Left in .5 miles
LODGING: There is no host hotel. There are many options for lodging including motels/hotels, Airbnb, VRBO and other choices in the Lake Wenatchee area and valley. This is High-Price season in Leavenworth proper due to the Octoberfest.
SOCIAL EVENTS:
The festival includes a Sat evening Brat Fest. Reservations required for the dinner. Download, the brochure from the website. Complete and return by September 20
There will a light lunch available on Thursday, Friday and
Saturday by donation. (soup, sandwiches and finger food) at the Lake Wenatchee Recreation Club. Please indicate your interest on the registration form.
